The car drove through the street. Takumi looked out of the car window to the street. The street was really quiet and empty, as if no one lived here. The car then stopped in front of a gate with fences surrounding a huge mansion. A man and woman slowly opened the gate, as the car door next to him got opened by the taxi driver.
"This is where you need to be, kid." The man said, as he pointed to the two at the gate.
Takumi slowly walked out of the car, as he grabbed his bag. He slowly walked to the gate, as the car behind him drove away. He looked at the mansion, than at the man and woman, who both were smiling.
"Welcome to your new home..." The woman said, as she reached out her hand. Takumi's eyes lightened up.
"... My name is Anne." She followed up, smiling.
Takumi never expected this kind people, for
as long as he knew all the adults here the same in his mind, disgusting, dangerous, people. But these two looked really kind. Takumi slowly reached out his hand, shaking hers. The woman was waiting for his reply.
"Oh- Ehh… My name is Takumi... Ishido..." Takumi said, covering his mouth with his jacket.
"...N- Nice to meet you… Miss Anne." Takumi followed up, as the man suddenly patted Takumi on the head.
"Hey, don't forget me, will you?" The man said, really kind. Takumi looked up.
"Don't be so shy, we won't hurt you." The man followed up.
"The name is Ryan." The man smiled.
Takumi was really happy, he never expected an Orphan this beautiful and kind. But that might be because the Orphan has just started, and they weren't getting any help from the government, so they must've paid all this with the spare money they had.
"I look forward on living with you, Takumi." Ryan said.
"So, Takumi… Time to meet Rin and the others." Anne said. Takumi looked up.

"R- Rin?" Takumi asked.
Takumi then noticed, the girl that was hiding behind the door, at the entrance of the Mansion. When she got noticed her eyes lightened up and she looked away.
"Oi! Children! Come say hello!" Ryan shouted. But the kids didn't reply. Ryan let out a sigh.
"Oh don't worry… You will meet them one day." Ryan explained, laughing it off.
"Let's get inside, Dinner is ready." Anne said, proudly.
"What are we eating?" Ryan asked.
"We are eating Rice today, with a little bit of Chicken soup." Anne replied to Ryan.
"Ahh, what? We ate that yesterday too." Ryan said, unrelieved.
"Because you forgot to buy more ingredients, idiot." Anne replied, flicking Ryan's head.
"Ouch!" Ryan replied.
As a boy's laugh could be heard. They both turned to the sound, as they saw Takumi laugh.
"S- Sorry… It sounded hilarious." Takumi said, continuing with laughing.
Ryan and Anne started to laugh too, as they walked into the Mansion. Takumi got to meet other children, but they were too shy to interact with him, yet. They all ate at the dinner and Takumi sat between Ryan and Anne.
"Oh and, as if for tomorrow you will be starting school in this mansion." Anne explained. "I already separated a huge room for you."
Takumi nodded as he clapped his hands together, just like the other children.
"Thank you for the food!" They all shouted, as they followed up with grabbing their dishes and place them on the kitchen counter.
Ryan grabbed Takumi's dishes.
"Go check out your room with Anne." Ryan said, smiling.
"O- oh, sure." Takumi replied, as he followed Anne to the highest floor of the roof, which was the fourth.
There was room for at least five more beds in this floor, but there was only one bed. On the bed laid new clothing with a piece of paper. Takumi grabbed the piece of paper.
"This is your school uniform, wear this when you go to the Mansion's school. Good luck!" Takumi read, it looked like Ryan wrote this for him.

Takumi put the clothing aside and jumped into his bed, staring at the roof. He slowly reached his hand out. Everything is going better than I ever had expected, this is honestly amazing! Takumi thought, as he put the blanket over himself. He will have to see tomorrow, when he has to go for his first day of school.
For some odd reason all the other children were on the lower floors, so he was all alone. It didn't bother him though. He has to live with it, if it's the least he has to repay their kindness. Before Takumi knew it he fell asleep…

