Rey’s Introduction

Not everyone can make music right? Sure I see people on the street with a hat down and two buckets being tapped in rhythm but it all just sounds like noise. My brother is pretty talented after hearing it for myself the other day and I’ve heard Uke talk about before how Key was the most amazing piano player in the district behind momma. Though, I have yet to hear her play.

My name is Rey and I enjoy making things! Drawing is pretty difficult with a limited amount of paper and ink but, I have been practicing wood craft. Since Key doesn’t really allow me to use a knife, I practice mostly in secret. Sometimes aunt lends me one in the bakery while Key and Uke are working in the front. I feel like they treat me to much like a child even though I am almost nine.

I mean, they told me stories about what they had to go through while they were young so I don’t really understand why I have to be babied. The oldest memory I can remember were these two faces looking down at me. At first it looked like they were the same person and I was seeing double!

Now me? I don’t really resemble either of them. Maybe they only got one half of our parent’s genes and I got the other. Their almond hair. My red hair. Their straight shiny hair. My messy bed head I have all the time even after I wash it.

It just seems like nothing matches. Except it doesn’t really matter. We are family and that will never change.

I never met momma and papa but that’s fine. I have two others just as close. Even if one of us were to be taken away, it will never be for long because we will always be together. You know why? Because this is my family. My first family.
