It was a simple accommodation. It had a single bed tucked into a corner, one table, one chair, one lamp and a bookshelf that was currently empty. It also had a carpet in the center that could be used for meditation.

The pair took a good look at the place then jumped into bed.

The next day youth and wolf left their house while other disciples also walked down the mountain towards the same pavilion, all of them with anticipation in their eyes.

Inside, Mentor 1 was waiting with his eyes closed but still gave everyone the feeling that he was watching them.

When everyone arrived he opened his eyes. “Good morning everyone, I hope you had a good night’s sleep. Today we will continue where we left off yesterday..”

“So first of all, let's talk about missions. They are your way to win contribution points that as you know can be exchanged for rewards.”

“There's a wide variety of missions to choose from, they range from something as simple as taking care of spirit herbs to something that could kill you if you are not careful. Obviously the points you receive depend on the mission you take.”

“You guys need to do at least one mission per month, take that as .... your tuition.”

“If you want a break from completing missions you can always stack them. For example, if you complete 12 missions this month you will be excused from doing any other missions during the next 11 months. Is everything clear?”

All the youths nodded slightly. This part was boring and not the one they were looking forward to but it was nonetheless important. It would be pathetic if anyone was expelled because they didn't comply with such a simple rule, they would probably die of shame.

“Good.”

Mentor 1 turned around and was just about to take the first step when he hesitated and looked behind him.

“I can see that you aren't all that thrilled about the idea of missions so I recommend that you check out the reward shop when you have some time, your view might change…”

After dropping that recommendation he once again turned and walked in the direction of a warehouse.

When they crossed through the doors they noticed that both the walls and doors were extremely thick and the temperature had also dropped a bit. Massive shelves were aligned with the two side walls creating a large corridor between them that stretched through the whole warehouse.

On those shelves were a vast amount of weapons. all made to the highest degree of quality that could be achieved by a forger who doesn’t cultivate. They were common weapons but extremely well made.

Most people's eyes lit up, especially the ones that had a more frugal life growing up, it was excitement and even a drop of greed.

Now was the time to pick their weapons.

“Right now we are in the mortal weapons warehouse which is naturally where we store our mortal ranked weapons. They are mostly made by extremely skilled mortal smiths.”

“You have one hour to look around and choose a weapon.”

While everyone was rushing towards the shelves looking excitedly at the massive variety of weapons, Aegon inspected his dagger with a frown on his face.

[ I’ve been using this dagger for ages, I can feel that it isn’t a perfect fit for me but I have no idea what kind of weapon that would be.]

As he was pondering about the matter, a boy that made it into the top 10 spotted a pair of twin blades resting on the shelf. They were single-edged swords that slightly curved outward towards the end.

He moved towards them and picked up one of them.

“This one might be it”

After inspecting it for a while he brandished it. It looked rough from a veteran perspective but for a kid it was above average.

“Yeah this one is surely made for me, such a good one-edged sword.”

He turned towards Mentor 1 with happiness plastered on his face.

“Senior, I made my choice.” He presented that single-edged sword waiting eagerly for a nod of approval.

However, that nod of approval never came, being replaced by a look of pity on Richard's face.

[ Oh poor child…]

An old voice echoed in the warehouse, it sounded majestic, profound and demanded everyone's attention. “That's a good choice but remember that it is part of a set so go fetch the other one.”

“Hmmm but senior I only use one sword, why would I need the other one?”

The pity in Richard's face deepened.

Everyone heard a cold snort and wind seemed to blow inside the warehouse until a man appeared right next to Mentor 1, to everyone's surprise he was middle aged and not some old coot like his voice had sounded, he had deep blue eyes and long brown hair. With a frown on his face he looked at the youngster who had the sword in his hand with scorn.

“ WhY wOuLd I nEeD tHe OtHeR oNe?!”
