《Super Sekken (An Action Shonen Story)》Vol. 10, Ch. 22: Sky High

While Miyuki was facing her opponent, Sora was facing the other two figures in the main alleyway. As expected, these two were having quite the trouble against Sora. One was panting and gripping his knees while the other was holding her sore arm. In contrast, Sora was in a pretty fine state, only having a ripped shirt and some minor bruises.
"I must say, you are just as I remembered you to be, Sora! You never stop growing in power... after all, you were Stronzo's equal." The panting one commented before quickly regaining posture. He then held his hands out. In his hands two bright transparent balls would form.
"This town is only big enough for one ruler, and I would rather one that is not high off of his rocker. Steve, you don't truly wish to stay working for that psychopath, do you?" Sora asked, getting back in a martial arts stance while he waited for Steve and the girl to attack.
"Ay, watch your mouth, boy! Stronzo's not high off of his rocker, you're the one that fled like a little bitch when you got a Hot Tamale. Man, you should have taken that as a blessing! With your house reduced to ash, you could have chosen to stay loyal to your only real home! But nah, when you got the chance to flee, you chose to round up some pathetic rejects to face us." The girl would speak up, then clasping her hands together. Once she spread them apart, a bright bundle of cubes would form in her hands.
"If you Barricades are so confident that you can protect Stronzo from me, then why don't you prove it? You've taken a beating and here I am with a couple small bruises. What a disappointment... I expected a better fight from what were some admirable people back in the day."
"Your wish is my command, Sora. Come on Jen, let's get him!" Steve turned to the female and gave a confident smirk. With this small talk, both had some time to recover. Both Steve and Jen then ran at Sora, who responded in kind by charging after them too.
Within a few meters of each other, Sora leapt into the air and threw a soccer kick for Steve's face. Mid-throw however, his back leg would suddenly raise as an energy cube is found underneath, said cube raising Sora's body up so the attack would just miss Steve.
Steve then chuckled, throwing both of his transparent energy balls at Sora's kicking leg. "You're a skilled fighter, I give you that, but there's a line drawn between 'skilled' and 'smart'!"
Sora looked down to see the balls that homed in for his leg. In a sudden attempt to save himself, he then threw his body into a back flip off of the energy cube and landing swiftly on the ground. Light on his feet, Sora then dashed like a bullet for Steve's chest and threw a firm right-hook. That punch would miss yet again when Sora's body was, once more, raised above Steve's, the attack missing.
Every time he approached Steve and Jen to do an attack, his body moved upwards. Both Jen and Steve share similar abilities: Steve could create balls of energy that can raise and lower whatever it is attached to regardless of gravity. Jen on the other hand could create energy cubes which she can multiply and stack perfectly to a seemingly indefinite amount. With their combined abilities, both can work together to evade any physical danger by forcing them to move over their heads.

What caused Sora to miss Steve this time was a staircase made by these stack able energy cubes, which now had the transparent balls from earlier attached to each side. His expression was one of surprise. How was she able to form this staircase so quickly? Sora could only conclude that she had improved her speed by great margin since he last saw her as a Barricade, and especially so if he couldn't trace her movements. Jen was a newbie when he last saw her, but he could only assume that Stronzo wasn't slacking around, and was sure to turn her into a master within the time he had.
"You love stairs, don't you? Man, I should have given you to Miyuki. She would have LOVED to fight you!" Sora taunted with a sly smirk, looking down from his now slowly increasing height off of the ground. With the help of the stairs and the hoverballs, Steve and Jen were beginning to look like mere ants below him.
"Really?! Wait- you're being sarcastic, aren't you?" Jen asked. She was initially excited, but had her hopes crushed when she realized he was being sarcastic.
"Of COURSE I am you dolt!" Sora yelled, continuing to calmly look down as he ascended further and further off of the ground.
"Not a time to be joking around, traitor! You seriously fell for our trap! Any minute now you'll be nothing but a flat pancake on the pavement!"
"We'll see about that, Jen G.! You're quite the confident one for such a lame ability!" Sora then took a slow deep breath in after speaking, then closing his eyes.
"Closing your eyes?! Are you serious?! Alright Stevie, I'm showing that traitor what-for if he thinks he can best us handicapped!" Jen would say, the binds to her stacked stairs being broken, causing every energy cube to be dropped to the ground from what had to be at least five hundred feet in the air!
