《Unstable (L x Reader)》Chapter Eight: Scavenger Hunt

Slowly entering back into reality... Now I'm forever grateful for L. He allowed me to escape and I will be forever grateful. Then I was fully brought back to reality since I had just been zoning out in my room. It was pretty normal for me to do this. I always thought about my past and I would imagine myself being there watching my past self just sort of enjoying what happened in my past. No normal person would wish for this to be afflicted with my certain fate, but what can you do. Well the answer is nothing. I exited my room and it was pitch black with the low glow of the monitors that L had set up. I saw him hunched over reading over his files and information. "Up again late I see. Do you ever sleep?" "Only when I feel like it." I walked over to him reading whatever he was reading. It was a file on the stuff he has picked up on Light. It was some interesting stuff, but it was nothing I haven't already picked up on him. He was a very easy person to read, it was sort of sad how easy people can be read. L was a bit harder to read, he probably made himself hard to read. But it was obvious he was dedicated to his job, the sleepless nights really showed, and it made sense why he had a hunch. He's always hunched over reading files and such. I liked his sense of dedication. I think maybe, was I feeling something for him? I was truly unsure, but would I be able to love someone? Would someone even be able to love me? I was hard to love, and my parents made that clear to me while raising me. Because I could see straight through them that it truly showed that they were debating whether to love me or not. It bothered me how I could read my own parents, and at a quite a young age actually. But as I was deep in thought L broke my train and started saying, "You know, you would fit in well where I grew up, except for your... anger issues." "Tell me more... your place where you grew up sounds fascinating." "Well it was an orphanage in England, it was called Wammy's and Watari was the one to open it. And it was made specifically for very smart and gifted children with no home to go to." "Now I see what you mean, and thank you for the compliment. I do see myself to be very smart, though I have been called crazy my whole life instead." "What was it like for you to grow up in such an unnatural place? Like in the asylum, I mean." "Well... I was given the nickname "Killer 10 Year Old", and man did it stick for a long time. And for a bit I lived in a low security cell, you may have walked past one when you picked me up, but I attacked a group of kids and got myself in a heavy security cell for punishment." "Do you regret it..? Hurting the kids?" "Not exactly, it was a nice release, and I think they deserved it. And my mom deserved what she got too." "Do you hate everyone you meet?" "No. I have a list of people I like, and it's short." "Who is on this list of yours..?" "I'm not telling." "I will find out, and you know it." "You know what? I'll make a really fun scavenger hunt for you to figure it out!" "Challenge accepted. Do it while I head out for this exam at the university Light is going to." "Alrighty roo!" I then headed off to my room again. I lied there on my back and then realized, "Holly shit! I really do like this boy.. L. He made me very happy and I like challenging him, and I trust him too. But how do I tell him..?" Then I fell asleep. When I woke up there was a knock at my door. I groaned and walked to the door slowly. I opened the door and saw L standing there. He said he was leaving for the exam, then he said to make the challenge as hard as I can and then he left. I grabbed some paper from the provided desk in my room and grabbed a pen as well. I cut the paper in pieces and I started writing clues. I then grabbed a role of tape and started taping things everywhere. It earned me strange looks from the task force but then I explained to them in my more natural monotone voice that it was a scavenger hunt for L. When I heard L come in through the door I smiled a bit more of a creepy smile and shouted, "The game has begun!" He started looking around the room and spotted the first piece of paper. I wrote on it: (use your imagination and pretend that the stuff in bold is your handwriting) "". He set the paper down and walked towards Matsuda. He asked if I handed him any paper at all and then he grabbed the clue I gave him. But then Matsuda stopped him and asked for the secret word. He was allowed no hints at all and left L to think about what word it could possibly be. L put his thumb to his mouth and started chewing on it, he first guessed a random word, "Princess" but Matsuda shook his head. Then L took his time again before guessing, "Knight in shining armour." Matsuda nodded his head saying it was correct and handed him the clue he had hidden in his wallet. Then that clue read, "". L looked at it again and thought, who is a boy..? I mean who else could it be, its Light. But I was not about to tell L. He quickly figured it out and asked Watari for a ride all the way to Yagami's house. Watari obliged and got the keys and walked with L all the way down to the car. They were gone for a bit but eventually came back so I assume he got the hint. The hint did say to look for something that I would prefer to burn but I know I wouldn't be able to. And as soon as I heard the main door to the room open the door that went into my room burst open. L looked at me and quickly asked, "How did you manage to get all the way to Light-kun's huse?" "I asked his dad silly! He works here you know!" L made a face of understanding and then started looking through my things. I mean I didn't have many things since this isn't exactly where I live, and it's not like the mental institute has more of my belongings. He eventually started digging through my drawers, and the first one he opened was accidentally my bra and panties drawers and he quickly slammed it looking into the next. He quickly found my clothes that I had to wear from the hospital into the hotel place and then he took out the note that read, "." That was all I wrote besides talking to him through paper. So as he set the clue down on the plain colored dresser he left my room slowly. I watched him from a distance and I watched as he sat on the floor with his thumb back in his mouth thinking hard on what I thought was a good place to read. Then he realized that I must have been mentioning what we were doing last night and rushed to the monitors. Sadly Aizawa was sitting there and L quickly asked him to move as he started slowly digging around with caution looking for the last clue. He found it jammed into a keyboard and looked at me thinking... probably... "How did she manage to take the whole keyboard apart and shove the clue in here?" Then he slowly unfolded it. As he was doing so I got closer and closer to him, then I rested my head, while on tippy toes since I'm not too tall, and watched what L was reading while slipping the list in his back pocket. The clue was simply a gorgeous cursive L that I hand drew. He knew really fast that it was him. He started padding down his pockets and found the list hanging on his belt loop. I sat on the floor and watched him unflod the paper and I watched carefully as his eyes moved back and forth reading my very long and written out list. And here's the list by the way:

