《The Firefly Diary》Eternal Night P2: War

It took Ahmond a long time to realize her quality. It wasn't until after Mosor's speech and after seeing her nightmare version of reality she knew what her quality was.
She was afraid her friends wouldn't like her. She hated it when others couldn't depend on her for laughter or amusement. Not that she imagined it'd be in a nightmarish land.
That land disappeared with the light. Instead they were trapped in a world of infinite twilight. Platforms of fuschia formed a walkway, despite not being attached to anything. It seemed like they defied gravity. The paths went endless towards the horizon, ringing around a tree whose roots went down and sucked up the purple aether below.
"Is this where the final treasure is at?" Ahmond asked. Her cousins and brother stood beside her.
Kyofi seemed distantly bothered by something. Maybe she needed others to depend on her as well. Problem was she wasn't dependable enough. Mosor examined the area, but seemed otherwise fine, emboldened and passionate from her speech. Vanos stood shocked, afraid of the new land.
Vanos said, "We need to wake up soon." There had to be a trick. He tried closing and opening his eyes as hard as he could. He tried to think "wake up" as hard as he could. He pinched himself.
Ahmond said, "I think we need to start focusing on what Lhyna's goals were, because she's the one who caused this. In some way."
Kyofi shook her head. "I think we've been assuming too long she's been in charge of it all. I think something else is at play here, like we're working for a goddess for no reason."
Vanos said, "If we go back home, we have to face our family members. Then we're going to be alone together."

"They can legally summon me back home," Ahmond said. "Then you guys will be down one quality, and you'll all have to fight off against Lantorn."
Kyofi said, "This situation is messed up on all levels." She took the first step forward. Everybody trudged on.
Vaguely, they made out the idea that the tree came any closer. Within it's branches, sparkled a purple gem.
"That must be the last treasure," Vanos said as he saw it. "Not that it matters. Lhyna's been talking crazy. She says none of these were the first of the treasures."
"That's right." A voice came up from within the tree, and they caught sight of Lantorn. Too bad she had been over a mile away seemingly. She didn't project her voice, as the pocket dimension had an echo.
"We're ready to fight," Vanos said. "Tell me where Mynt and Arber are, and we can get this done once and for all."
Lantorn shook her head. "Too many times we've fought. Maybe we can take a bit of a rest? Now that we're in an entirely new world."
"We're dreaming of a new world," Ahmond said. Lantorn shook her head again, and fear gripped their hearts.
"No, you actually summoned yourself to a new world. How about we put it all on the line, then? You have one, I have one, and there's a third undecided treasure, right?" Lantorn jumped off of the tree and back onto a platform. Arber and Mynt followed, having hid behind branches.
The two teams went to each other, the walk seeming forever. It was, of course, a mile long walk.
They converged at a halfway point. Four versus three, the numbers seemed in their advantage, but none of them had their previous treasures. Then the treasures materialized. Guess that solved that situation.

"Must be magic," Mosor said. She waited to engage in combat. Lantorn drew her treasure out, the goblet.
Vanos retaliated by using the mirror to call forth steam. None of them could see, except Vanos. The wind burst out of the goblet, pushing away fog in a condensed cone. Vanos pushed his siblings aside as he jumped at her.
He bit down on the goblet, pried it from Lantorn's grasp. Arber came down, picked him up, and threw him off the side of the platform.
He fell, and was stuck falling in an infinite twilight. His family called out, "Vanos!" Mynt herself had a look of shock.
"That's my brother!" Mynt told Arber. She couldn't believe she indirectly murdered Vanos by grouping with them.
"He'll be fine, this is simply a pocket dimension. He'll likely fall out before noon," Lantorn said. "Where, I don't know. That's his problem, however." From the conversation, Kyofi got a chance to grab the mirror. She summoned more steam.
"Guess this means anyone can use it," Kyofi said and she charged into Arber. He received her, and threw her over in a suplex.
Nope, that didn't work. Meaning there were only two of them left. Mosor decided she'd try running around to their backs.
Mynt wasn't fighting anymore, too frozen from the consequences. Mosor went at Arber and tried putting him in a full nelson. Ahmond came and headbutted into his gut.
Lantorn ran, headbutted Ahmond off the cliffside before Arber got Mosor off and threw her over. It was going to be a long fall. On the plus side, they fell with the goblet. Guess it wasn't a one for one, right?

8 196Limitless Adaptation
Jamie, 19, was walking into the kitchen for dinner when he suddenly found himself walking down a street in another world, a world with a game system. There, he meets a half-dragon, half-human named Adam, who faces adversity in most places, because of his parentage, and not long after they meet, the two of them are forced to leave town, due to Adam's beast nature. In the world of Tielmar, there are species of all varieties, a Class exists for nearly everything, and Skills come in quite a few forms. Jamie starts off with a Skill called "Limitless Adaptation", which supposedly allows him to adapt to any need, but is it really as powerful as it sounds? And more importantly - can it help him survive in a world where his first friend is a reject in all communities? Will Jamie, Adam, and the other friends and teammates they make in their journey find peace, allies, and love? Or will they fall to the powerful Adventurers that soon begin to hunt their team, to claim the bounties on several of its members, a bounty Jamie himself quickly finds on his own head? All of Book 1 is now posted, and Limitless Adaptation is officially done with the decision to rewrite. Credits for the cover go to me. That duck decided it wanted to nest in the flowerpot in front of my bank, so I took a picture of it.
8 213Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
8 544Blue Road
Richard didn't heed his guardian's warnings about the mysterious and shady place from the flyer he came across. He wanted a big break and a chance to make quick and easy money, but never expected to find himself tricked and caught in a twisted experiment conjured up by scientists. Transformed into a monstrous blue, blob-like creature, Richard flees the scene in a panic. He teams up with a ghostly child named Fawn, who wants revenge on her parents' killer, and leaves town to find the one responsible for their (recently) destroyed lives. Federal Agents, corrupt corporate heads, shady scientists, and even the police are all on his trail. Richard will need to use his newly honed skills to uncover the truth of who's really behind the scenes, and who to trust. What will they uncover? [Heads up, it's going to be a slow burn, and will take a while for the story to really get going.]
