《That Isn't My Imaginary Friend(Cancelled)》S2 28: We Meet Again

Missiles whisked past the protective barrier, weakening the hopes of the civilians as explosions were seen erupting from far away in the newest war ground with the Resistance in the south, the Terrorists in the north, and the government in the west. The children cried rings through the tunnelling fog that had a few sights of firefight happening inside. Zane stood at the entrance of the base with his machine gun ready to take action whenever a hostile approaches. He wasn't alone though, forty more soldiers stood guard just in case.
"Some government troops had slipped past our line. Be ready to protect the base!" A grunting female through the radio gave off a loud static noise, alarming the already terrifying present. Zane cocked his gun carefully watched through the forests to see if any were sneaking up on the turf.
"They're coming!" A soldier screamed upon the horizon of one hundred multi-camo soldiers wielding their guns and began to blind fire. Traces zipped past Zane as he jumped through a bigger enough hole resembling a window so he could at least protect himself.
Many more soldiers from inside the woods attacked the base from both sides, seriously overwhelming the small force Zane was roled into. Two resistance soldiers drop dead after the majority of the resistance soldiers started returning the shooting under the sounds of rockets bursting onto the thick walls that began to crack from the pressure.
Zane poked his head up and slammed his gun on the interior of this resembled window he jumped through and immediately shot at a couple of targets, dropping them dead as Zane continued firing after reloading his gun. While in his conflict, a soldier of his team was hacked down right next to him, Zane glanced at the dead fighter beside him and saw his empty eyes stare back at him in agony as blood dripped from his wound from the head that divulged textures of the brain gashed up.

"A TANK IS HEADING TOWARDS OUR WAY!" One of the fighters warned, as soon as he said that, many resistance soldiers dropped their guns and wept in fear. Zane heard the statement and drifted his eyes over to the descending hill to hear a roaring machine gradually drive up the road with sounds of ammo clanking into the loaded system.
"Zane! Don't die!" The child from yesterday cried, grabbing Zane's attention as the young boy struggled with the guards of the place, Zane watched the crowd multiple and all of them were watching Zane, nobody else, but Zane.
"Why do they depend on me that much?" Zane muttered to himself as he shifted his head around to locate anything that would do damage. As he looked around, Zane felt a rocket launcher lying across the ground next to a shivering soldier defeated by the war and deaths fastened around him. Zane left his position and walked over to the rocket launcher, casually dodging the bullets, near the civilians, seeing it was loaded and there was a whole box of rockets hidden in a corner shattered by the blood of death.
Zane grabbed the rocket launcher, quickly jogged back to his position and mounted the weapon to aim at the tunnel of the tank that directly faced him. The wind whipped the ground and created a volcano outburst as the tank shot towards Zane who shot back. A boom occurred and tornadoes of winds spiralled around the explosion in the middle of the tank and Zane, this collected moment ringed the eardrums of the nearest soldiers and scratched their eyes, the most needed thing in battle.
Knowing the tank takes longer to reload, Zane hastily reloaded the rocket launcher and shot another round into the tank's engine before loading the rocket launcher again with the ready rocket resting in his palms. The violent whizzing noises of a shot tank followed by a bang ripped past Zane's ears as an intimate cloud of orange exploded right onto Zane's wall, immediately breaking the hinges of the devastating wall and forced it to disintegrate above Zane's trapped location.

"I had a boring life," Zane mumbled to himself as he promptly watched the roof collapsed onto him into small portions with some fractions of the ceiling having metals bars sticking out and facing Zane.
"Finally, I got in contact with you after what looked like for years. I will not allow you to die in my hands," A familiar voice whispered into Zane's ears, the whisper was followed by a flick of a green filter that only appeared in Zane's right eye for a split second and it looked like a thin line of green pricky lightning zapping at Zane's inky veins. Thus, the world became deformed with a watery filter printed over it, the fundamental world in Zane's mind was now seen moving one mile per hour.
"Huh?" Zane slipped out one of his thoughts as he looked around, noticing everything he saw slowed down extraordinarily.
"Before you ask, I will give you a clear answer. Yes, I'm the turtle but I don't have a lot of time because I spent most of it trying to interact with you," The woman slightly giggled into the midst of the emptiness and soundless world.
"I know, I was wondering what this thing happening to me was about," Zane responded, flicking an endlessly floating bullet with a visible transparent force field that circled the bullet.
"This is my power, I can see the world in a perspective of one mile per hour. The fastest thing or light speed won't cheat its way through this dimensional barrier, everything will become one mile per hour once activated," She explained.
"What's your name?"
"Flyta, Goddess of Speed—but, you can just call me Bria. I dropped that title a while ago-"
"And why did you choose me out of these people?"
"Like I said in our first interaction. I'm here to bless your soul once again,"
"Bless my soul? It's already gone, what else can you do? You're useless at this point."
"No no, you're very wrong, Zane. I know there's still a slim light awaiting you to flick it on. You may feel empty and emotionless, but I know you're in there."
"Why go to these far lengths to change me to who I previously was?"
"hehe, it's because I'm your second guardian."

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?

Another World's Homunculus
Ellis Murrin died an unexpected death, but before he could experience the sweet bliss of eternal rest, a God-like being whisked him away. The God told a tale of another world in grave jeopardy and the need for a hero (or several heroes) to go there and save the people. It was looking to be a typical story of transmigration when suddenly, something unexpected happened. Now, he finds himself standing in the middle of an ancient tomb, with a lineage that wasn’t exactly normal and a body that wasn’t entirely human. Reincarnation of a Businessman
A businessman is betrayed by those he holds dearest and reincarnates into a mystical world of cultivation where the power of a single person can split the heavens. However, his reincarnation does not go smoothly... ******************** This is a xianxia (cultivation/progression fantasy) story which fuses a lot of western fantasy elements. This story includes POV's of different characters which are all going to be developed in the future and will have an effect on the story. The novel is named after the reincarnation of the businessman which serves as a cataclysm in the world of cultivation, and while the MC uses some of his business knowledge, this novel is not centered around the MC creating a business empire. I plan to extend the story into at least 2 books, both taking place in the same world. ******************** Updates will happen once every 2 days, but this is often going to change to once every day or once every 3 days because I am not currently writing full-time, and neither is my editor.
