《Byond understanding》Chapter 6 - Death machine.

I feel like i am going to get blown away. The Knife is spinning so fast. Its impossible to convey how powerful it is. My hair is fluttering and its impossible to see past the metal its purely opaque.
Rushing into the room. I see 20 or 50 some. gnomes. Some of them are riding rats and playing with each other. The giant rats are used as mount and the gathering of gnomes is very similar to a village. The problem with that is. The dungeon doesnt spawn child gnomes. It spawns other creatures as children. Child or not, after a certain point. You have to lose your empathy with dungeon spawned creatures.
"SCREEE" A gnome points at me and screeches. charging me with a spear. With the first gnome leading the charge. Every other gnome charges at the same time. Holding weird sacks and pointy sticks.
The first gnome. Runs up. Thinking that my saw blade weapon to be some kind of shield on a stick.Reaching out its arm to grip it. Almost as if it happened before it touched the blade. The gnome Disappeared.
Upper body disintegrated and lower body flung to the roof. Every gnome screeches. Some of the other gnomes start throwing their sacks at me. Before it reaches half way. The sacks stop mid air and go back on the gnome that threw them.
The sacks explode to red glittering powder. The gnomes grey skin grows yellowish. Their eyes shut and excessive itching of their skin. I become actually angry. They would have done that to me. What the fuck
I activate the shield and walk towards the gnomes. The gnome continue charging, not fully understanding how dangerous my weapon is. Swinging my saw blade. The gnome that were there disappeared. I get covered with gore, Just using the sawblade. Without reaching out to wipe my self. i use telekinesis to clean the big bits of viscera.
The gnome screech and circle me. Trying to be loud to intimidate me. But i am on the war path. Using a constant bubble of telekinetic power to cover my self from more red powder and viscera. Hopping behind me. A gnome with a rat mount. Attacks me from behind.
I swing the saw to the back, Taking absolutely no time to move it. The saw is practically weightless. Both gnome and rat were there and then they weren't. At this point. after killing a quarter of them. The gnome started becoming scared. Their big numbers made them courageous. At the start of the fight, now they are taking the fight seriously.
But their number wont save them. Rushing forward with a shield raised. Saw held out to the side. I start culling them in mass. pumping up my kill count the most in that moment in time.

The Gnome still not fully getting it, Didnt run away at first sight. But when the amount reached 60% killed. I completely broke their moral. All of them running away. I run after them going from corner to corner. Killing 2-3 every 1 second. After reaching 80% kill percentage.
The amount i am killing decreased drastically. Every gnome is earnestly running away. After getting kited to a corner by a single gnome. Must other gnome have left the room and got away from me. The fight ended with me not even getting hit once.
I am heaving from the exertion. Running from one side to the other side multiple times, while swinging your arms is tiring. even if i have no weights to slow me down. i still did more of a work out than i am used to.
I try to turn off the saw, But realize that the mana amount is almost unchanged. All that killing and the blade could probably keep going for multiple hours. What the fuck. Thats insane.
Now how can i lower it?. I slowly drop it to the ground, But the second the blade touches the ground. Dust and stone fragments get flung to the wall. That the blade is spinning in the direction of.
"Ok" Thats scary. i use telekinesis on the stick. It floats with no problem. HOLY FUCk. Thats actually scary. using the stick as a ranged weapon, i am finally a ranged class. The problem is if someone uses some anitmagic method and i will lose control of my weapon. The rotating part has such potent magic, that greater dispel methods are needed.
i think with this discover its time to go one level down.
Focus Ritual master gained one level Telekinesis gained 6 levels
120 Coins Gained
Once combat ends. The systems shows all level ups and notifications, not showing anything during, To avoid distracting.
Using telekinesis to move the saw blade around me, making sure it isnt anywhere near. to avoid killing my self by accident. i walk towards the boss room. The boss respawns every hour and most repawns are already prebooked, for other people to come in and kill him.
I am going to go to the boss room and go to the next level through that way. rather than meet people with the saw blade out and deployed. If someone touches it, then they would die, Even if they are 30 levels above me. My focus is Great . Thats no joke, my class is supposed to hit way above its weight class, when prepared and not be able to contend with anyone, when unprepared.
The boss room is actually occupied. when i came in, there were people fighting the boss. Very young. most of them must be teenagers or preteens. Their focuses are low level and cant contend against me, even when i was only Uncommon quality Labour focus.