Meanwhile, Sora had hung his arms out to the side. He was embracing the long drop that awaited him. Everything was going to plan just as he had hoped. Within about a hundred feet from the ground, Sora took another deep breath in, his body being filled to the brim with the bright glowing Ki.
"There's no way you can survive– WHAT THE?!" Jen and Steve shouted together in shock as they felt their bodies being blown back. With a mighty exhale from Sora's mouth, the alleyway surrounding them was turned into a great wind storm! Both Jen and Steve tried their best to remain on their feet, but Sora's strength quickly proved too great and sent them tumbling backwards with the rest of the debris.
This wind also acted as something to break Sora's fall, propelling him a few feet off of the ground briefly and allowing him to make a gentle landing while being unscathed. His face wore a contented smirk on his face while he walked over to the shaken duo. "As I said: You were pretty confident despite having such lame abilities. The only reason you two are working for the Barricades was because The Boss was desperate for protection and all of the lame spots, by that I mean Captain of the other branches, were taken. The only decent abilities I am cautious about are Testu's and Stronzo's..."
Steve weakly stood on his feet, holding his head which sustained some bloody cuts on it. "I-it ain't lame! I-if you want lame, look at my brothers! M-mine is far superior–"

"I know, and that's why he's Captain of the Baggers and you're a Barricade."
"Powers aren't lame if you know how to use 'em!" Jen spoke up, beginning to pull herself on her feet too.
"I know... but clearly you guys don't." Sora malevolently chuckled, then held his hand out in front of him. "I'll just finish you guys off now. It's disappointing how short you two have fallen, but I expect no less from ones who choose the rule of insanity over the rule of rationality." Sora then charged another hurricane breath. He intended to use that to blow through the gaps in his fingers, similarly to what he used to calm Miyuki down. Instead of a soothing one, it is a forceful one that concentrates his winds through it, creating piercing jets of air to forcefully incapacitate or even kill his opponents.
Jen and Steve watched Sora start his finishing move with indescribable horror. There was no escaping this, both knew exactly what was about to come next!
It had finally come... the end.
Miyuki peeked her head around the corner. She had just returned from defeating the Intangible Guy, known to Sora as 'Tetsu', and was shaken to her core by the feeling of Sora's true power. He NEVER showed her THAT LEVEL of intensity in their sparring, and it frightened her even more seeing what he was going to do to the terrified Jen and Steve with that strength. In an effort for protection, Miyuki ducked back into the alleyway she came from, holding her head and covering her ears... There was no time to act otherwise, so she could only hope that this finishing attack would be done and over with quickly.
One second had passed...
Two seconds had passed...
Three seconds had passed...
There was nothing. The alleyways were still intact, the debris was in their same spot, and there were no screams of pain. When Miyuki uncovered her ears, all that could be heard were the sounds of rapid footsteps.
"What is going on? Did he do it already?" Miyuki asked herself, then leaning her head to look outside of the alley she was in. She could see not one, but two people running by, a male and female making an escape across the street!
"No no no no!" Miyuki said in a panic, jumping up to her feet and sprinting out of the alley to chase after them. "Hey! Come back here!" Neither Jen nor Steve reacted to her demands.
From one of the buildings they were running to, a red light could be seen from a window, that light disappearing when Jen and Steve passed by. While she ran, Miyuki briefly noticed that red light, but was too focused on the two escaping Barricades. No matter the amount of strength she could muster, these two were still pulling away with their own superior speed. There was no use trying to keep up because they were simply too great for her exhausting body to keep up. It was inevitable that Miyuki would succumbed to her exhaustion, and when she did, she would be brought to a halt and grasping her knees.
"Damnit... they got away..."
Once they disappeared from her sight, Miyuki turned back towards the alleyway where Sora was. She couldn't see clearly what was in there, because she had ran a considerable distance from it. Her vision was beginning to blurry, and her legs, nae, her whole body was jittery. Once she got a better look of that alleyway, dread filled her young heart, and left her in sorrow. "No no no no no NO!" She screamed, feeling a lump in her throat swell. She couldn't even comprehend the next few seconds. From one moment she was across the street, and the next moment she was by the side of her leader, who lay motionless... and dead. Her mind had went numb, and all her body could do was move, since her mind had lost its ability to think.
