《Dark Elf Maria》Reborn

Or so I thought.
I do not know what happened after I lost consciousness inside that bus to hell, nor do I know how long ago it was.
When I came back to me it was all dark, the weirdest feeling I have experienced thus far. It was not the darkness you experience while in a room with the lights out, it was true darkness, like everything surrounding me was gone. Nothingness.
"Maybe I truly am dead."
My senses were gone; I could not taste, feel, hear nor see a single thing. I think I do not even have a body anymore, whenever I try to move any part of me there is no reaction at all. Time no longer makes sense; hours, days, years, it does not matter how much it passes if I cannot perceive it some way. Will I be stuck in this void forever?
If I am dead, this must be hell.
It should be, I wasted my life after all. Never helped anyone, never loved anyone and never accomplished a single thing. Truly, my soul would not have been welcomed in heaven.
Suddenly, a voice interrupts my depressing thoughts; one speaking in some kind of language I cannot understand. Nonetheless, I am delighted; for the first time in God knows how much, I am hearing something. Even though is just some gibberish, I am so glad to recover my hearing.
The noises start becoming increasingly louder until they turn into screams, shaking the inside of my head painfully. I believe they come from a woman, somehow it feels that way. Maybe I am still inside the bus, maybe they are crying for help.
My uneasiness grows as I continue being unable to wake up, I want to scream, to run, to know where the voices come from.

As my desperation reach its limits, I start to feel an indescribable numbness surrounding my body. I still cannot move my legs or arms, but I can feel them there; they are tiny, weak, not like they were before.
It all hurts, why does the first thing I feel when I recover my body is pain. What is happening to me? Am I crushed underneath the bus or something?
A light appears and I recover my sight, all my senses are coming back at once, all in unpleasant ways. The light erases the nothingness surrounding me and I start to grasp for air; no, it seems as my body doesn’t even remember how to breath.
"Now, I am dying."
The light, the pain, me suffocating. These are my last moments; I guess the crash did not kill me instantly.
While I am praying and saying goodbye to my life for a second time, what I believe to be a hand grabs me violently and my whole world turns bright, too bright to even see a thing. I can feel myself surrounded by warm water, the big hands that a moment ago were threatening me now caress me dearly and I can hear a faint cry, different from the ones before.
It comes from… me?
Wait. This can´t be. I am tiny enough to fit into someone’s hands.
I was mistaken, awfully so, I was not dying… I was being reborn.

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

STAGNANTE: Land of Stagnation
Brogdar's southern continent is known as the Land of Stagnation; rather than deserts and drylands, the land here is filled with harsh steppes. Monsters walk its plains and most nations send criminals who've murdered to die here. These criminals overtime formed clans and tribes that were able to carve an existence out of the massive continent, yet unable to break the flow of the god's minions. To this day, criminals still arrive and pray to join these tribes. And as the boats arrive from the northern nations, Ronin Londer discovers tribeless criminals that aren't able to join right away: Stagnante. The only question he faces now is if he'll survive. Set in the farflung corners of the setting created for STEM: The Topical Dungeon, Stagnante follows Ronin Londer trying to survive the land of stagnation. Monstrous beasts, other stagnante, and even the tribes themselves will stand in his way to finding a new life in this land. This series will release chapters at irregular intervals, with a focus on the story taking "as long as it takes" to be told right.