L turned to me and I made a very ugly smile on purpose and then as he was watching my body language I asked if I could hug him. He nodded and I approached him and hugged him. It felt nice, warm, and he definitely had muscles, which squeezed me in tight. I felt love radiating off this man. This sweet, sweet toothed, and sleepless man.

An Unbound Soul
When Peter suffers a too-close encounter with a truck, he finds himself reborn in another world. At first glance it is a perfect fantasy land. There's magic to play with, elves singing in the forest and a hyperactive catgirl neighbour. There's even a System that lets him earn skills and level up. But it isn't long before he notices that the world is far too perfect. Just why is everyone so nice? Can Peter accept the alien morality of this world's self-proclaimed protector, or will he seek to overthrow her? Set after the events of A Lonely Dungeon, a few hundred years after the rebirth of civilization, this is a story about an earthling falling into Erryn's new world and the subsequent struggles of himself and Erryn to understand each other. It's a slow paced slice of life, and while there are pieces of action, don't expect any immediate grand conflict between Erryn and Peter. Published here, scribblehub and amazon. Two new chapters a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

So far, he’s managed to just barely keep his head down, but when his powers force him to step into the spotlight, he finds himself caught up in the one life he never wanted; heroism. Sometimes I wonder why the world isn't decorated with something as cool as magic... Why can't we manipulate the laws of the world? Why does the story about God sound too fake to be believed? Why the hope for this world to be saved from the bottom of everyone's heart can never be fulfilled... Then I landed on each conclusion from each of those questions... That humans are the most cunning, meanest and stupidest creatures who are most desperately expected to not have any power including magic itself. That it is not God that we should believe in, because they themselves do not believe in how disgusting human nature really is. That everyone's hope is not for the world to be saved, but for the world to be destroyed in order to save their own selves. That the world from the beginning, was not meant to be saved... (I frequently revise and update the use of sentences in the previous chapters without disturbing the original storyline. so sometimes it takes me a little longer to publish a new chapter.) I have the same novel posted on another website (Webnovel.com , creativenovels.com) with the same name (RELINQUISH)
