《Dragon's Misery》The battle of Ignar the Madman

To return to the time we had fled and, before meeting John, the column of soldiers, specialized in wyvern subjugation, was at Mom's corpse.
Prince Star:
"Finally, we found the lair for this filthy monster." whispered til.
"Zafar, are the spells ready? We're not spotted?"
Zafar: "If the spells of discreetness, silence and odor camouflage didn't work, we'd already be in ashes."
"We're going to attack it in 2 phases: de-buffing it and dropping it into runic nets and killing it here on the ground."
"We're going to use powerful spells with expensive scrolls of archimages," Star told his men.
"These tools cost so much money that we could feed hundreds of people for a year with this value."
Zafar and several magicians then cast a levitation spell and then a team of about ten knights and a ballast launcher (to fire harpoons) levitated in silence.
The trigger ball was placed at the entrance and the trigger rope through the gaping hole.
a cable connected the ballista to the ground below.
A scroll of illusion and silence was torn apart and the men ventured inside.
And very quickly they felt the stench of the accumulated corpses and treasures scattered all over the bottom and a large pile of gold and gems on which Ignar was wallowing.
He was not asleep and was awake. He sniffed and smelled the air. However, he was looking in the direction of the soldiers but did not detect anything.
"BIZARRE BIZARRE, the forest is strangely silent, as if waiting for a gesture!" he thought.
Then, without warning, He roared!
GROOAAAAAAARRRRR!
But nothing, no reaction, usually the intruders would run away and be spotted.
Something was not right.
His lack of intelligence was compensated by his keen senses and intuition.

All his senses were on alert but he didn't know what.
He felt the humidity of human exhalation.
But it was blocked not naturally.
He changed his vision mode, into infrared and ultraviolet but nothing...
But he saw that some stones were warmer than others.
GRRRRRRRR, he said.
Then suddenly, he felt tired, as if he was being pumped. A de-buff ??
Yes, that's a magician.
"MAGICIAN, SHOW YOURSELF! I KNOW YOU'RE THERE! IF YOU SHOW UP, YOU'LL HAVE A SHORT DEATH. IF I FIND YOU, YOU'LL DIE A LITTLE BIT. I LOVE THE CRIES OF THE MAGI AND THEIR INCANTATIONS!"
DEbuff.
GRRR, he turned in all directions and stumbled, he felt like a rope or an invisible chain attached to his leg.
FLEE, he felt the danger but too late.
He took his impetus and blew fire in front of him, and roasted 5 soldiers with their shields that were useless.
For his misfortune he touched the rope of the trigger ballista who triggered and punctured his wing and the mechanism below pulled him to the ground.
He crashed painfully and could not fly away, harpooned like a carp.
GRRRRR
He blew and beat his tail but nets with weights were thrown at him and he was slowed down. He wanted to escape but the ropes got tangled and slowed him down.
Well-positioned ballistas pulled their harpoons and one of them crossed his neck.
He died slowly as his victims did and the prince watched him die and spit out the names of the innocent people he had devoured.
But before he died, the prince asked him why he was so mean.
Ignar replied: "Ask your father...
I helped him win the war and I was his horse.
To thank me, he killed my female and my children and left me for dead.
I swore revenge and killed all the humans who contributed to the rise of your kingdom.
If I had killed you, my revenge would have been realized, but you were stronger. I congratulate you.
Do as I do, Purge your enemies of the kingdom.!!"
Star: "How did you learn to speak common?"
"Your grandmother was raised by my mother, when she got lost in the woods after an attack to kill the royal family. I loved your grandmother and she was a sister to me. She taught me everything I know. I loved the people but you betrayed me and took everything. And you're still taking me now"
On this the prince gave the order to heal his wounds, heal him and lock him up in the castle so that he could recover and pay for his crimes in the dungeon.
"Aren't you going to kill me?"
Star : "You're more cruel than I thought, more crazy or smarter."
"I'm just a dragon and I admit I'm less intelligent than you, but maybe one day I'll understand."
Star: "You'll have plenty of time to understand in the dungeon. A brave death doesn't suit you. I want to see you cry, regret, shout, scream, scream and ask forgiveness so that you can redeem your crimes. And also to show you that human beings are magnanimous and not the barbarians you think we are."
Thus Ignar was transported to the castle and put in a special dungeon to "keep" the trunk.
The captivity went well with his nickname: Ignar the mad or the one who doesn't know, the IgnarE made mad.
His screams sometimes echoed in the castle.
But in one year, not a single tear has been shed yet. That's what the prince and the king wanted.
Dragon tears....

Paul explained to me that my biological father Ignar had been captured alive and was chained to the bottom of a hole with only bread and vegetables as a diet.
The news was laughed at and it was a treat for Ignar's health!

Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
