《Final Rebellion》Chapter 5: Escape Corridor Part 2

"50 stay on each 30 meters as we move fowards. Defend both your left and right." Hakeem was not a strategist so he could only make a simple plan for the operation. As they ran they were shot at from the side by the empirial loyalist. "Don't falter! Stand your ground." Hakeem told them and soon enough when they arrive at the southern tip of Medan which was only about 75 meters away from the post, there was less than 100 of them left. About 100, stayed back and made a wide corridor for the escape.
"We're here! I want 60 of you to form small groups and head deeper into Medan and rescue any civillians you can then tell them to escape towards us as we secure the corridor. And most importantly KILL THOSE EMPIRIAL SCUM." Hakeem told the Indonesians with him. They were a mismatch couple of Batak. Javanese and Chinese that form their own groups and headed deeper into the city.
"The rest of you stay here with me we will take turns guarding the civillians to move along the corridor!" Hakeem told the leftover that stayed with him. He looked towards the post that they left. 'I hope that looping message got through.'
"Aim better! You're missing them by a god damn mile!" Amirul yelled towards those that were handling the artirelly.
"We're trying! It's not like we're trained to handle this contraption." One of the people handling the artirelly yelled back at him.
Amirul flinched then looked towards the attacking line that is desprately trying to close the corridor but ultimately failing. 'How are we pushing them back?' Amirul thought but then he looked towards the rebels he brought with him.
*thwack*
A bullet from the attack line came in and went into the head of a Batak man. But those beside him didn't even flinch, they continued on and unleashed hell onto the empirials. The rebels were fierce as they shot, because right after Hakeem led the group of 200 rebels, civillians came through the corridor and escaped into the hills to the south. The chances of their loved ones being saved had just increased. With that in their mind, their morale came to an all time high. It no longer mattered to them if they lost their life.

'Ergh. They look scary as fuck! Even if they manage to hold the empirials back, there is no telling if the empirials are able to bring air support and bomb them to hell.' Amirul was in deep thought at how they could hold on until all of Medan was evacuated.
*Bzzt-* "Hello? This is the Nagercoil branch of the Gloria Rebellion. We received a looping transmission from Colonel Hakeem of the main base telling to communicate to your location. Is anyone there?"
Amirul turned and saw the communications device that was left unattended. He quickly ran and grabbed the microphone. "Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?"
*thump* *thump*
*Bzzt-* "We hear you loud and clear. Explain your current situation please."
Amirul was relieved when he hear the voice responded. But he wasn't able to celebrate.
*thump* *thwack* *thump*
Bullets from the attack line brazed by him. Amirul felt a chill went up his spine as he dodged death. "I'm Amirul of the recently destroyed Tioman Island branch. We're currently at Medan of Northern Jakarta! The city is under attack by empirial loyalist due to suspicion off the underground rebellion." Amirul told the Indian.
*Bzzt-* "What? They're burning down an entire city just for a small rebellion?! Mad bastards!"
"Please! We request heavy air borne support! We are currently holding the empirials at bay but we're not sure how long we could hold on." Amirul yelled into the microphone of the communications device.
*Bzzt-* "Permission granted. Estimated time of arrival is... 4 hours. I repeat, estimated time of arrival is 4 hours."
As Amirul heard the estimated arrival he was enraged. "4 hours? Are you crazy?! We might not be able to hold on that long!"
*Bzzt-* "I'm sorry, that is the best we can do because all our equipment is pre-empire era. Hold on; I promise, we will come for you!"
Just then the communications were cut. Amirul stared blankly at the device and slowly place down the microphone he was yelling into. He turned around to see the battle area. He sees the Indonesians of many ethnic groups fighting together against the incoming waves of enemies. 'Please. Hold on.'

Deep in Medan
Laban the Batak youth. Stared at the school his sister goes to, around him, the group was firing onto a group of empirial soldier. "Hey, what are you doing!? Shoot towards them!" The Javanese leader yelled to Laban which causes him to snap back into reality. He hadn't fired a shot yet, he was not brave enough to do so. Even though atleast 2 of them had already died.
*thump* *thump* *thwack*
"Shit! The chinese guy died! They're firing from the fourth floor of that building." The Javanese leader pointed towards a building which had sparks of guns firing. The group unloaded their munitions into the window of the building.
Laban also took aim and almost fired but then he heard gun shots from behind. He looked towards the sound and widens his eyes as he saw sparks of light coming from the school that his sister goes to. 'Atarah!' Thinking of his sister he ran towards the school.
"H-Hey where are you going?!"
He heard the Javanese man calling out to him but he ignored the call. And got into the school. "ATARAH!" He screams in hopes for a response. And sure enough he heard a shout back.
"L-Laban! Is that you? I'm on the fifth floor!"
As soon as he heard the voice he raced upwards the building. When he got on the fifth floor, he heard glass break in the science lab in the room right across him. "ATARAH!" He screams as he rams himself against the door. When it opened, he saw an empirial soldier pointing a gun to his sister's head and holding her hostage.
"Don't come near me you bastard!" The empirial shouted towards Laban. The person was sweating bullets, and didn't have any pants on.
It didn't took Laban long to figure out why it was that way. He had his rifle on semi-auto and aimed at the empirial soldier. "LET HER GO" He demanded.
"I said stay away you third world cunt!" The empirial said to Laban. He covered Atarah's mouth as to avoid her screaming anymore.
*shuuu~~* *BOOOM*
An artirelly fired a shot onto nearby, the building shook and a tragedy happened.
The empirial soldier jerked the trigger. Unloading a bullet into Atarah's head. Atarah fell to ground as blood splatters across the room.
"Yo-you.." Laban snapped. He switched to auto-fire mode and emptied his magazine. 30 rounds were in his magazine, 30 rounds went into the empirial's body. The empirial's body was pushed back as the bullets kept entering his body and fell through the window. Laban threw his rifle to the ground and went towards his sister.
She was clearly dead. The bullet destroyed her skull. "Ata-Atarah..." Laban had his sister's body on his lap. He kisses her forehead and closes her eyes with his hands.
Deep inside, Laban was boiling. The rage exploded outwards. He look towards his sister and whispers "I- I will avenge you..."
He laid his sister on floor, he positioned her into a comfortable position even though she was already dead. "I- I- WILL KILL THEM ALL!" Laban screamed. 'No more will anyone die. No more will people like me suffer! I will fight until my last dying breath.' Laban's mind boiled. He exited the building with his rifle. His previous group was dead on the floor. The earlier artirelly were aimed at them, he was the only one left of the group.
"Over there!" He heard a shout. He turns to see a platoon of empirial soldiers infront of him. Instead of paling like anyone else, LABAN SMILED.

This is the story about the second war between nephlims and humans. This is the story of how everything ends. -- (21JUN2020 story will be active for another week, I unfortunately do not have a backlog so I can't extend my chapter updates until another port call. I do not know when the next port call will be so I will be on another Hiatus for an undetermined amount of time. Scribblehub is not blocked on my work computer so I will be able to update my story on that website. It can be found here.) This story is a draft, I'll be doing my best to update monthly; work might get in the way of that so some update might be delayed an extra week or so. There will be roughly 31 chapters in total (I have the entire plot written down for the first book and the overall plot written down for the entire series.). (Summary is also a WIP and will change later to better fit the story. Any advice on how to write a summary for multiple POV's would be amazing)

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
