Chapter 16
The Dark Knight approaches
Remuka, Leofin and Amnophia were traveling through roots of the trees and plants as Remuka had unlocked her complete powers. They had a hearty meal and had started on the move. Once they rose to the ground, the surroundings seemed dark. They were in a cave.
Amnophia began, “Are we in the elf territory?”
“Better than that, I took you directly to the territory of waterbies.”
“Without unlocking the seal of boundaries?” asked Leofin.
Remuka turned towards Leofin, facing him directly in the eyes and said, “Leofin, son of Remeena, the esteemed doo- dad, you carry the power of green magic in your veins along with warrior power, enrich both of those.”
“I am not able to enrich one of my power and you are asking for one more.” asked Leofin.
“We will talk of this later.”
They looked in front of them and there stood one great seal, a cave been sealed, they turned back, there was another seal.
“The one seal we crossed can only be crossed by a doo-dad but the one in front would take something different.’
“You mean we cannot open this.” asked Amnophia.
Remuka ran her fingers through the cave seal, her hands felt the symbols over there understanding its meaning.
Remuka said, “Its ancient rune magic, but magic cannot open it.”
“Then what?” asked Amnophia.
“It says someone from the inside can only open this.”
“So how do we call this someone.” asked Leofin.
Remuka touched one of the runes and spoke a charm. The symbol began to glow and darkness filled the room. Remuka spoke her charm of light but it only produced a dim light, dim enough to see a being in front of them only. I was a lady, but her complexions were dark, her dress was dark and darkness bent around her as to just form a light outline to show someone existed.
She asked, “Who dares to approach the Kingdom of waterbies.”
“I thought it would be full of normal but different beings, not dark beings.” said Amnophia.
“Foolish child, ‘wat’ means dark and ‘erbie’ means land in our language. Who are you? What do you seek?”
“We come to meet the dark knight.” said Leofin.
“No one from outside can cross to this land unless they are eligible of it or there is a sudden need of it.”
“My friend is in danger.” said Leofin.
“So is someone every day.”
“He may die.”
“So does many, everyday.”
“The realm is I danger lady.” said Remuka.

“There are other protectors at ease, who should wat-being fight.”
“I am an Elfian Gemnet, wouldn’t that be enough.’ asked Amnophia.
“You are not an Elfian Gemnet yet Amnophia, wean daughter of Colson.
Leofin remembered what was said to him about eligibility of his sword. He might not have been eligible yet of his sword and it was not unlocked of its complete powers, but the sword was powerful on its own, had a mind and heart of its own.
Leofin advance towards the Lady and said, “O Lady who resides in darkness, see my sword and yet see its value, understand it’s potent and of the wielder too, let us move forth.”
The sword flew from the hands of Leofin to the hands of the Lady, she saw the sword, examined it carefully and then said, “Your sword is worthy of entering, so is its wielder, you. You may choose to carry these two fighter if you need.”
“They are with me, allow them too.”
“They will be allowed as you are. Welcome to the land of waterbies.”
The cave in front of them began to be open, the seal which was covering it began to vanish. The y began to walk inside, suddenly they were flying towards the cave and they were somewhere else. The place was filled with darkness and nothing could they see. The place was full of silence hence nothing could they hear.
“You shall not make much noise nor shall you hear much, you shall not see much unless I perform the spell.”
The lady drew a sign in the air over the three of them and disappeared. The surroundings started to slightly visible to them. The sounds were getting distinct. Everything in that place was composed of only dark objects. Colors were very rarely present most being the shades of black.
Leofin turned to Remuka for explanation, giving her an upraised eye.
“The seal, the Lady decides, it’s a spell, a powerful one.”
“How shall we return.” asked Leofin.
“Hope the dark knight helps us.” said Remuka.
“How shall we find him.” asked Amnophia.
“We start something big to get the attention such that the dark knight will approach us.” said Remuka.
“How might that be.” said Remuka.
“Light.”
Remuka moved her hands and light radiated from her body which kept on flickering until it got extinguished. She turned to Amnophia motioning her to do the same. Amnophia got an arrow in each of her hand and concentrated while her arrows gave a slight glow of red shade. Leofin took the sword in his hand but it did not answer him now.