When Miyuki's shock had subsided, she could gauge the wound Sora had sustained. His chest had a small hole punctured through his back and outside the front. It was directly where the heart was. "You can't! YOU CAN'T BE!" Miyuki yelled, grabbing his wrist and attempting to feel a pulse...
"YOU CAN'T BE DEAD!" she sobbed, falling to her knees and holding her face. There was no way he was defeated so easily! He was invincible! He was the one who could save everyone from this hell! He was her teacher, the one that taught her to overcome her weakness! What happened to that scary power from a moment ago?! Most importantly, he was her first real friend! Sekken's head hung over his pierced chest, tears flowing through her hands, and mixing with the pool of blood she was kneeling in.
"Come on! Come on!" she then clenched her fist, angrily throwing it down on his chest. "You can't be dead! You can't just leave me like this! I can't fight all five of them on my own, I'm too much of a damned coward!" she said in between sobs, then landing another fist onto her friend's chest.
"WAAAAKE UUUUUUP!!!!"
The alleyway fell into silence. This silence lasted for an uncountable amount of minutes. It could have been 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or even 10 minutes. Miyuki didn't know, and nor did she care. It all felt the same to her regardless of the amount of time. There was no saving him by now, but even more so, there was no saving herself. Sora was their only shot at victory... and within a single second, now she is the only one in this alleyway who could fight. Though, if she couldn't even catch those two Barricades, then surely her power wasn't going to save her from the impending doom awaiting her.
This time of dread and mourning would be broken by the wail of sirens in the distance. At last, the emergency services were arriving at the still-burning homeless shelter. They were going to find Sora's body quickly and she didn't want to be found with it, so she had to move... problem was, she didn't feel like she had the strength to.
"Sora... Manaka... Megami..." She muttered while burying her face in her hands again. "I'm such a damned failure..."

Pocket Dungeon Lite
Based on the Pocket Dungeon original novel made by Stuckin (I asked for his permission beforehand). I do not know if this could count as a fanfiction as I made up many elements on the go so, for now, I will list this as an original but if Stuckin-sama would like me to change it I will be fine with doing so. This is somewhat of a self-insert but I made sure not to make the MC to OP. Also, the creator of the cover is Vurguy I tried to contact him to ask for permission but couldn't due to technical issues please go support him on Deviant Art and I don't own the picture so if he wants me to take it down than I am completely okay with doing so. As I am an improving author, I am glad to receive any constructive criticism or critical review I just hope that everyone will give me a chance before they yell at me for something or at least tell me what made them angry so I know what the issue is and can figure out how to deal with it. For now, my schedule is 1-2 chapters a week and if I am busy with either work or school 1-3 chapters every 2 weeks. I expect a bunch of chapters at the beginning around 5 or so and for me to continue from there. I will try my best to keep some chapters in storage for any time where I can't write for whatever reason. I will continue to change this part of the synopsis if anything changes in my update schedule. - From a thoughtful Author Pocket Dungeon is a widespread interstellar game that has captivated the attention of many races and civilizations. Nowadays in the 2300s anyone not living under a rock would grow up with a dungeon and learn to manage it over time as they make mistakes along the way. But as all things go there is always an exception and this exception can be found in Nadezhda Ledopad who had an overprotective family that didn't let him interact with anything but those they deemed worthy and safe. This overprotectiveness caused them to forbid him from gaining a pocket dungeon as they knew with his intelligence and specialties in certain fields he would become a strong dungeon master, quickly. This was something his family was very much against as they knew that his competitiveness and duty to maintain the Ledopad family's reputation would push him to win in the competitions that he would inevitably get invited too. This all changed when Nadezh graduated high school and moved to the Celestial Plane capital star as a Prodigal student in planetary conservation (major) and revival of species through DNA transferal (minor). His brother in all but blood Tet schemed to get him into Pocket Dungeons when they got there as no one would keep Nadezh from playing. Nadezh excited to join his peers in this famous game looked forward to doing so. But with this one decision, many futures changed and the Fates laughed as people of strong destinies meet together on this plane. Warning - This will probably contain LGBT+ relationships. You have been warned, I will not tolerate stupidity to the ninth degree in the comment section and I hope that people can be logical enough to GO AWAY if they don't like this kind of thing. If you don't feel comfortable with mature or explicit scenes I will put a warning in the chapters or parts with such and I just wanted all of you to know that this will be a long novel as with most novel I will write in the future so don't expect a deep romantic relationship anytime soon.
