《-The World Saga-》Chapter 32: Magical Gifts

I struggle underneath my chains trying free myself. I do not know how much time has passed since I’ve locked in this place. After one more attempt, I stop struggling. The silence is maddening. The complete darkness feels like I am being strangled. My head slumps over as I think back to happy times.
I stand over a mountain range watching over my kingdom. After taking in how many wolves I hunted today, it is time to see how my people are doing. I quickly jump from the mountain driving strike for the ground. I land gracefully kicking up a cloud of fresh snow. I breath in a smelling the mountains cold giving me a rush. I start sprinting toward the tribe jumping to a tree overlooking the tribe. This tribe has always been my favorite for how ruthless they were. Killing nonstop. Leaving nothing alive. My thoughts are stopped when I notice a human tumbling down a hill. I watch him somewhat annoyed at him ruining my current paradise. He sits up covering up in snow, His shaggy blonde hair is covered in snow as his light blue eyes look up at me. Looking him over I figure that he is a warrior. A weak looking warrior. I jump down from the tree standing over him. He looks up at me as I walk past him.
“You wouldn’t be the Sister.. Would you?” Within a blink of an eye, I grab him picking him up by his throat. I press him into a nearby tree. I glare at him smirking slightly. I feel joy when I can sense the fear in something. It gives me such a rush that I can’t explain it. I... wait.. something is wrong. I can’t sense anything from him. I glare into his eyes growing angry.
“Does that answer your question.” He coughs slightly nodding with a smile on his face. I growl angrily dropping him to the ground.
“Yes it does.” How does this human not fear me? He stands up brushing off the snow off his outfit. I look him over as he smiles at me. “I’ve been looking for you Sister. I heard you’ve defeated every warrior in battle no matter how strong they were.”
“If you are even considering fighting me, I would rip out your throat even before you can lay a finger on me.” He starts to laugh causing me to grow angrier. “What’s funny?” He wipes a tear from his eye smirking at me.
“I have no doubt you could destroy me, but I know I could defeat you in other ways.” A deep growl causes him to look at me interested.
“That’s false. No one can defeat me. I am the Sister. God of the Northern Mountains and who are you to think that you could defeat me?” His smiles sends me over the edge gripping his throat lifting him up higher. Still no fear comes from him. He coughs slightly trying to speak.
“Alexander Sister.” I growl staring at him. “How about you test me then?” The nerve of this human thinking he can defeat me. I slow evil grin spreads across my face as I drop him. He coughs slightly rubbing his neck.
“Fine. I will. Bring me the head of the most dangerous terrifying beast in all the lands.” He looks interested causing my confidence in him to fail to raise greatly.
“What happens when I do that?” His confidence shakes my core slightly causing me to laugh slightly. When was the last time I laughed? I shake my head angry.

“You will fail.”
“But what if I don’t?”
“You will.” I growl through my teeth. He smiles a cocky grin.
“So if I do somehow defeat this thing, what’s the benefit for me?” I pause realizing he is playing me like a fool.
“If you do, I will give you anything in the world, However, you will fail and die.” He smirks sticking his hand out to me.
“Deal.” I grab his hand squeezing it tightly. No reaction. I let go seeing him head off to his doom. To bad that he is going to die. He would have been a great warrior under my training. It is rare to have someone show no fear of a monster.
I smile with tears in my eyes as the memory fades. I hear the door open and I look up to see one of my brothers. I glare at him and struggle underneath my chains.
“Sister. We have questions.” I laugh at him and spit in his direction.
“Hell. No.” He walks closer raising his hand lightning forming in his hands.
“How do you inhabit the world below?” As lightning flies from his fingertips, I close my eyes trying to brace myself. I open my eyes after a few moments realizing that I wasn’t hit. I open my eyes waking up from my weird dream.
I sit up in a cold sweat as I try to shake out the weird dreams. I look over at James noticing that he is still fast asleep. It looks to be early in the morning. I try to calm my nerves standing up. What’s with the woman chained up? I go over sitting next to the dying fire. I rub my arms trying to figure out what the dreams are supposed to mean. I let James sleep for a few more minutes then go to wake him up.
“James.. It’s time to wake up..” He yawns grumbling something.
“... Fine.” He slowly gets up yawning. He stretches slighting in every which way. Once we clean up the camp, he looks at the letter. He looks at me. “It should take us a couple of more days of travel to get to our town.” I roll my eyes at that.
“What about his friends?” He looks at the map again.
“One or two more after that.” We start our travels again traveling east. As we travel eastward, the surrounding forest starts to break up into smaller farmlands. With the forest being so dense and overgrown, small farms are used instead of the traditional huge farm. One thing catches my eye as James grabs my hand pulling me it. At one of the small farms, we see a small caravan where a good-sized crowd has gathered around a few people. I look at James getting annoyed.
“We need to go James.” He holds hand up and looks at me.
“I want to see what this is about Ash. Give me a second. “For all this talk about getting home, he is sure distracted easily. I huff annoyed deciding to watch with him. A somewhat small man stands in the middle of the crowd.
“Welcome one and all to Cameron’s Traveling Circus. Bringing you all the mystical and wonder that one person needs.” He smiles making a few flowers appear in his hands. A few of the children laugh with the women. The men in the crowd appear to have a different take on the guy. One of them boo’s and throws an apple at him. The small man dodges out of the way and frowns toward the man for a second. “My first act will shock and awe you. She is beyond beautiful and deadly. Everyone welcome… Elizabeth the cloaked assassin!” A cloaked figure jumps out from the caravan and lands in front of everyone. She remove their cloak to show a stunning women underneath. I see curly raven black hair with a mixture of light green and blue eyes. Her flawless skin is untouched except for a tiny scar underneath her eye running along her cheek bone. She is dressed in a black tight shirt and red leggings. A few men whistle as everyone stares in shocked as she pulls out two daggers. Both daggers are black with red stain going down the middle of the blades. The small man starts to toss items into the air and the woman starts to dance around her blades cutting each item thrown. After she stops, everyone starts to clap. She bows her head and jumps back behind the caravan. I look at James shocked.

