《Aurelion》Chapter 8

I instantly kept back my dagger and kneel down "I'm sorry, god of the world, Alduin. Please forgive me"
"Ahahah, there's no need for such respect. Stand up, stand up." Alduin said. Alduin suddenly started giving me a weird stare, like maybe there was a bug on my face, or he knew about one of my secrets
"What is it?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing" Alduin replied after getting back to his senses.
"Erm, Alduin... Who is your....." Kishi covered my mouth before I could finish. I turned to him and saw him shaking his head, which should mean that I shouldn't ask him about this matter. I continued with "sorry, let's pretend I never said anything"
"Huh" Alduin said. Then, Alduin's voice suddenly turned into one of those epic narrator's voices "Anyways, my adventurers. I sense a grave evil in the world. I think it will begin accumulating in the world and will soon start to create destruction. You all must begin preparing for the battle."
"Erm...." My face suddenly changed into one like a flat eyed expressionless emoji (😑) "since you are a god, can't you just handle this yourself?" I tried acting casual to Alduin, since I thought he didn't want to feel too highly respected, but I think I might have flipped a switch in him
Alduin stared at me again, this time like he thinks I have a time bomb hidden on my body, with a slightly disgusted face. "Ahem..... Well, you could say that gods are the strongest being in a world, well, don't get me wrong but that is true, but gods can't fight against this kind of evil. It's like the natural enemy of god." He said with a slightly annoyed tone
"Alright, I understand." I said as I don't want to continue this topic before his fuse clicked and I became a god pancake as I can sense the annoyance Alduin is feeling towards me. "But, may I ask, what must we do to defeat this evil"

Alduin seemed to calmed down a little. "In your eyes, the evil would be something like a monster, what most people and godkind would call it 'superbeast'. I can't touch it at all, so I need to summon the best of the best adventurers to help me defeat the evil and protect the land."
At that moment, it felt like the sunlight shined towards me and Kishi, like a chosen one has been born. "Just so you know, if you want to accept this quest, you will be a supporting member in Kishi's team" Alduin said to me
"Supporting......" It felt the the world trembled down on me. Maybe it was because I asked such a question just now that made him annoyed, or most likely because I'm extremely weak compared to Kishi or even the the demi-human from before.
Alduin ignored me and turned to Kishi "Kishi, I suggest you to find these three other adventurers to help you in the battle. One, ghork the demi-human, the master of the plasma eagle spirit. Two, Char the Asura, the master of fire and earth. Lastly, a soon to be master of the clone arts, Radolf the...."
"Demon?" Kishi asked before Alduin got to finish
"Yes, it's the Radolf you just met. For now, I suggest finding Ghork first. The other two will be in the village. I have told Char, but I'll leave it to you to find Ghork and bring him to meet up with the other two in the village." Alduin turned to me and said "As for you, you can join as long as you don't cause trouble"
Kishi kneeled down straight away, like how a knight would in front of the king, with his right leg in front. "I gladly accept this quest"

After seeing kishi kneel, I turned away and look to my right. "Yeah, whatever. I'll try not to cause any stupid trouble"
Alduin turned a blind eye to me and said "very well. Now, go and find your first companion. He is close by, in that direction" Alduin pointed in a direction about 90° from the direction to the village. "After you find him, go to the village and meet up with the others. Then, you may start your team training and help Radolf master his clone arts. I'll come and summon you again when the evil has became active and took a form of a superbeast." Alduin looked into the sky and with just a snap, Alduin disappeared.
"Why the hell did I accepted this quest" I asked myself.
