Ryuk: "For such a pessimistic human you sure have optimistic thinking."

Kira: "Ever since I was young, all I wanted was to be better, but it just wasn't enough. I used to get the best grades in school, I studied maths and science to a realm beyond that of scientists. By age 14, I could crack any algorithm, even the enigma. Yet in the end, all I got for hours of tireless work were compliments. I realised that life had a greater meaning then just this, I wanted to be at the peak. The best version of myself. I wanted to be god."

I got up from my chair and laid on the bed.

Kira: "And of all things, the death note will help me achieve my goal."

I took a momentary rest before I sighed and got up from the bed.
