《Debts Come Due!》Day-14 Making off like Bandit's!

"Load up everything and cast those illusions on us, I want us to be invisible to even Dragons flying over head." Sasha told Tea just before first light.
They would be getting everything ready in the dark so that if anyone happened to be spying on them they would remain unseen. Illusions were cast on both the cart making it look far smaller then it was, on the gold they had found making it look like pottery. On the hydras body that was walking on beside them to make it look like another far less valuable creature.
They were taking no chances with all this wealth they had aquired!
"Got it, you just make sure that nothing gets missed. Smithy can you check to make sure that the defense spells I placed on the cavern are all still in place?" She said to Sasha before turning to her goblin friend.
"No problem, just make sure that those illusions are done properly. Even just making the damn thing look alive if anyone does manage to get through your other spells will make a world of difference." He said as he headed outside the cavern.
"Hay Embrda, do you got the proof for the bandit extermination?" His sister said while checking their things.
"Yeah I got it right here if anyone want's to double check that it is all here or do we need something more?" He asked while looking at the ring's gathered and the shrunken heads from the leaders.
"Yep that should be all of it, thanks for holding on to the heads by the way. When we get back we will need to process the hydra and give one of it's hearts to the Lady." His sister said in response. "Let's get on our way."
"You know some might question our over caution for going so such extreams with keeping everything safe right?" Smithy asked his friends while tinkering with some mild explosives.
"Some people are idiots who want to get robbed by the first person with a sharp stick." Embrda told his small friend.

He even knew from experience because he had done the very deed as a little kid. He had gotten his start as a thief with that and bought the nice hat he still had to this day. He had added some fethers to the brim over the years. He rather liked the hat and stoked the brim of it with one finger.
"I am not disagreeing with you mind, just thought I would point that out you know. Gathering up so many people that are all this overly cautious is not an easy feat. I would have expected at least one of us to be the dumbass." The goblin told everyone while waving around his bomb.
"I can make my own luck." Sasha told them.
"Ha, I like a girl that knows how to make a good joke." Tess told the group while playing with his pups using a hydra bone.
"It's not a joke, I can manipulate my own luck and the luck of those around me." She said matter of factly.
Everyone looked at her as if she had suddenly grown a second head. Had she really just claimed to have a hand up on destiny, on fate herself.
"Are you being serious here?" Teamasa asked increadusly.
"Yep, just don't go spreading that around. It tends to make nutters really mad for some reason." She said while watching a butterfly flutter past.
"Maybe because fate and death hate to be cheated." Drassisa said with a raised eyebrow.
"Who told you that, it certinly wasn't either of the two that is for sure." Sasha said back matching her friends experssion.
"What makes you say that and do you know something that the rest of us do not?" Tea asked her curosity getting the better of her.
"When I was a little girl I had the chance to talk with them for a little while because my dad had to call on chance for someone to babysit me." She said while grinning. "It turns out that the two ladies that came to our door was Fate and Destiny them selves."

"We played games all night and it took me forever to figure out how they were cheating. They cheated the whole time we played. I was so mad but they just kept telling me to cheat better and I would win a hand. I was Five!" Sasha said while remembering one of the most agrivating times in her life.
"I did win a game though. The last one that we played and for my victory I was give some advice. 'We all cheat at the game, it is part of what makes it so fun. Just know that sooner or later even the best hand wont win you the game because someone will have cheated better then you.' I always did love the triplets after that." Sasha said with great fondness in her voice.
"What do you mean triplets?" Tess asked confused by her statement.
"Fate, Destiny, and Chance make up the domain of luck. They are not often worshiped as gods because they are not that small. You congratulate a puddle for being wet, not a waterfall or an ocean." Sasha stated as if it made all the sense in the world.
After a moment of thinking about it they came to realise her point. Even the gods them selves are bound to Fates moods, Destiny's embrace, and Chances whims. They could not escape them or even resist them for long.
To put it another way you had to be on the level of a god to stand a chance of delaying them for any stretch of time and the fact that Sasha claimed to be able to do the same in her own way was frightning.
"So you can just bend it however much you want. Take control of your own fate and all that." Embrda asked warry of his friend.
"No, nothing so grand. I just play the game instead of trying to fight it. The gods hate admiting that there is anything above them so they resist as long as they can and time makes fools of them all for it. They are ants standing in defiance of a hurricane where as I am just cheating at Rantaan." Sasha said as she smiled at her knew friends.
After some time where everyone went and tried to figure out how they felt about that the siblings came to a decission and asked their leader a question.
"Will we be able to do that? Chance fate and all that." The brother asked Sasha.
"Doubtful. You are given powers based on what you do in life so that they help you over the course of your entire lives. Not just at one moment." She told them. "For Drassisa it will probably be something about healing and the like where-as Embrda will most likely have something to do with stealth. Invisibilty prehaps. You do get other things but this has to be personal to you." She explained.
"They why do you get to mess with things on a cosmic scale." They asked after looking at each other.
"Because I have spent my entire life stacking the deck in my favor. It is why I am a Paladin. It is why I formed this group. It does have consequence after all. I play the game so I am a player and not just an innocent bystander like the rest of you." She said as way of explaining how the entrie world works.
She then added, "my life will never be boring, it may even be why the bandits were where they were. Whatever shit storm is fixing to come from that whole mess is on my head."

A Friendly Voidling
When a Creature of the Void fails to find friendship among her own kind, she instead sets her sights upon another, human-filled world. Unfortunately, humans turn out to be rather small and squishy things, resulting in a mostly accidental trail of death, destruction and madness as she embarks on her journey to finally make some friends. This is a 25k word inane short story, and makes no attempt at being serious or realistic. It's my first attempt at trying a more comedic writing style. No relation to my other stories, aside from a brief cameo. Cover bodged together with Charat Genesis. Not quite the design I had in mind, but reasonably close. Doesn't contain explicit smut, but does contain references to stuff happening off-screen. May contain traces of gore. Also eels, in varying states of distress. Posted here and scribblehub.
8 163The Ancient Tree's Journey
On a planet far away from Earth, an ancient tree lives inside a beautiful forest. When the tree realises that its life is coming to an end, it creates a seed without a soul. The seed begins a long journey, being passed from person to person, until it finally collides with the soul of a girl from Earth and sprouts. With her human knowledge, the girl tries to survive in this world... as a tree. Note: This is my first time writing a novel, so my writing style might be a little rough around the edges sometimes, especially the first twelve are still amateur style. I'll probably rewrite them at some point... later perhaps. Also, the MC will be introduced in chapter 13. The first twelve chapters are more of an introduction to the world, so they bear little significance to the main story. Still, I recommend reading it if you want to get a better view of the world. Chapter releases once every four days.
