Chapter 9
Tsuki felt the truck slowly come to a stop. A few seconds later, he felt someone tilting his head to the side so he opened his eyes slightly to peer.
‘Silver hair…Oh it’s just Alphonse licking my neck.’ He thought sleepily as he closed his eyes again. ‘…..Alphonse licking my neck? Licking my neck….’
He hastily opened his eyes, “Alphonse! Don’t tell me that you are going to bite..”
He didn’t even have enough time to finish his phrase, Alphonse bit him and he let out a small scream.
Tsuki pushed at his chest, “Ow ow ow stop biting me! You are not a vampire! Can’t you even ask before doing this?! A please and thank you would have been appreciated. It bloody hurts!”
Alphonse just captured his hands in one hand and continued licking his blood.
Tsuki, “Ugh whatever! I am going back to sleep.”
With that he closed his eyes and tried to go back to sleep even though there was a leech/zombie attached to his neck.
His eyes twitched, ‘there’s no way I can sleep like this. Let’s me show you how it feels to be bitten.’
Tsuki opened his mouth wide and bit down on Alphonse’s shoulder. The latter grunted, but apart from that, had no other reaction. He continued to bite and suck Tsuki’s blood.
‘That’s all?! Doesn’t it hurt?!’ With that thought, he bit down harder until he tasted blood.
The minute the taste of the blood registered in his brain, he quickly let go of Alphonse’s shoulder to spit it out.
“Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! It doesn’t taste good at all! How on earth can you drink mine? Ugh the taste lingers.”
Alphonse removed his head from his neck and looked at him. He slowly licked the blood around his lips then reached out to wipe Tsuki’s blood stained lips.

Alphonse, “Not the same.”
“It’s not? Because yours frankly tastes really bad.”
Alphonse just nodded then reached to get a bottle of water from the bag. He gave the bottle to Tsuki who quickly used it to rinse his mouth. He spit out the water through the open window.
“Are we stopping here tonight?” Tsuki asked as he looked outside the window.
Alphonse had stopped at the side of the road. There was only barren land in sight.
‘Seems like we left the city while I was asleep.’
Alphonse, “Yes. Sleep.”
“I just woke up.” He protested even though he was feeling a little tired from having his blood sucked.
Alphonse just picked him up and cradled him in his arms, “Sleep.”
“Okay okay your majesty.” He grumbled. “ G’night Alphonse.” He said as he closed his eyes.
For someone who was protesting, he sure fell asleep quickly. Alphonse waited until he was sure that Tsuki was deeply asleep before gently placing him in the passenger seat. He grabbed hold of his seat and let out a grunt as his body spasmed. The change that Tsuki’s blood incited was always painful.
The seat creaked from the force with which he was holding it. Alphonse threw back his head and clenched his teeth against one violent spasm. All his veins were straining against his skin and he was also was sweating some sort of liquid.
He quickly got out of the truck as he felt something come up his throat. He leaned down on the side road, a few meters away from the truck, and vomited up a black viscous liquid. As soon as the liquid touched the ground, it degraded it and also mutated the few surrounding flora.
This continued for many hours before it started to abate. Alphonse laid down on the ground, spent. He stared at the white, beautiful full moon beaming down on him and closed his eyes for a few moments. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He already felt different from yesterday. He was more aware and his brain capacity was nearly restored. The blood worked really fast.

Slowly, a small smile appeared on his lips and he opened his eyes to bask in the moonlight for a little while. Then he slowly got up and took off his shirt to wipe his body clean from the secreted liquid. He approached the trailer and silently got inside.
He stared at Tsuki who was sleeping soundly. The moonlight illuminated his face, making him appear like a beautiful porcelain doll. Alphonse leaned his body over the smaller zombie’s and reached out a his hand to caress that soft cheek. A hand that could kill mercilessly was capable of such gentleness.
“Truly, what a beautiful, magnificent and precious little moon.” He leaned down and softly brushed his lips against Tsuki’s cheek, “and mine to cherish.”
If Tsuki had seen the ferociousness that appeared in Alphonse’s eyes at that moment, he would have frozen like a small rabbit in front of a big bad wolf. Fortunately for him, his awareness was quite lacking so he just frowned a little, grumbled some nonsense and fell silent again.
Alphonse let out a small chuckle before going back to his seat. He took some clothes from the bag and quickly changed into them. He then went out and walked a few meters away. He crouched down and started digging. When the hole was a an appropriate depth, he carelessly threw the soiled clothes inside and filled it in again.
It was ingrained into him, never leave traces behind. You might never know if someone was after you. He made sure the ground appeared undisturbed before turning to take care of the result of his purging.
He quickly finished cleaning the evidence of his purging and went back into the truck. He picked Tsuki and cradled him in his arms again. The latter burrowed into his chest and let out an ‘Alphonse dunderhead’ in his sleep.
Alphonse raised an eyebrow then leaned down to burrow his face into the smaller zombie’s hair. He closed his eyes at the comforting scent and stayed like that until the first rays of sunlight appeared.
Alphonse raised his head and stared at Tsuki. He pushed back his hair, “moonlight suits you better than the sunlight. What a nice coincidence, I have always preferred the moon. I chose your name well.”
With that he put Tsuki back into the passenger seat and started the truck.
Alphonse, “Hmm we are in need of some provisions. You will be hungry when you wake up. I did take a great amount of blood. Need to find some prey and prepare it for you. After all you can’t stand raw meat. Guess it’s time to hunt again.”
A cruel smile appeared on his face at that thought.
