《EX-Tier Loser (GameLit Fantasy)》8. Learning by Dying

Fake Rena didn’t move at all. She just stood idly while looking at me with her sharp eyes.
‘Fuck. How do I beat her?’
My mind was working faster than usual. My heart pounded against my chest, loud in my ears.
I was knocked out by Rena in just one hit. How could I beat her if she won’t hold back?
“Stop pretending. You are a Loser, but you are by no means weak!” Trainer shouted from my back.
Without him telling me all of that, I knew – I knew that I was not as weak as I portrayed myself to be. But now, I regret it. I shouldn’t have not acted as someone weak. I should’ve accepted myself for who I really was.
‘If I knew about it beforehand, then I would exercise to keep my body in shape.’
“If you can’t beat her, you will be stuck in this world forever!”
I was on the verge of giving up when his words forced me to realize it.
‘No, I will not let that happen to me. I will go out of this fucking world.’
Vigor started to fill my body. My spirit was lifted up. The thought of giving up disappeared from my head, and I stared at her to study her.
“That’s right! Being a Loser is different from being weak! Do it!”
The trainer kept shouting at me.
‘Noisy.’
Right now, I had only one thing on my mind, which was to take Fake Rena down.
“Fuu-“
I took a long breath and exhaled it.
“Haa-“
I took a stance to attack her.
The Rena I knew was not really well-versed in boxing. However, she took a boxing stance.
Rena’s specialty was weapon fighting, as well as free hand-to-hand combat, not boxing.
She put her guards up.
As soon as I was ready, I rushed towards the Fake. She still stood idly, but the ground beneath her moved.

A white stick poked out and she held it in her hand. As soon as she held the stick, it then separated from the ground and transformed into a long sword.
The blade was around 120 cm, a double-edged sword that was used in the medieval era.
I stopped my feet right before I reached Rena. As I stopped, a sharp object passed right in front of my face, slicing the wind.
It surprised me. I couldn’t register what happened; my eyes were now gazing at the sword that flashed in front of me.
Fake Rena raised her sword and swung it down. I couldn’t move. Her movements were too fast for me.
I closed my eyes in fear, and then pain followed.
The pain lasted only a second, and I heard the monotonous girl's voice again.
[You have died.]
Said the voice.
[The Condition has been met. Loser’s Struggle activated.]
Followed by another voice.
Finally, I realized what happened. I couldn’t believe it, and I now felt a cold ground on my back.
[You have been resurrected.]
Now I understood what the trainer said, and I fully understood the description of my skill.
[You are not allowed to give up.]
In the end, I wouldn’t be allowed to give up. Either giving up by retreating, or giving up by dying.
If I couldn’t beat her, I’d be stuck in this world forever.
[Enjoy your struggle, Loser.]
I accepted the situation easily. It was absurd, but I could accept it easily.
Then I remembered another effect of my skill.
Effect:
1. Time in the real world will be stopped when you are in a special dimension.
2. Your mind will be enhanced and you will never be allowed to give up.
My mind will be enhanced. Now I understand why my mind was enhanced. The skill didn’t make my brain smarter, but it enhanced my brain and willpower to make me able to face death and could think calmly to analyze the situation in a battle.

‘Maybe this death won’t be my last either’
“Grr…” I grumbled.
I opened my eyes. The trainer was looking at me with a big grin. It irritated me.
“Welcome back.”
‘Fuck.’
I raised my body slowly, and my trainer walked in front of me. He looked at me, and then crouched.
“You are weak.” He said.
I glared at him, “As if that’s not obvious.”
“That’s not what I mean.” He stretched his hand and touched my forehead with his index finger, “You lack courage. You are a coward.”
My hand moved and slapped his finger away, as I reached to his collar with another hand.
He didn’t even try to dodge it, so I grabbed his collar and pulled him closer.
“What do you know about me?!” I shouted at him.
He wasn’t afraid – rather, he was amused. He laughed.
“Hahahaha, I told you that I know everything about you.”
He grabbed my hand, which I used to pull him closer. He gripped it and it fucking hurts.
Because of the pain, I released his collar and he stood up without caring about me.
“You are not able to beat her. Do you know why?”
‘Again, he said he knew everything about me. What does he mean?’
“She’s strong,” I answered.
“Nah, no.” My trainer waved his hand in front of his face. He then pointed at me and said “It’s because you are scared.”
My eyes widened, ‘That’s true.’
He was not wrong. As soon as I saw Fake Rena holding the sword, my body was frozen in fear. I couldn’t even move, and I couldn’t even think about dodging her strike.
‘He just mocks me and laughs at me. How can a trainer act like that?’
If there was one thing that I noticed since I’d arrived in this world, it was that the guy in front of me called himself a trainer.
“So, I now know the thing that you lack. The training will start.”
His next words shattered my thoughts, and I just blankly looked at him with my mouth gaping.
He raised his index finger in front of his face and grinned.
“For now, stand up. Your body can’t get stronger in this place, but you can learn technique and how to utilize your mana.”
As he said that, his index finger was wrapped in something like blue light.
He then stabbed his palm with the finger that was wrapped in the blue light.
As if his palm was paper, the finger easily penetrated the palm. Blood ticked down from the hole, but the trainer didn’t seem to feel any pain.
He then pulled his finger and showed his palm. I could see the other side of his palm. It was cleanly penetrated.
I was surprised, but I was also fascinated by the strength that could make a hole in a hand just by thrusting a finger lightly.
“What’s that?”
“Mana coating. Your body will get stronger if you coat it with mana. However, it’s exhausting. You will learn this technique in this place. Now the question is, do you want to learn it?”
My body will get stronger if I coat it with mana.
‘Do I want to learn it?’
The answer was obvious. Only a fool would refuse such an offer.
“Of course! If that allows me to beat her, then I will accept any training.”
At that time, I foolishly accepted it without knowing the consequences.
“Good!”
He rejoiced and spread his arms.
“Then, let’s start this hellish tor- training!”

The Everyday Life of A Pathfinder
Pathfinders are people who are respected and revered, not because of power or might, but because of knowledge of the world. They are the peacekeepers between humans and nature. Guiding humans through the most dangerous areas known to man and killing any species which attempts to throw off the balance of the natural world. This is their job - and their passion. *** Note: This story is going to have a few generic elements in it, like fantasy setting, guilds, cursing and stuff like that. A few (a lot) of things it won’t have is: Overly bloody descriptions, I don’t need to have enough buckets of gore to fill a ballroom for people to get that guy is defiantly dead; Rape, I don’t like it and it’s honestly painful writing that stuff; Harems, fuck harems; Overpowered MC, EVER; Game elements/ transported to another world, overused as shit; “I’m out for revenge”, no one cares; “My village was burned down and everyone died ;-;”, yeah you and the other 60% of the population; A lot of overly dramatic events, Drama has its time and place to be impactful, so you need to use it sparingly so when you do it’s special; “I’m going to stab you because I’m CrAZy, I believe that everyone has a reason for what they do, sometimes the reason is because they’re fucking insane, but I’m still not going to write things like that; Generic fantasy creatures, I’m tired of hearing about the fucking mystical dragons or the god damn slimes, so I’m going to create my own monster. Also feel free to roast. I don't get offended easily and it's honestly one of the best ways to increase writing abilites.