"Hey old man give us a hand." Hey, i am not that old.
They are fighting a Giant gnome riding a king rat. rats are jumping out of the wall. at the order of the rat king. Its more of a party vs boss battle with occasional waves of enemies.
"Do you actually need help" Experience is granted on a contribution bases. If i join and insta kill the boss. Then their experience gain is ruined and they would not receive as much of a reward.
"CANT YOU SEE WERE LOSING."He turns his head and screams at me.
"Okay, Dont say i didnt warn you"
"warn us abo-" My saw sweeps in and decapitates both gnome and rat king. Ending the battle right then and there.
"WHAT. HOW" The blade wielder of the group is baffled. His face a mask of confusion.
"What happened." A wand wielding mage apprentice asks.
"Is that a spell" The bard, a smooth faced lad. With blond hair in the shape of a bowl cut.
I didnt even level up, this floor is to weak. For me to stay any longer. The group of kids seem like rich kids or something like that. Even tho their levels and quality is low, they still have full equipment. armor and weapons that complements them.
"You have a shield, Was what you did a skill or something." The sword wielder, Dark haired and heavily armored.
"The shield is the spell, the other thing is also a spell." The sawblade is near me buzzing with power and gushing wind. All of them look at me.
"Why are you at this floor, if you're high level." The mage asked me, a girl with curly black hair.
"Just testing a new spell." i tell them. When mentioning a new spell. They all look at my sawblade.
"Is that it." The swordman point at the saw blade.
"yea, thats the new spell . What are you all doing here, most people that pay to fight the boss. Usually have a high level person to protect them." i asked, Not really knowing. If they are just risk takers or desperate.
"We are training, I just didnt know who to fight the boss. so we were losing from that." the swordmans speaks for the group. So i assume hes the leader.
"Oh. so you can have someone to look out for you. But choose not to?"
"yea." All of them murmur, in an unintentional unison.
"Well good luck" i wave goodbye to them and walk to leave.
"Wait. What if you power level us. We can make it worth your while." The bard boy says.
"We dont need his help, we managed fine on our own." the mage girl whispers to him
"we need someone high level to speed up the leveling process."the swordsman consoles her.
"Sir, would you help level us up for 300 Coins" The bard speaks again.
"Sorry, but i really dont have time or the ability to help you" i give a half assed smile and shrug my shoulders.
"You just killed the boss, with absolutely no effort, how can you not be able to."
"Its more of a temporary spell, it could fail at anytime with no warning, I am going to go, if you need help to get to the outside, i can escort you." They might be scared of going off on their own.
"No we are fine." The swordsman gathers his items.
"Bye then." i am confused why they cant get the professional power levelers. Everyone has their reasons for doing things. I try not to nose in.
"bye bye." The group says their goodbyes and goes back to hunting gnomes and rats. I feel bad for not helping them, but i really want to use the sawblade as much as possible without wasting the empowerment from the ritual.
I walk toward the next level. Its a stairway, That leads downwards. i continue down the stairs. With the sawblade infront of me. Moving it with telekinesis. Keeping my self safe from the blade killing me. If i trip.
The next floor is a fungal forest. With mushroom men and Gnats. You could say they are pretty fun guys. The gnats are bugs tho. Dog sized with scary mandibles. The mushroom men dont have tool uses. But their bodies have insane vitality. If you stab it, than you would need to cut it into pieces.
Good thing their bodies are soft, Otherwise the difficulty of this floor would have reached insane levels. The combo of flying dog-sized bugs. Makes it very difficult to deal with already.
I am hoping my saw and shield combo would be enough to deal with them. I know the mushroom dont stand a chance. But the bugs might be too agile for me. Well you wont know until you try.
I reach the end of the stairs. The fungal forest is in full view.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.

The Bronze Players of Recreation
The world of Creation has seen a recent explosion of what can only be called an adventurer’s culture over the past few decades. People who were once looked at as nothing more than lower class mercenaries rose to the ranks of heroes and legends as adventuring became recognized as an idealized lifestyle of overcoming hardship and finding triumph. With the establishment of a guild-based government system on the continent of Terramania, adventurers were soon legitimized and adventuring became a phenomenon universally accepted around the world. Redlette had retreated from this world to live on Earth for the remainder of her years, having been born and outcast by the gods of Creation. However, upon meeting a friend that she treasured dearly, she found herself longing for a return to her world—she wanted to experience it properly and go on adventures with someone whom she holds dear. Putting a plan into action, she meets with her friend, an awkward, nerdy boy by the username of Herring who she’d only known through years of playing online games with him, and invites him to go on this fantastic adventure with her. An adventure in another world had always been an impossible dream for Herring, but when he suddenly found himself with the opportunity to embark on one, he knew it wouldn’t be as simple as books and shows made it out to be. Redlette was notorious for rushing into things without thinking them through, and he was flighty and weak. In the games they played together, they rarely grasped victory. They were losers through and through, both in hobby and life. Despite this, though, he takes the leap and sets off with Redlette into the world of Creation. Together they only had one goal: to have fun and go on the adventure of their lives. This time, they’d establish a guild of their own and be free to take on whatever exploits their hearts desired. This is the story of the founding of their guild. Author’s Notes: -My writing style is largely based off of the absurd amount of light novels I’ve read and anime I’ve watched, so it may come off as cartoonish or exaggerative at times. If that isn’t your thing, I’d steer clear of this story.-Not an MMO story.-No numerical stats.-Relatively slow pacing.-Posts are between 2000-5000 words weekly after Chapter 1.
