Knocking on the door
“Yes?” I said
“Dinner is ready.” Said Lia
“Coming” I said
After a few minutes, I slapped myself hard and told myself to cheer up. After that I opened the door and got startled when I saw Lia, who is waiting for me in front of the door.
“Have you cheered up?” She said
I startled once again to see that she knows that I’m still sad, so I decided to put up a smile and told her that I’m ok.
“If you’re still sad come talk to me ok? The only thing I can do for you is to listen.” She said with a smile on her face.
“Yeah, sure. Thank you.” I replied.
After that the both of us walked together to the dining room. After some walking, I realized that the house we’re in is not an ordinary house. The hallway that we walked in, the scenery outside the window, the ornaments laid all over the house, all of them seems to have a luxurious feeling and suddenly it hits me, that this is not a house at all.
“Is this a mansion perchance?” I asked Lia
“Yeah, it is. Is it your first time inside a mansion?” She said
“Well, it is my first time here.” I said with an embarrassed look
“Hee hee” She laughs
I looked around again and noticed something weird. After all this time walking, I haven’t seend any maids, butlers, or even a worker around the hallway. I decided to ask Lia.
“But, even so, I haven’t seen any maids or butlers around and from what I can tell, this mansion is too big for just the two of you.” I said
“Oh, if you’re wondering about that, just wait awhile. You will see why we don’t have maids or butlers around the house.” She said with a smile on her face.

I dazed and starting to wonder what she said. But, I putt that question aside because we have reached the dining room.
“We’re here” She said
After that she opened the door. What I see was a large dining room with luxurious ornaments. As I go inside the room I noticed that the room itself has a magnificent feel to it and then wondered to myself, is the one who saved me is a rich person. From what I can tell from the house, is that this is nothing an ordinary merchant house would be.
After some pondering, I noticed that Smith, the master of the house and the one who saved me, is sitting at the end of the room, waiting for us. We then approached him.
“Evening, Mr. Smith.” I greeted him.
“Evening Agung. Please sit down. You too, Lia” He said.
I then sat down on the chair that is on the left of him and Lia’s on the right.
“Well now, it is not much but please eat to your heart content. Oh and please eat it now or the food will get cold.” He said.
After that, we prayed and begin to eat. After a while, we finished eating and Mr. Smith started a conversation.
“So how’s the food? Is it good?” Asked Mr. Smith
“Yeah, it tasted great Mr. Smith? Does your maid make this? I asked
“Well, if you like to call it a maid you can.” Said Mr. Smith
I pondered to what Mr. Smith said and asked him “Wait, if it wasn’t a maid who cooked this, then who is it?”
“If you want to see it, you can come with me. Lia, take care of the plates please.” He said
After he said that, he began to stand up and leave the room while waving at me telling me to follow him. I too then stood up and followed him.

After some walking we stopped to a room that looked like a kitchen. When Mr. Smith opened the door, I was startled to see that there are neither maids nor chefs there. The one thing that got me startled was not because there wasn’t anyone there, but because the all of the kitchenware was floating inside the room and all of them was doing all the kitchen work.
“Umm, can you tell me what is happening at his room Mr. Smith?” I asked
“Hmm, there’s not much of a reaction from you is there?” He said.
“Well, you see Agung. I’m a magician, well sort of a magician. And all of this is my doing. Even all of the housework was also done by my magic” He said.
That explain explains why there was neither maids nor butlers around. After some time the kitchen ware stopped working and begin to go inside all of the cupboards.
“Oh it’s time already.” He said
“After a while, the magic will expire and they will go back into their place before turning back to normal.” He continued.
After the explanation, we go back to the dining room.
When we got there, Mr. Smith suddenly started talking.
“Well, you must be tired after seeing that. You can go rest in your room for now and I’ll ask Lia to lead you the way.” He said
“Ok, Mr. Smith” I said
“Lia!!! Come here and lead our guest back to his room” He shouted.
After a few seconds, Lia got out of the dining room door.
“Ok papa.” She said to Mr. Smith
“Right this way, Mr. Agung.” She said to me
I followed her to my room. Along the way she asked me.
“How’s the kitchen? Did it surprise you? She asked
“Well, no actually. Because of the demons attack last time, I think my surprise sensor stopped working.” I said
“Hmm no fun.” She said
After the talking, we arrived at my room. Lia then said good bye to me and leaves. I then, waved at her and start opening the door and then goes inside the room.
After a while I started wondering to myself about how strong Mr.Smith is as a magician.
“If he’s strong enough, can he makes me his disciple? If he can makes me his disciple then my plans to take revenge will go much more smoother.” I said to myself.
After some pondering, I felt a bit sleepy and took my first peaceful sleep in this mansion. But that sleep didn’t last long. It was because at midnight, I suddenly felt something warm besides me and got woken up. After I woke up, I got startled when I see Lia’s body sleeping next to me.