Takumi slowly opened his eyes, as Ryan was about to throw a bucket of water.
"R- Ryan?!" Takumi shouted in shock.
"Oh- You woke up..." Ryan replied.
"... I wanted to wake you up with water, works the best." Ryan said, trying to laugh it off.
"You have school to attend, don't forget that." Ryan followed up.
Takumi let out a sigh. "Yes… Can I at least get the privacy to change, sir?" Takumi asked.
"Oh-... Sure, meet me at the dining hall." Ryan replied, as he walked off with the bucket.
Takumi fell back on his bed, letting out a sigh. For some reason, he has a bad feeling about this. It feels as if he raised a death flag since being so happy yesterday. But no time for hard feeling. Just like Ryan said, he has to attend to school from today on, that means waking up on time. Takumi stood back up and started to wear the school uniform.
When he was done he walked downstairs, as he heard a lot of children talk and peek from out of the door. What is going on? Takumi thought, as he walked through the children to look outside. His eyes widened up as he saw the two greet another child, he looked a bit older than him. The boy had blue eyes and brown hair. Suddenly Ryan turned to him.
"Takumi! Get over here, will you?!" Ryan shouted.
Takumi's eyes lightened up. He couldn't ignore Ryan, so he walked out of the door to both of them. He looked at the kid in front of him. The kid was pretty shy, but he reached out his hand.
"H- Hello… My name is Ukato Takeshi." The kid said.
Takumi reached out his hand and shook his hand.
"Welcome, I am Takumi Ishido, nice to meet you." Takumi said, improvising.
"W- What for clothes are you wearing?" Ukato asked, as he saw his uniform.
"Oh this… This is my school uniform, I started today, you see." Takumi explained.
"You can start too tomorr- ?!" Just as Takumi was talking his eyes saw the expression of fear.
Ukato's eyes widened up. "S- School..." Ukato said, scared.
"D- Did I say something wrong?" Takumi asked. Ukato held his head, as he looked down.
"U- Ukato?" Takumi said, as he walked up to him.
Ryan put his hand between Takumi and Ukato, as he looked at Takumi.
"Takumi. It's fine, Anne will fix this." Ryan said.
Takumi's eyes widened up, as they both walked inside. Takumi turned for a last moment to Anne and Ukato, as he saw him fall on his knees. He looked back forward, as Ryan and him walked to the dining hall.
"R- Ryan- "
"It's fine, I said." Ryan interrupted Takumi.
Takumi shut his mouth as he looked down.
"Don't get so sad about it, You'll say sorry when they enter the mansion, got it?" Ryan explained. Takumi nodded.
"Good, now let's go to the classroom, okay?" Ryan said.
"Yes, Ryan." Takumi replied, as they both walked to the classroom…

Quantum Worlds (A LitRPG dark fantasy)
Find the missing VIP in an illegal game world. Kill the monsters. Return home for the paycheck. Decorated Marine commander, Damon Williams, never thought his latest mission would take place in a full-immersion world fighting monsters… but when a high-value VIP disappears after being stealthily transported to a banned MMORPG, he's their only hope. Damon must lead a group of rescuers into an unforgiving world infested with terrifying monsters and worse. Pain is real. Death is permanent. He and his crew must adapt quickly, trust each other, and fight to survive. And if all that's not bad enough, they'll also have to race against time to avoid the realm’s disintegration and mutation effects. Quantum Worlds features race and class designations, unique creatures, dungeon crawling, level progression and Easter eggs that reference video games and pop culture. This a dark fantasy, but it also has sprinklings of humor throughout. It is a multi-cast, multi-pov story. In many ways, it is a melding of one of my favorite novels, “The Stand”, with my favourite genre, LitRPG. I don’t espouse to be anywhere near Stephen King, but I would like to think that I have succeeded in many areas here (you’ll be the judge of that). So, this thriller-style story has a lot of build-up and lots of drama. When it hits the 100-page mark, it starts to take off with some intense action and fight scenes (although there are battles long before that). Nothing comes easy for this group of rescuers. And the dangers are very real. This saga is already over 100 chapters with more to come. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your reviews, comments, and feedback. Thanks. Chapters are uploaded every day at noon ET. Please do not repost this work anywhere without my written permission. Quantum Worlds is a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge.

THIRTEEN (Evie's Perspective)
This is the 2003 movie, Thirteen, told from the perspective of Evie Zamora. We got Tracy's point of view, but what about Evie? Why did she do the things she did?I've seen a few different interpretations of Evie's perspective and I decided to give it a go. This is how I think Evie thought and the reasons behind why she did the things she did. This is NOT canon, just a fanfiction, and I am not affiliated with Thirteen or Catherine Hardwick in any way.
