《Pound Of Joy》Nemesis

See,I knew it.The General Hospital was all chaotic as usual. We had to dash through long throngs of people, and it was exhausting as hell.We waited for decades to take an appointment with almighty,Dr.Smith,or you can say,Dr.Robert James Smith.Founding member, and the lead singer of the band,"The Cure".I'm joking,if he really was Robert James Smith,I would've been to hell, already. The 70's,it was all madness, and mayhem,if you ask me.Whatever,he didn't look like Robert, and neither did resemble Edward Scissor hands. In fact,a decent, and diligent cardiologist;on whom, people believed in,and relied on.
In the waiting lounge..
Kevin,'I'm not sure if bob has already killed the doc?'
Jessica chuckled,'What?bob's not a maniac.So,shut up'
Kevin,'Look, the lady with the cat,on your left'
Jessica,'yeah,so what'
Kevin,'When we were, little bastards, you know,me,and bob.We..we used to steal mangoes from her garden, and she was used to be so pissed at us,Mrs Lont. Whenever, she saw us,she had this look on her face,a unique one which we never understood, was it a form of expressing anger, despise or was it a half smirk splayed across her mouth. She's been waiting here for her turn for a quite time right?.
Jessica,'Yes,almost for a hour'
Kevin,'Wouldn't she be angry?'
Jessica,'Yeah, she is,the look on her face'
Kevin,'Believe me,that's anger, but the look,I was talking about,it's not there, anymore.Maybe, she was happy. She's a widow, she never had children, and never knew the love of a child;to feel that, maybe, she allowed us to steal them mangoes.Turning a blind eye, whenever we stole, displaying weakness so that we come again'

Jessica,'Wow....why don't you meet her'
Kevin,'Now,she's old,and may not remember us'
Doctor Smith,'Take off your shirt,please'
Within a fraction of a second,he takes the shirt off,and calms himself down.
Doctor Smith, places the tunable diaphragm of the stethoscope on his chest, and drags it left, and right along the skin.Focused, and determined;Listening, very quietly:the heart beats.
Doctor Smith,'Take a deep breath'
Bob takes a deep breath, and exhales.
Bob,'What is it,doc?'
Doctor with a sigh replies,'Go into the other room for the ECG,and bring the results back to me'.
Bob,'What's ECG?'
Doctor Smith,'Electrocardiogram'
Bob,'Yeah,ECG.Okay.'
Into his office, there was another door, which led to a laboratory.Bob followed the instructions, and after half a hour in that room.Alas,he comes out with a report, and hands it over to Dr.Smith.
Doctor smith glances over the paper, and examines it.He predicts that bob has a coronary disease, known as "Atherosclerosis"Which is the reason, he feels such squeezing pain in the chest, and coughs time to time.
Doctor Smith scribbled him a prescription for medicines, and gave a fair warning if he doesn't quit smoking,It will have adverse effects, even leading to a heart attack.
Kevin,'Told you,not to smoke so much'
Jessica,'Oh God,It's bad,it's bad,.
Bob shouts aloud on his way,'Where's the fucking egress'
A nurse from behind replies,'It's in the back, sir.'
After getting out of the hospital, they ambled towards the drive way;where they found some kids fighting each other.Bob runs towards them, leaving Jessica, and Kevin behind;he pushes one of the kid away.
Bob in perturbation,'An alien invasion is inevitable, and you assholes are fighting among your own selves.Just kidding, kill yourselves'.

He pushes them again, and moves on,while they keep standing there motionless, and puzzled.
Bob,'Hurry, you shmuck. Start the car,we have to go'
Kevin,'And where are we going,my lord'
Jessica,'Where are the medicines, didn't he give you a prescription?'
Bob,'I forget to buy them.No worries,We'll get them from a medical store on our way home'.
Shimz, said in apprehension,'What happened to Chris?.
Doctor,'It's..'
Shimz,'Speak your mind'
Doctor,'He's alright,he just suffered a nervous breakdown,Jonathan.For God's sake,calm down.'
Shimz,'Is he gonna be fine?'
Doctor,'Just don't talk about the accident for a while,he'll be fine as long as you're there for him'
As Shimz leaves the room,he finds Chris waiting for him on the counter.Chris trudges towards him.
Shimz,'I couldn't breath;I found myself in a confined space as my brother was approaching me.This dizziness became a long sensation, and there I was,a foreigner, waking up in the lands of horror. He confronted me,and I waited impatiently for him to speak. His lips moved, and he uttered something, but I couldn't hear him;I felt numb;I nodded anyway, but I had to listen what he had to say so I asked him,'What?'.He stared right into my eyes, and spoke again, and the words were clear now,"Let's go home, brother".

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
