《That Isn't My Imaginary Friend(Cancelled)》10: Zane Fog, Becoming The Predator He Ran Away From

Heavy, rushed footsteps followed by sounds of crushing force into the wet mud where dangerous rain stormed its way down onto the newly dried up ground.

The milky moon hovered over the depleted breathing Zane produced from running miles on miles trying to get away from the suspicious school he lived in, he kept glimpsing behind him every second seeing if he was being chased down by his predators.

The rain continued its artillery bomb fire onto Zane's widely opened position as water plopped down from flooded, ripped leaves that bent inwards from all the pressure rain caused.

All that was heard was the sounds of Zane stomping his way through the forest and sounds of endless black holes whispering throughout Zane's dirty ears he early on slipped onto from hurrying his sprint speed.

Zane then on slipped over a dirty infested pool, flipping and rubbing his bare body across the newly developed path of dirt recreating the print Zane dented into it, damp mud scattered across Zane like expensive glue, shading his pale skin to brown, sloppy mud that hanged onto its final last stands.

"God damn it…" Zane groaned, finally splatting onto his back, slamming his hand into the sucking mud which created chains of events where water and mud exploded everywhere, splashing onto the wooden logs connecting to enormous trees covering the glowing moon.

"Went by...so quick" Zane whispered in utmost pain, aching his way onto his crumbling knees.

Ignoring the mess he produced, climbed on his feet to scrape his way across the puddles of destruction, travelling miles covered in the smell of geosmin.

Sun rose like a fully-fledged bird on their very flap of the decades, glimmering the surroundings of where Zane wandered past, casting a scrambled shadow behind his camouflage figure of dirt.

Welcoming smells infiltrated Zane's smell like he was being called from very far distances which got closer every step he took, once he figured out the location the skyline-silver, peaceful and statues still lake introduced itself to a fallen prey.

"W-Water" Zane squeezed out with all the force he had left, crashing through the water curved entrance as soon as he reached the line where dirt crossed the boundaries of land, being pulled under the breathless waves.

The messy boy lasted no seconds washing away the mud, inspecting the stains dissolve into absolute thin air then slithered towards the tricky depth ground.

Freshly cleaned school clothes hung from a helping tree, letting the air drain the wetness that dripped every few seconds, forming baby puddles while Zane tucked his connected palms under the water to drink what spread its waves across his palms, allowing him to slurp up all of the water.

"All I need now is to find food" Zane softly spoke to himself, glimpsing around him to see he was in the middle of nowhere where light and the dark battled it out to survive to their fullest, rough, tall trees stood their ground around the sparkling lake, blocking off its escape.

Then sounds of an unpleasant squeak revealed itself inside the maze trees, grabbing the attention of Zane who grabbed a destructive rock in a flash beside him, Zane roamed sneakily into the trees, spotting a white, fluffy bunny eating away on irritating grass.

Allowing the hunger to overthrow him, lobbed the disastrous rock at the distracted bunny, giving him an easy kill as the bunny yelped in pain, following the sounds of a light swat onto the dirt.

As Zane approached the lifeless bunny, he didn't feel any remorse for it, he just looked at the bunny more as food than anything, expressing no sympathy for the limp bunny at all.

Zane, naked in his boxes, followed the track he came from and sat near his drying clothes, clashing two rocks against each other over an organised wood circle which had torn off leaves placed in the middle to give off an appealing effect.

Sparkles crashed from out of the clashing rocks, landing onto the middle of the wooden campfire, setting the middle into small hectic flames in an instant, warming Zane and heating the rabbit meat Zane held from his silky hands.

After heating the rabbit meat to the right temperature, he chewed into the meat, feeling its smooth texture rip down his throat, giving the taste of a stronger, earthier chicken flavour, pleasing his rumbling stomach he dealt with the entire period of hunting down the rabbit.

"A new home here I come" Zane chuckled to himself, proudly facing into the forest, feeling the gentle wind thicket across his cleaned scarred skin, feeling fresh for the first time in a while.

Once a student now is a survivor in the forest, a figure that became a dangerous sight to see for the animal kingdom since his rumbling stomach needed to feed on the animal flesh.

If animals were found, they admitted their defeat and accepted their fate of death as they were being ripped apart by a ravenous beast who showed no remorse in his killings.

Thunderstorms couldn't stop this monster, he was dedicated to taking down all the edible meat he could find.

Cold temperatures weren't stopping him in his evolving tracks, it just made Zane more strong and dangerous.

He became something he never expected he would become, something he always ran away from, never learning the weak spots of this trembling thought.

A thought that dragged him down to its hell, locking him in the darkness, locking him away from the advantages, keeping him in a paranoid state.

The military meeting wasn't a disaster for Zane, it was like a fallen angel choosing Zane out of all the people to become the next powerful, breathtaking angel.

Zane unlocked the overwhelming goals he always wanted to unlock, but couldn't because of the tremendous anxiety that never allowed Zane to flap his wings freely.

It was his braveness, his fighting spirit, his newly developed tough skin.

He became the devilish predator he always desperately ran away from.
