《Harmony: An Assassins Tale》Chapter 28: A Gain of Knowledge
Advertisement
After my big failure, I started to feel stupid again. Although I didn't know anyone more intellegent than me overall, I notice I lack a knowledge of more... whats the word... supernatural things. I started looking around the house and I noticed there was a dusty bookshelf next to the bed. I knew that it wasn't there in the first place, because it wasn't blue. It was the color of polished redwood, but lost its shine due to old age. In the bookshelf there were books with broken spines and the leather cover was starting to wear out. When I grabbed it, I noticed there was a bunch of dust collected on it, and that there was a cobweb in the first page and the second. I blew the dust off the cover, and it was written in some weird letters, that I didn't understand, although I have discovered the speech and writing of every language there is, so this must be one of the special languages, possibly Dragon, because it had a few pictures of dragons. I opened the pages, and everything in it was written in Dragon Tongue, so I had to teach myself the language. All I did was ask my teacher one sentence's meaning, and when she told me, I understood the syllables. The first sentence consisted of three words, the first word with 4 letters, the second with 3, and the third with 5.
With all the knowledge I gathered from this, I made myself a chart about what the letters looked like, and with that I was able to interpret the meaning of the writing, but not necessary how it is said, I'll ask Sensei about that later onwards. Anyhows, it was seperated into a seperate chapter for each different race, with the most details of Dragons. It seemed like the writer of this book was RagNar, the strongest dragon of all time, and the first Lord. RagNar didn't have that sloppy of a handwriting, but all I tried to think about was how they were able to write like this, and then I remembered something. When I went to a manga convention (Don't judge my tastes >_< ) I saw some people 'cos-playing' as dragons. Maybe those were real dragons, because their tails and horns looked real, and when I asked one of them If I could touch it, the horns were made of real Ivory, and their tail was of real leather, and had a reptilian scaley feeling. I could tell by the way the reacted when I touched it means that most likely it was some sort of illusion, or the power of a powerful ME user. ME is so vast, it pretty much has all the powers of Magic, ie can do pretty much anything, granted it is limited to a certain degree, like it had to be sensual, not non-sense, like being able to fly without wings, or change of air resistance, or true teleporting. ME is much more limited then Magic, but can be used for almost any cause. So, what this 'transformation' is, was most likely some sort of illusion to make it look like a human, or shrinked itself by dispersing unecessary molecules and atoms, however it would make it harder to fight.

So I deducted that most likely he used ME to change his claw like hands into a human hand, such that he was able to write it down. The first chapter was about dragons, and in it, it was written about how dragons were first originated, ie their first beings, Rag and Nur, who married and populated that dimension with dragons. It is said that they were the only dragons without any types, however there children were of all types, and those children had more children and at the end, Rag and Nur's Great Great Grandson was RagNar, who became the first Lord and the foundation of the current Dragon world. It is said he himself created the isles in that way such that there would be peace amongst the dragons, and it worked, but later on, when his postion was taken by his brother, NarKog, he destroyed the peace and tranquility in the dragon world by adding a new Isle, Isle -1. Isle -1 was a postion which was a forced teleportation position, ie no matter where you want to jump or teleport to, you will be stopped there. As a result, it caused great mayhem, and bad dragons, who wanted to do evil, risided in Isle -1 and were able to kill countless other beings from other places, and dimensions.
After his brother was killed, RagNar's grandson, the current Lord, RagNar-Ok , took his position, and although he was a lazy Spatial Dragon, he had a great sense of justice, and as a result he personally went to Isle -1 and killed every dragon residing there, and then he demolished it, and put Isle 0 there, which currently serves no purpose but will be given one soon enough. Although it was written mainly by RagNar, I can tell that others as well have written down the history, as a continuation of the book. After that it mainly rambles on about the different types of dragons, there details and all that stuff, but what was differenent was that it mentioned an old folktale which was that there was another dragon, known as the Alpha Dragon, or Allif (Pronunced Al-Lif) . Allif was rumored to be the brother of Rag, and hated Rag when he took away his only love, Nur. After that it says that he has wandered the void aimlessly waiting for an exciting event to take place in which he can claim his victory amongst all, and as a result, able to kill all of the other dragons ie Rag and Nur's children, and shall leave a single Female Dragon to recreate the Dragon Dimension, as so the Lord's have kept this rumor a secret and only the noblest and highest of Dragons knows about this, as it is dangerous knowledge that can cause panic amongst the world. After that, it kind of rambled on about Dragon history.
