(The next day morning John was getting ready to go for the examination while wearing a gym suit)

"The adventure guild is responsible for conducting the examination. When one passes the examination they are given an ID which helps them to join raids and calculate their experience and gives details like ability, ability level, physical strength."

(While John was about to set out the phone rung)

Hello, this is John Ryan speaking,

Hey John this is Amon, I heard you were going to take the raider examination, is that true?

Yeah, that's true are you planning to take the exam too? (said, John)

Yeah, I was going to take the exam too because I want to help my father with some research about the Portals.

Ok then see you at the examination man-

(Amon is a friend of John who was been with him in high school)

(John set out to the examination )

(After an hour John finally reached the destination)

When John reached the examination centre he was surprised to see that there were more than 300 people who were taking the examination at an examination centre who looked more than capable to raid a portal but the success ratio of awakening an ability was 3:10.

Only people who have awakened an ability can raid a portal.

(The talent of ranking up also depends on ability, if the gained ability is a weak one then they cannot gain much experience if they cannot gain the experience they will be stuck at the same ranking their whole life)

(some people have high talents so they climb up the ranks in no time)

The first test is ability awakening ahh sounds interesting...

Hey brother! (shouted in a loud voice)

Ahh, so it's you, Amon...

Yeah, you arrived earlier than I expected –Amon

Yes, there was nothing to do at home so I arrived earlier

Naah (hesitatingly), I was just saying that you look so strong so you should go first and win the examination with flying colours. (swallowing) (John)

Hey, Hey, what are you doing now only you sounded so confident and now you are allowing them to pass by. ( Amon)

Are you crazy or something didn't you see how they looked Scary! (John)

Haah, I thought you changed by how mighty you were acting in front of me but you are the same as before. (laughing silently Amon)

Haha, that's not true I was just giving you a chance to act but you hid like a cockroach beside me. (Acting tough) (but feet tremble)

(Rumbling sound and flash came from the stage and all were shocked)

What just happened? (asked John)

Ahh, it's the rare lightning Ability! Someone awakened a lightning ability

(all were surprised because lighting can be only seen in 1 in a thousand people who become raiders)

(John was also starting to get nervous because he was in the next test position to come)

Many people awakened different types of abilities such as space, water, light, shadow, earth, wind and some also awakened fire ability which was also considered rare because only one in 100 raiders can they awaken it.

(Next, it was Amon's turn)

Amon awakened an earth ability that specializes in defence and support but does not have any attacks until it reaches a high rank. (John thinking)

(Amon was not totally happy or sad about it but somewhat disappointed)

It was John turn next.......

He placed his hand on the ability gauging machine then suddenly.....

(The weather had changed significantly clouds were forming like there would be a thunderstorm. It all looked like a legend has fallen on earth. There was silence everywhere after some time the weather had calmed down)

(All people were looking at the administrator who was supervising the examination. The supervisor then checked John's ability but everyone was shocked after knowing the ability)

Because the ability was none other than

(dak! Dak! Dak! dak!)

The,the......... Wind ability.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaat"

(All people were disappointed because they were at least expecting a lightning element or something)

(John was shocked because the wind ability was the weakest of all the abilities. He did not want to believe that he was that pathetic he had gone crazy from that shock because he was hoping that when he awakened a good ability no one would dare to mistreat him or bully him)

(He then took the second test for talent and got an average talent than many raiders)

He went home disappointed and told his sister about how pathetic he was in the examination. His sister cheered him up and said that she believes in his big brother no matter how pathetic he was.

"John also tried to cheer himself up by saying that even after being so weak he was at least able to become a raider and even the basic portals gave him enough financial support than the present job he was working in so he decided to be a raider to support his family even at the cost of his life."
