《That Isn't My Imaginary Friend(Cancelled)》8: Zane Fog, The Other Version

Loud engines screeched behind closed windows, sounding muted but alerted everyone in the school property.
Students and teachers headed outside their dorms in a confused state while they watched military trucks park up to the school gates, being followed by three groups of tens of soldiers who had future tech guns pointed to the ground, ready to shoot anytime.
Baffled crowds breathe balls of fluff, shuddering from the attacking winter which felt like dogs biting onto their skins as the wind pushes through the inviting sky like a brutal force firing all they have.
"No questions, stand in a formal line and wait until your names get called out!" An old voice pointed out, sending waves of loud vibrations past easily irritated ears from a small wired up megaphone.
The male principal who was bent over in his old age approached the announcer, sneakily covering their mouth as they both received words from each other, then the principal handed the announcer a clipboard lapped by tons of sheet papers on the student's identities.
Thereon names were called in to shut off sections where four military trucks cover up any holes that would give away what was happening behind closed doors, Zane pandered at tbe refilling snowy ground, eavesdropping on the conversations the soldiers were having behind the cosy trucks.
Continuous voices from behind the trucks came to a sudden halt, leading onto seconds before the sound of a bang sung throughout the outside, sending fear down the peaceful students who were about to make a run for it but the guarding soldiers snapped their guns toward them in an instant.
"Everyone calm down!" One of the soldiers demanded.
"What was that bang all about?!" A student's voice cried out in the scared flock.
A nausea smell came across Zane's nose where it was sucked in from the inhaling, giving him the smell of a metallic taste, a smell that turned Zane's whole face dead white, he knew what exactly this smell was but couldn't tell why he knew this smell.

"B-Blood?" Zane choked out in an unconscious, feared voice.
Soldiers facing Zane wore a guilty look on their faces as they rushed over to a passing Zane, as soon as they reached Zane, he was already seeing stars swing in front of his opened up eyes, he felt light all over his nerves, letting the last moments be soldiers face checking on him.
All Zane could hear in this pitch-black darkness was eerie hums reverbing each other, Zane felt his feet become all numb the moment he realises he was splashing in artic water.
Questions roamed inside Zane's mind, questioning what was happening? Questioning where he was? Until two massive blinking eyes revealed themselves in a luminous way, red liquid poured from outside the two frightening red, dreadful eye sockets.
The enormous eyes followed Zane's every movement, who stumbled to the ground in fright from what he was seeing, his body drowned painfully while Zane stared back at the eyes, feeling his heart rip itself in lighting speed beats, feeling his arms leave him under the utmost apprehension Zane felt from these eyes.
"W-who are you?!" Zane choked out, hearing his nervous voice scream it back to him.
His question went unheard and wasn't answered the longer the seconds became seconds to minutes to what felt like hours, Zane poked around to find an answer on where he was but all it was, was endless space gloom looping for unlimited eternity.
Grabbing his courage, he stood up in a straight stance still feeling the misery, eyes watching his every movement, his school clothes were drenched with black shaded water, this didn't stop him from wandering miles through the endless deep ends.
"What is happening with me lately? Everything around me feels fake from how Angela and Ryan spoke with me after leaving me in the dark for months...did I accidentally get transferred to another planet?" Zane questioned himself, feeling pressured and uneasy to not find out the answers, so he continued his walks where he never got tired.

Far ahead appeared a glowing circle of light in a way it felt like Zane was being welcomed and being forced to lure into this exposing position.
Zane explored the lines of this glowing light he encountered, closing in on a cracked spot into the empty wall, Zane confused glanced at the eyes who followed him all the way here, the eyes stared back at Zane, occasionally directing at the cracked light.
"You want me to do something with this?" Zane asked the luminous eyes, receiving no answers but something in Zane's stomach told him it was a yes.
So Zane did what his stomach told him to, he pressed his skinny fingers up onto the crack light where his fingers slipped through reality and were faced with a hard wind.
Taken back on what happened, Zane felt a force from in the abyss push him through this cracked wall, not collecting his balance in time, and fell roughly onto the deserted, wrinkled ground.
Zane popped his head up, facing a drained pool dying next to a crumbling tree, then he spotted a black sea turtle approach him with its red, leaking, dimmed eyes which stared right back Zane in a peaceful way, not in a threatening way.
"What the fuck is happening" Zane whispered in a baffled manner, being covered in brutal sandstorm winds, leading him to cover up his eyes slightly.
"Long time no see, boy" A deep voice announced itself in a ten-foot height shadowy figure, Zane's eyes widened in shock, he remembered this figure from his past, he remembered this was the figure he was looking for all these years since its disappearance.
"Where have you been?!" Zane raged through the tough, battling force.
"I've been here from the very beginning, boy. It's just that a certain something was trapping me from entrancing your split side" The voice deeply apologizes with an explanation.
"Split side?" Zane asked helplessly, watching the winged shadow take a deep breath.
"When I became one with you, a part of you fought their way out of the system, it was a very dangerous amount of my power that went on to create a different version of you, but instead with a soul. It became an endless space taking over you from now and then to satisfy your revenge" The voice illustrated clearly.
"So were the eyes from that darkness the other version of me?" Zane curiously questioned.
"Yes, you were in your other-selves territory, we both agreed to allow you to see us so you wouldn't face trouble with the soldiers future on" The voice calmly answered.
A meeting with his other version, which is considered a meeting with the devil.

The Complete Alchemyst book 2
Continuation of the Alchemyst book 1 Sometimes to be the good guy, you gotta be the bad guy. This is a story about Louis, a guy that was just trying to get along before he got kidnapped and forced to play cook by a Cartel. He's no Heisenberg, however. Now that he's out of Prison and put a beat down on some of the folks that put him away, he's facing the real pressures of Life as a single-person superpower: Everyone wants to use him for their own purposes. Along the way he's met a few girls, some good, some bad. He's looking to save the world, establish an evil empire, secure a future for the people he considers his, and maybe finally kill that damned superhero that started it all. This is not 'the boys'. Not all superheroes or supervillains are evil, The 'super' world is expanding to include aliens, magic, and the children of ancient deities and legends. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate.

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
