《Author's Rant》I got distracted
Advertisement
I was just about to start typing in the pre-chapter author's note when I remembered: this entire "story" is meant for those rants.
Anyway, if you're reading this, it means that yes, I got distracted again and uploaded a third story. And I know that I said this isn't a story in the summary, but Royal Road was being a bitch about me posting a non-story. So, during these past few days, I have not worked on either of my stories at all, in favor of getting angry at Royal Road as they repeatedly refused this one.
It was denied the first time because it wasn't a story, so I figured I could edit it after it was released. However, I ran into the issue of what story to put here as a place holder. And I was too lazy to use one of the other 17 stories I already have written out, no. So I made an entirely new story, and typed exactly 500 words. Mighta been 502, can't remember.
So, I published that. And then it was denied a second time because "I can't use copyrighted images as the cover." Like, what the shit, I made that cover myself. Sure, I used an avatar creator, but that's not copyrighted either! It said I could open a support ticket if my cover wasn't actually copyrighted, but, like, it didn't tell me how. Didn't even link to a different page. So I shoved a random image in, and waited for things to publish.
I've been waiting these past few days because it "can take up to 48 hours" for a story to be reviewed, and I wanted to be ready to swap out the story I made with this as soon as it released so nobody would see it. That failed. I took a nap, and when I woke up, two people already saw it. Don't know who, but, just for you guys, I might post that story here again.

Ooh, that's be fun. I could use this place as author's rant, and a sounding board for some of my other stories. Yeah, I might do that. Oh, I need to rework the synopsis of this "story" then, to make that clear. And I'll put something in the title of the chapter to signify whether or not it's a story or not.
Yeah. This seems fun now. Now I can start different story ideas and not feel bad as I watch them slowly clutter the folder I created for them because people will actually see them! Now, there is one story that I don't plan on posting, and that's because it's like a child to me.
I technically started writing it when I was...eight? Nine. I started writing it when I was nine. I say technically, because there is nothing left from the original story. The original started off as a fanfiction, believe it or not. A self-insert, Percy Jackson fanfiction. I even used my name in the story.
Over the years, it slowly drifted away from that, and the main character actually began to form their own life. I have never settled on a name for the story, but, currently, it's titled "The Spirit". It's set in a world where magic and technology exist in tandem, and the world is all types of erratic because of that.
So, yes, I've worked on "The Spirit" for going on ten years now. If you take everything I've ever written for it, you'd have a book right there. A pretty shitty one, but a book nonetheless. It is my baby, and I keep it very close to my chest.
I did this. I went to class. I slept. I ate. I did find something called "The World's Longest Joke." I don't know if that's true, but I'll just link it here in the post-chapter author's note, because I apparently can't link things in the chapter content box. Silly me.

So, anyway, yeah. I think that about covers it. I would say I'd go to sleep, but I just woke up, so, who knows what I might do. I might even write! I will post the story I used to get this published here first. Just in case y'all wanna read it. My mind has officially blanked, so, ta ta for now.

Saga of the Soul Dungeon
When Caden dies in an accidental fall, he is merged with a dungeon core in another world. The problem with that? The dungeon core wasn't dead, and he has share mind-space with it. And that doesn't take into account mastering his new abilities well enough to escape from the powerful wizard that is, understandably, leery about allowing a dungeon to escape. Even after he manages to escape he needs to found and manage a dungeon. Of course the location he chose might have a few issues of its own. He is on the border of two human nations who are not particularly pleased to share. A sentient plant race claims the dungeon as sacred ground. And, amidst the chaos, teams of adventurers just want to make a living and figure out how to deal with the latest challenge. Just so readers know, Caden is not a murder-hobo. He is a genuinely nice person trying to make the best of his situation. If you want a main character that revels in killing people, this is not the book for you. This is a reworking, and continuation, of my original novel into first person. And it is going great! The writing is well past where my original novel got to. This work will never be dropped. Hiatuses may happen due to life, but I will never abandon this fiction. Currently 20+ chapters on Patreon