“That was amazing..” James nods in agreement and looks at me. “Now let's go.” He sighs as I notice him rolling his eyes.
“Fine.” As we start to go to leave, a bright flash of light blinds me as I look away. Once my vision comes back to me, I look to see what caused the flash of light. I see two men standing next to each other. One is about seven feet tall looking like man stronger than anyone or thing near this place. He has muscles on muscles. He is wearing only pants which cause a few women to cat call. He has a shaved head and deep brown eyes. The man standing next to him is a lot smaller than him. He is about my height which is about 5’ 1”. His long brown hair and his eyes match the man. He is wearing common clothes. The announcer starts to shout.
“Meet the Amazing Twins!” A few people start to laugh at the two as the bald man stares at the crowd. The long haired man smiles as a cloud of smoke envelops him. Once the smoke clears, he is nowhere to be seen. A few people gasp as the bald man starts to lift the cart up. He starts to press it over his head and show off his strength. He keeps doing feats of strength as something catches my eye. I look over to see the smaller man pick pocketing from a few people. He looks over at me realizing that he has been discovered. He disappears from sight. A cloud of smoke appears above the bald man as the smaller man drops from the air. The bald man catches the man, and both strike a pose. People start clapping as both men disappear in a cloud of smoke. James looks at me as the announcer starts to say thank you for coming to the show.
“Ready to go?” I frown looking through my bag making sure nothing was taken. I look at him once I make sure I have everything.
“Check your bag.” He pauses confused slightly checking the bag. He freezes for a second realizing something is missing.
“My needle is gone.” The caravan starts to leave as I hear a few people start to say that someone stole their money also. James frown realizing what happened sprinting after one of the carts.
“James! It’s just a needle!” I chase after him realizing that I wouldn’t be able to reason with him. I see James stopped as the carts make their way down the road. I look at him, “Are you done chasing after them?” He covers his arm from me as I glare at him. I look at it notice it’s bleeding more than usual. I frown and slap his upper arm hard. “Idiot. You know you can’t keep doing this.” He doesn’t say anything as I start to bandage up his arm. Whenever James attempts to do a new or different magic, he ends up using a lot of his blood. Our teacher told him multiple times that he can’t keep doing that or he would use all of it. I glare at him once I finish. “What do you do?”
“A tracking spell..” He says annoyed. I glare at him hitting on the upper arm again.
“It’s just a stupid needle James. We don’t need to cause issues about it.” He looks at me slightly angry.
“They can’t just steal from us Ash. I won’t let people treat us like we are nothing. I am going to go get back my needle back. You can either come with me or not.” I shake my head at him noticing his bandage becoming soaked with blood. I roll my eyes slightly feeling a little worried for him.
“Fine. We need to hurry than.” He pauses slightly surprised and smirks happy. He leads the way catching up with them a hour later. We come upon the camp that the caravan made. I look over the camp taking everything I can in. I see the woman and the bald man sitting next to a small fire. The somewhat small man and the disappearing man are counting money. James charges the camp before I can stop him. I tense up trying to stop him. I grab him as a knife hits the ground in front of him. He pauses as the woman stands ready with another knife. The bald man starts to walk to the two other men. The somewhat small man looks up from counting the money.
“.. How did you find us?” James glares at the small man.
“It doesn’t matter. I just want my needle back.” The bald man stands behind the disappearing man . The small man starts to laugh nervously. He looks over to the disappearing man.
“You took a needle?” I try to pull James back as he stands firm. The disappearing man looks at both of us interested. The woman readies another dagger as James quickly tries to pick up the knife. The woman throws a knife cutting his pants. The women runs toward us hitting James in the stomach causing him to double over. She quickly picks up both knifes uses placing them on vital points on James. I see the small man hold of the needle smiley. “Ah.. I see. He must a be mage. That’s why you were able to track us. You can stop Elizabeth.” Elizabeth looks at both us for a second before removing her knifes from James. She heads back to the fire as James glares at her. The disappearing man appears behind me as I jump at his voice.
“He doesn’t look like a mage boss?” I quickly turn around frowning at him. He looks me up and down disappearing again. James stands back up holding his stomach glaring at them. The small man shakes his head at the disappearing man.
“You don’t look like a mage Lomie. The boy has a weird magic.” Lomie rolls his eyes at the small man and looks at the bald man. “What do you say Hugo?” Hugo doesn’t say anything and looks at both at us. Lomie looks down at us smirking. “Think they will join Cameron?” James starts to get pissed and yells at them.
“I just want my needle back!” Cameron holds his small hands up trying to act innocent.
“Alright. We can give your needle back but its about to get dark soon. I would love it to have you guys stay with us. For at least for dinner?” James frown angry at them about to say no., I walk past him annoyed at his act.
“Fine. You better have hot food.”