Remuka moved her body through the air in a rhythmic circle, her body began to glow; she started singing, her body’s color started being visible, the whole of the environment was in light.
Suddenly her light began to get dim and darkness was back again. A steed’s sound was heard and with it came its rider. The horse was same as the other objects, completely black with a faint eerie glow. The rider was sheathed from top to bottom in dark armor, even his sword was dark made of onyx, the rider bent in with the horse as dark as a shadow and moved with thundering heels. Colour was visible on the rider’s face, a pale face. Some of the part of the rider’s armor was engraved with purple gems.
The rider appeared in front of the three and said, “Greetings children of the world of light, you are far from your home.”
Remuka was going to say something, but Leofin said, “You are needed at the capital, if you be the Dark knight.”
“Dark Knight is my name, and darkness bends with me.”
“My friend is in danger, I hope you help us.”
“I am not to protect a particular person or such.”
“But you are supposed to.”
“The world is very big and someone dies every day.”
Remuka came forwards smiling at Leofin. Now that their eyes were adapted to the dark, they could see many things. The effect of the spell of the Lady had an effect, though not much.
Remuka said, “The King requires you, the new foe has risen, the lady of chaos has begun her work.”
Of course, she had been trained properly for these kinds of talks and had been in the settling course of her mother and she surely had a complete idea of dark knight, which was learned from Caddernod, along with having seen a little future during reverie.
“Then the King would have called.”
“The King is out of his throne.”
“Well why? Who has overthrown him?”
“No, none yet, there is a new person of dark power.”
“Well, I am a person of dark power.”
“But fights for the good.”
“How,… no. What kind of dark power does he have?”
“He teleported a whole army on his own, he spread a cloud of darkness over half a town, no light could shine in that darkness, he just got away from me my friend, who was a patrol guard chief.” said Leofin.
“Well how much can I believe from it.?”
“He is a person with firsthand experience as a knight at the court.” said Remuka.
“Names of these powers seem fierce.”
“Maybe, but we need someone who can fight his power.”
“Well, let’s move.”
Four horses were threading through the desert of Menfin. All the stallions were black, one of its riders were completely in black, all of them were tired but enthusiastic, where one was angry, two in sympathy and one doing its duty.
The dark knight had summoned the three horses for the three of them and he had decided to find Krokon.
Dark knight halted moving so did the others, “I sense strong darkness here.”
“We don’t see any darkness just strong light from the Sun.” said Leofin.
“They‘ll probably be under the ground.” said Amnophia.
“We don’t see any darkness here.” repeated Remuka.
“Good! For you beings of light, darkness is very hard to note by.”
“So.”
“So keep quiet and follow me.”
They rode on for a long time. As the horses were fast they covered a huge distance in a small span of time, which otherwise would have been much more. Out of the dunes appeared a castle which had been there earlier. IT was completely black in color and was easily observable.
The dark knight halted, so did the other three.
“Never thought he would be foolish as to create a castle visible from far given his station.”
“Well, he has our attention now.” said Remuka.
“Now all of you wait here while I bring that Krokon binded and your friend released.”
“We are coming.” said Leofin.
“No kid, you can’t fight, you are not that powerful.”
“I am Leofin, the warren Warrymn.”
“If you had been the warren Warrymn I would have allowed you but as you see, you are not yet the warren Warrymn. The powers of warren Warrymn maybe in you but is not under you. You need the ritual offered by the King or the blessings of the previous warren Warrymn.”
Leofin was silent and frozen. He considered himself foolish for having talked to the King in such a manner and having fought though he was none. But he believed in himself, he believed in dimensioner and he also believed that the dimensioner had sent him to the dark knight for a reason.
He nodded to the dark knight.
The sand around the dark knight turned black, it swirled around the black knight and formed a whirlpool and he sunk into the sands of the desert.
The dark knight was gone in darkness.

Spirits, or what people usually referred to as ghosts, are something that has always been with us since ancient times. Some people are gifted to see them. However, most of us can’t see them without training. And without seeing them, we won’t believe. People only believe what they see, after all. However, I assure you, spirits are real. Spirits are always there. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean they are not real. Just like people of ancient ages who can’t see bacteria or those who can’t see stars further than eyes can see, there are limits to our technology. Similarly, even though the current technology can’t prove the existence of supernatural beings, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. In the future, if we can develop technology so everyone can see them just like how a microscope helps us seeing micro beings, I believe everyone will believe it too. That being said, I still can’t prove their existence yet. -Raleigh Von Vlad Update daily (if possible, if not, guaranteed chapters are on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) Thanks to gej302 for the fantastic cover!
