《CITY OF THE DEAD》Chapter 1

Chapter 1
He woke up under the scorching sun near a horror house of all things. He took a moment to get his bearings before slowly sitting up.
"Where am I? What happened?" He asked himself aloud.
His voice was scratchy and his throat had some kind of phantom pain. He kept rubbing at it unconsciously while he looked down at his clothes, as if to make sure it was still intact. His clothes were dirty and, somehow, crusty with blood. He also couldn't seem to remember anything. He must have looked like a fool, sitting on the dirty ground with his arms crossed, trying to remember something. No matter how hard he worked his brain cells, he couldn't recall anything. After a few minutes of vain effort, he gave up.
'Hmm I feel strange...Oh well whatever. I'll worry about it later.' He thought to himself.
Scratching his head, he took in his surroundings. It seemed like he was in an amusement park.
"It looks like it went through a war zone!" He exclaimed.
Standing up, he moved closer to a nearby suspicious stain in order to analyse it.
'...It seems to be blood... It can't be, can it?'
As he extended a finger he took notice of his nails. They were not extremely long but they sure were....well pointy. Scratching one nail with another resulted in scratch marks.
"They are sharp and hard too! Great, I am now a hazard to myself. Note to self: be careful not to gouge myself. "
He returned his attention to the stain and poked at it with his nail. Watching it crumble like dust at his touch, he confirmed the stain to be to be dried blood.
'Then all these stains around are all blood?' Strangely enough, he was emotionally calm. He didn't feel panicked at all the blood.

There were a lot of these stains scattered around. Apart from the blood, most of the amusement rides were broken. And the stands looked ransacked. There was a strange stench in the air. It was a strong mix of blood, decomposing meat and burnt corpse.
"How can people stand this smell?" He said as he scrunched his nose.
Now that he thought about it, there was no-one else around except for him. So sue him, he was a little slow on the uptake. He was going to start looking for other people when his eyes happened to glance at the horror house. The door was open just enough to let in a little light. Even so it was still quite dark inside and it was a little hard to see, but he could clearly distinguish a shadow inside. It looked like it was staring at him.
Thinking that he finally found another person, he happily called out, "Hey Sir! The one hiding inside the horror house. Can you tell me where I am or what happened here? Uh please!"
Silence was his only answer.
" Hey please don't ignore me! Are you shy? I am not going to hurt you, don't worry. I am a good guy. Promise!"
He waited for a few minutes but still no answer. Just as he was about to say something else, he saw the silhouette moving towards the door. He had to admit that his gait was a little strange.
'Well who am I to judge? Nobody is perfect and all that jazz.' He thought to himself.
"Thank you so much Sir. I woke up alone and.....", his words trailed off as the silhouette came out of the door and into the light.
