“Lets see new shoes, chips, chocolate, juice, tab, cloths, fishing rods, sleeping bag everything packed.” A boy walks down the stairs dragging his heavy luggage twice his size. His dad calls him “hurry up kiddo I also have to close the shops door you know.” He replies quickly, “I am coming dad.” he hurriedly pulled all the luggage holding the glass door's knob excited about the grand trip his family had been planning for 2 months. As they were lower middle class family it was very hard to plan even a short trip of 3 days for them.
But suddenly a black car came taking sharp turns beautifully like it was in middle of a race . It took away breath of the boy not because of its beauty but because it was speeding towards an old looking van in which there trip was about to begin . But it didn’t crash and turned driving in the footpath narrowly escaping the crash. The. Footpath connected a straight passage to a pharmacy where his mom was returning from. He could see what would happen next, he shouted and screamed trying to open the door and do something to change what was about to happen but the damn door won’t open . The unavoidable crash happened he dropped in his knees his father got out of van running towards the body swimming in the pool of blood. His father screams and shakes the body but didn’t get any response.
The car stops few meters ahead drifting. A man in classy suite came out of the car looking exhausted and annoyed, not even a bit of guilt could be seen in his eyes. looking at the man holding a dead body and shouting for help he took out his gun and without much delay shot the man . The boy started kicking the door madly at last door opened and the boy ran out screaming eyes filled with tears and hatred for the man in suit. It was like the door was timed to be opened only for him to see all this. He charged at the man madly screaming, sprinting with his body almost leaning towards ground but he was greeted with a bullet aimed straight at his head. That moment he was not scared but all his focus was pulled by the bullet . The boy saw the bullet come at him in slow motion, it’s pointy tip coming at him slowly in straight line he thought of dodging but he can’t move, ‘no I can but my body is moving too slow and my thoughts are too fast. What’s happening? Will I die now?’ His expression changed to that of horror he wanted to curse but even opening his mouth was hard. All he could do was listen to the bullet ripping apart air and his loud heart beat he couldn’t move or shout as the bullet slowly touched his head ...

Austin woke up panting very hard, sweat all over his body and forehead, starring straight at Mr Mark with sharp eyes who was touching his forehead. He quickly moved Mark’s hand off his head lighting fast surprising even Mark. Both of them staring at each other in pin drop silence... “What were you trying to do boss” said Austin with cold tone.
“Me? I was trying to wake you up from your night mare. I saw your face scrunched and your body sweating bullets. It’s a surprise that a boy who can kill more than 2 metre giant with body of dwarf can also have nightmares....What did you see?”
Austin organized his thoughts remembering how he fell asleep after absorbing little energy from core, he came up with an excuse to send Mark away. “fuu.... I saw you feeding me strange potions and stealing my money after trapping me in a magical prison. You smell very strange get away.”
Mark quickly got up and smiled sheepishly “haha it’s smell of my new potion. Do you really think I will do that for some silver coins?”
“says the man who bargained till midnight for those coins.” Austin tried to get out of shop but Mark stopped him.
Mark had nothing to say he wanted to get angry but looking at Austin who was angry and pissed off for some reasons he decided to let it slide. “It’s ok if you don’t want to tell me maybe some other time? Go and take a bath for now and get ready for your training.”
Austin did as he was told and got inside bathroom quickly. “ I still have those dreams even after every thing ended.. and I almost made him angry I will have to apologize later.” he breathed deeply he was angry because of himself. For a man working behind a mask his whole life it was uncomfortable when Mark saw him in his pathetic condition, all weakness exposed it was akin to being naked and the nightmare didn’t make it any better.

Mark still remembered Austin’s eyes that looked like a wounded beast sending shivers down his spine. ‘if he had a weapon at hand he would have cut of my arms immediately... That child is too abnormal. Just what type of things did he suffer? Guess I over did it this time.’ thought Mark shaking his head and safely storing the bottle with half filled potion labelled..... nightmare potion.

Broken Skulls, a Skeleton's Tale
Summoned as a Skeleton with no name, and unable to remember who he was. On the second floor of a dungeon in the heart of a city, with adventurers all seeking fortune and glory in its depths. No weapons. No Armor. No name. Only the grim determination to stay alive... At all costs. ---------------------------- Author's Note: This is the first story I've attempted writing in roughly seven years. While my writing style may be a bit rusty, I hope to be able to provide nothing more than a good book to sit down and read for awhile. P.S. I might not be able to be consistent with updates to the story, but I'll do my best! I hope you enjoy! ---------------------------- Cover art done by ShayeSoForgetful.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
