《Broken | completed》Chapter 5

"Why were you running away?" The Beta decided to ask. I don't answer, but continue to walk with him. "Right, I haven't introduced myself. I'm the Marco, the Beta." I still don't speak, not wanting to. I wasn't entirely comfortable win him after he practically tackled me. "Look, I'm sorry okay? Not a good way to meet, but I had to get you back before Kaden-"
"Before Kaden what?" Marco's eyes widen and looks straight ahead, and finds an angry looking Kaden. He storms up to us, glaring. He was glaring at Marco, actually. What did Marco do? I was the one who ran..
Marco gulped, "Um-"
"Before I found out my mate tried to escape me again?" He asked, looking directly at me. Now it was my turn to gulp. I cowered slightly, taking a step back. "Again? You ran again. You really don't want to be here, do you? You don't want me or anything, hm?" I continued to cower away, staying silent. Sadly, that just made him more angry. He let out a thunderous growl, picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I didn't see where he was walking, but I knew Marco was following. After what felt like forever, I was put into my feet. "If you want to go, then go." We were in the forest and he stared down at me, hurt and anger in his eyes.
"Kaden-"
"Shut it, Marco. This doesn't concern you," he snarls out. Marco frowns and takes a few steps back. Kaden turns back to me, and narrows his eyes. "Go on then. You seem to want to go so badly, so why aren't you? Get the hell off my territory!"
"KADEN!" Marco yells out. "That's enough!"
"NO! She wants to leave me so I'm letting her!" Marco rolls his eyes and pulls Kaden to the side, speaking to him. Me? I stayed frozen in my spot. He was giving me the chance to leave, so why wasn't I taking it? What was wrong with me? I snapped out of my thoughts when Kaden stood in front of me again. Instead of saying anything, he pulls me towards him. He presses my head to his chest, kissing the top of my head. "I'm sorry, please don't actually leave me," I could hear the vulnerability in his voice and I just melted. I wanted to just hug him forever and just hold him in my arms. But why am I feeling this way? "Come on, let's go back to the pack house."

Marco walks ahead of us, leaving us to have some time to ourselves. No doubt we'll have a lifetime together if he doesn't reject me. "I'm sorry," I murmur, being the first to speak up. He looks down, sadness filling his eyes. "I just-"
"Don't want to be here, I know," he finishes off.
"That wasn't what I was going to say," I say in a quiet voice, scared he might turn angry again. Damn, that was really scary. "I thought it'd hurt less if I left. I'm not use to people wanting me, that's all."
"Why do you think I wouldn't want you? You're my mate, I don't just want you but I need you. You know? You're my mate, meaning you're basically my life line. And no, that's not just what I need you for, I need you because you're my other half. Now that I have you, you're now making me whole." I did melt at his words, and he made me want to just hug him forever and ever. I still didn't know why I was feeling this way, and I didn't know how to react to it. It felt weird, and I felt fuzzy inside when he said those words. "Just like I'll make you whole too, as I'm your other half. We're soulmates, Nova." I stayed silent as we walked to the pack house, Marco had already headed in and we were just nearing it. I sighed, not knowing what to say. "Say something?"
I felt really bad. I was acting selfish, and I was being unfair on Kaden. I didn't think of his feelings, did I? I was only thinking of myself.. I'm such a bad person. Maybe he's better off without a selfish mate? "I'm sorry," it was all I could think of to say. I didn't know what else to say. I was sorry, I did hurt him..and I felt really, really bad.

"Don't," he says, sighing. "Just don't leave me now," he runs his hand through his hair and looks down at me with a pleading look. I can't say no to him..
Good, Ariella says, and I knew she was smiling away. Just don't ruin anything.
"I won't," I found myself saying. He smiles at me and goes in to hold my hand but stops, pulling his hand back to the side of his body. We enter the pack house and are met with some worried looking pack members. They looked at Kaden and muttered 'Alpha' while bowing their heads down slightly. Marco was with a girl, holding her hand as they spoke hushed. The pack members carried on staring, some looking at me questionably. I suppose they were probably curious as to who I was, even though some already knew which I found weird considering I hadn't been here for so long. The time I was here, I was basically unconscious.
"Back to your normal lives, nothing to see here," Kaden calmly says to everyone. They didn't bother moving and he seemed to give them the look considering they all rushed off in a panic. Kaden leads us up the stairs and all the way to the top floor. "I've got work to do, Edna will be in our room soon. She's taking you shopping," he tells me, then walking into his office that he showed me earlier. I walk to the room and sit on the bed, waiting for Edna.
I hear a knock on the door, "Luna?"
"Come in," I call out. Edna walks in and smiles at me.
"Are you ready to go?" She asks, still smiling at me. I nod my head and stand up, walking towards her. Before we walk out, she grabs my arm. "The bruises, what happened?" How does she know?
"B-bruises? There are none. What are you-"
"Your waist, legs, back. I've seen them. When you fell in the shower, I took care of you considering Alpha Kaden is a gent. Saw scars too. What happened?"
"Nothing, just part of my past. Don't tell Kaden, please?"
"He's my Alpha, I can't keep secrets from him, especially where concerning his mate." I was about to plead to her not to tell him but she cuts me off by starting to speak again, "But, he won't have to find out from me. I won't say a word. After all, I never saw anything did I?"
"But-"
"Nothing, I didn't see anything. Now, shall we go shopping?" I nod my head, thanking her. She smiles in return and we head off to shop, Edna popping her head in Kaden's office to tell him we were heading out.
