Going to the palace, Lin Ning did not think that she would ever come to the palace again till she got the invitation. Taking Hun Luan and Xia Ling with her, they were her two maids that she brought along to help if needed. Hun Lian held onto her zither, seeing how the place was beautiful and exquisite. "Be sure to stay close. Don't go anywhere." Lin Ning did not want them both to be involved with unnecessary drama that occurred constantly in the palace.

"You've made it, Miss Lin." Hearing the second princess consort, Lin Ning had Xia Ling help her walk the path.

"I greet the second princess consort." Greeting the second princess consort, Lin Ning opened her eyes to see that her colors were between gray and black. 'She is upset, but suspicious at the same time.' Looking to see how it was, Lin Ning did not think that things would turn out this way but she hoped that the second princess consort did not have anything evil in mind.

"Miss Lin, you even brought your zither here."

'Ahhh, I can see why the second prince and his princess consort are a match. Her name is Qian Qiang.' Lin Ning could sense that she held the aura of a villain which would match her role in this. "En, I heard that you enjoyed my song at the event that time, so I thought perhaps you wanted to listen a little more about it." Lin Ning knew that the second princess consort was going to be up to something.

"En, I would like to hear more if possible. Why don't you let me take it and place it out in the courtyard? After we finish eating lunch, then you can play it for me." Qian Qiang had her maids take the zither while Lin Ning followed her to where they were sitting. Taking a seat, Lin Ning caught the scent of the food in the platters that were laid out on the table. "Miss Lin, I've heard that you have been playing the zither since young. Is that true?"

"En, there was never much that I could do since I do not have my eyesight. Playing the zither is the only thing that I can do." Lin Ning smiled inside, seeing how Qian Qiang had asked a simple question to start out.

"You seem to really love the zither. I heard you play at Empress Dowager's birthday. You seem to have caught a lot of attention from that one performance." Qian Qiang smiled at Lin Ning who took little sips from her cup.

"Second Princess Consort, I'm glad that you enjoyed the song that I played. It was also for the empress dowager, and since I had nothing else to give to her for her birthday then I chose a song to play for her." Lin Ning opened her eyes from behind her blindfold, seeing a yellow color which she could sense caution in the air. Seeing how it was coming from the second crown princess, it was quite obvious that she was already making her move. "I am rather curious though, why would you send me an invitation when there were many other ladies who had more talent than me." Taking a sip of her tea, Lin Ning could see that Qian Qiang had been playing her cards well.

"Miss Lin, you are far more different from those ladies. You are gifted." Hearing those words, Lin Ning could not help but see how the novel was too accurate about her words to please others.

"I am not gifted. I simply took a liking to the zither." Lin Ning did not want to hear such words from Qian Qiang when that woman was already plotting something against her so soon in broad daylight. "Every lady of the capital will favor something that they set their heart too. I happen to set mine with the zither. It is like my passion."

"I see. It would be bes-"

"Who decided to invite the blind woman here?!" Hearing a very spoiled voice, Lin Ning wished that she did not have to come to the palace that day.

'Isn't life just amazing?' She cried inside, seeing how a lot of events were taking a turn at this moment.

"Sister Jiao, you should be resting at this time. You are in no condition to be moving too much. You are pregnant right now." Qian Qiang said.

'Ah, I knew that this was going to happen. I remember this part now.' Lin Ning had finally recalled a few events that were going to happen at this time of day. 'I really did come at such a bad time.' Lin Ning did not think that she would get 'front seat', but she was typically involved in it. "Lin Ning, greets the Fifth Princess." Lin Ning bowed, being sure to not get the fifth princess angry; Yi Jiao.

"Hmph, it's good that you know your rank here!" Yi Jiao looked to the blind woman who bowed before her, seeing how she was not a bother to her.

"Sister Jiao, come and sit as well. It's best to have that child of yours nurtured." Qian Qiang helped Yi Jiao sit down, they were all looking at the food that was placed in front of them.

"Why did you invite this blind woman here?" Yi Jiao was upset that Qian Qiang would invite a blind woman who they did not want to have any connections to. Lin Ning could see red within the fifth princess, seeing how the fifth princess did not like her at first glance.

"She can play her zither. Her songs are beautiful. You should listen to it. You will feel at ease with the song that she plays." Qian Qiang said words that Yi Qiao did not want to hear since her life had been tumbling ever since she lost her reputation.

"If both the fifth princess and second princess consort wish to listen, then I can play it now if you both would like." Lin Ning decided to see what Qian Qiang had in mind for her.

"Why don't you allow us to join and listen as well?" Hearing an unfamiliar voice say, Lin Ning did not know who was there at this time.