Then it came to the knowledge of Humans, which had the second most data, and I supposed my guess was correct, because it seemed like they collected knowledge ie manga's saying how they think female dragons are like humans, but just have a tail and horns, and then the dragon further went in detail about manga's , rather than actual people and life and that kind of stuff, because they could only hide in 'Cos-play'. These dragons wrote about simple things , about how we act, how we react, those kind of things. They even got an entire chapter about reproduction, and I skipped it because I already knew the detail, but , it seems like they read you-know-what mangas and wrote about you-know-what in the reproduction section. The rest was about yada yada and those kind of things about emotions love those kind of things.

Then it continued like this for the following knowledge of Demons, Angels, and Reapers, and so on . I was pretty intrigued considering that the immortality of reapers had a giant weakness, which wasn't found in the immortality of Flugre. Demons too, had a weird kind of weakness, and it seemed like Angels were the only one without any flaws, except that all there strong generals had a crazy OCD problem, which made them lose there title of commanders in a few hours flat, because they keep on asking them to move, arrange according to height, and so on. Even Gabriel has a big OCD problem, but due to his strength and firm leadership, he is still God's Army's General. It continued like this giving details about everything, but the Flugre's intrigued me.
First off, Flugre's didn't have much knowledge to begin with. Dragon's had around 250 pages, Humans 200, Demons and Angels about 150, Reapers 125, but Flugre.... only 3. All that is known about them is that they are few in number, there dimension is the furthest of every other, and they kill any intruders, except Lords, even former Lords were killed. All they have written about them was that they were like dryads, who liked nature, and that they were extremely powerful when prevoked. The thing is, that so far, the only way of obtaining data was by Trine, so it was extremely hard to get details about them, considering how eccentric she was , even by Flugre standards.
After finishing this book, I noticed there were 5 more books, about each other race, but were written in their perspective. After reading all of them, I noticed the final book was written about Flugre, and I was hoping it had more details about them. It seemed pretty big, and was written by Trine Yugjab, the current Lord of the Flugre's , but to my surprise , it was amazing. It had roughly 700 pages, and when I opened the first page, it had only a 6 words written in it. "We are a secret, now, die." I quickly flipped over every other page, but saw no hint of ink, and after that, I noticed something came out of the book. I was scared that I would actually die, but then Sensei came out of it and said, in a 'kawaii' voice, "Boo-Nya" and used her hand as a paw. It scared me so much I literally threw the book with a half Sensei afterimage, and the image screamed. "The hell is wrong with you? You do know transporting through ink is hard enough, so show some decency," and I was amazed. "Excuse me? You were the one who god damn popped out of a book that said, 'We are a secret, now, die.' how the hell am I supposed to act? You want me to be like, 'Oh my god, I'm going to die, Yay!', no, you crazy old hag." and I punched the afterimage, even though I knew it was Sensei, and she seemed angry, she went into full Yandere mode, and I spent the rest of the day running for my life.
I had a good grasp on the beliefs and strength and weakness of the other species, but I have still yet to find out there special abilities, or there looks. "Oh, well, here's the problem. I kind of incinerated the books with that......... ow! I was feeling cold, and it was winter! Well, anyways, use common sense to try and figure it out." She said, pausing as I slapped her face with an annoyed face. Well, I supposed I understood more about these people, so I decided to start brainstorming ideas about the other species.
It took me a few weeks, but I got a simple jist of them. With that, I realized tomorrow was going to be the day I can retake the test. I quickly revised everything I read, rechecking it with myself, and also tryed to peek in Sensei's house, to see if she wrote any notes about what questions she's going to give, but I chose the wrong time to do so. When I was peeking around, I heard the door of the washroom unlock, and she was there, naked, with nothing more than a light towel to protect her body, she then Smacked me straight in the face saying, "Pppppp....eeee....rrrrr.... PERVERT!" even though I didn't mean to look at her body, but it looked great, in all honesty.
After that incident, I decided not to peek again, and as a result, she give me a big consequence the next day. When the questions was ready, she still seemed flustered. She then said, "This time, If you get one wrong, I'll give you a punch, just like yesterday, but 10 times harder, and this time, if you make one question wrong as well, I will give you a year detention in which you have to follow every single thing I tell you, even if it means you are about to die. Now tell me, are you ready for your test?" and I looked at her, looking at 'that', for some reason, and then said, "Yes! I'm ready, now bring it on, Sensei!" and she started spitting the questions at me, wanting to see me in pain. She went from Kuudere to Yandere to Sadist, now I'm scared.
