[Red Grass City]
"Hahaha, this is great!" Old Wu feel excited, not even one minute of running and he's already arrived in front Red Grass city gate, the city he lived in. It usually take a few hours for him normally to get to this place from the forest. Just one step from him while running now can cover hundred meters. Granted he haven't got used to it, so he may crash into obstacle such as rocks and trees, yet when he crash the obstacle simply destroyed and doesn't hurt him for even a bit. He did felt sorry for the tree though. He wonder if he is now have the power of advance Qi rank, or even probably spirit rank.
He stares at the gate for a while, and find something strange..The city of red grass while a only small city, is a city nonetheless. It has walls that surround the city stood high over three meter talls. There are two gate which everybody can use in the east and west of the city, Usually the gate is filled with people coming in and out of the city, which is usually farmer who has lands outside the city, merchenary, and doctor, since the city of Red Grass is got its name for special vegetation that can only grow near this city, simply also named Red Grass.
However he didn't find any of those man, only a couple people coming out the city. Also, some of the walls is in shambles, there are cracks all over the walls. 'Has earthquake or a demon beast attack the city recently?" He wonder as he approach the sole guard that station in the city Gate.
"Greeting Officer Yu." Said Old Wu gently while cupped his hands.
"Ah old wu! Welcome.Did you just head back to the city?" the guard also politely cupped his hands after noticing Old Wu.
"Ah yes, i just return from the forest. Say, could you tell me what's going on? Why is the walls cracked?" Ask Old Wu, as he peek into the city he also noticed that a few building inside the city is in ruin.
"Well, there are huge earthquake yesterday. Strangely while the earthquake is happened, there are also strange pillar of light coming from the forest." Said the guard while pointing his hand to the direction of the forest.

'Did I the one did the earthquake? So i have slept for a day?' he ponder. 'Ah no matter, since it's already a day I better quickly went to the mansion.'
"Thank you Officer, then I get going now." Said Old Wu, he cupped his hands again. "I have urgent matter to attend."
"No problem... what the...." Officer Yu shocked greatly. As Old Wu say good bye, Old Wu just stride into the city. The problem is Old Wu just take his step casually, like taking a stroll, but the distance he cover per step is very far. As he blink a few times, everytime he blink Old Wu figure is missing from the spot and move tens of meters from the previous spot. And in few seconds he couldn't see Old Wu anymore.
"How is that possible? Is that really Old Wu just now?"
[Zhang Mansion]
"So, you get the money?" ask one of the merchenary with demanding tone with the lady of the house.
"How dare you demand money? You see what happened yesterday right! How many money do you think I would need to repair the damage from yesterday earthquake?" yet the woman rebuke him, she definitely won't give them the money they demand easily. Even if she already given them her word.
"It's not our problem, so you got the money or not?" Ask another man.
"Well, if you do not want to give us the money is fine." Said their leader. "However I hear that the goverment official would come today for the final documents of inheretance. Say, What would happen if i slip one or two words to him. Hahahaha!"
"You... you.. fine!" The woman then threw a bag of money to one of them. Her face so red from anger. As angry as she is, she can't afford her evil action to be known by some official.
"Thank you. Hahaha." The leader so happy now that he got what he wanted.
"Just to be sure, you already make sure that the old man is dead right?"
"Don't you worry. That Old Wu must be dead." Said the leader assure her. "We already made sure that we lure one big animal to him. He must be dead. And the corrupt guard that you pay must be already found him by now."

"But did you see that he died?"
"Well, we didn't, but let's say it's already a given. He only have such trash martial skill, he won't survive."
"You... You..." The woman at a lost for words. Why didn't they finish the job as instructed. She understand that he almost definitely won't survive. But a little assurance won't hurt.
The original plan was to lure Old Wu to the forest and left him there, while using demon beast lure to kill him. To avoid suspicion, it must be demon beast that kill him. He cannot use the mercenary to kill him simply because it's a demon beast forest. There aren't any bandits there. All the bandits only show up on the roads, since it's generally safer because of the man made road, and all the wealthy merchant never travel through the forest. Once the demon beast kill him, one of the city guard paid by her travel to the forest for 'routine check' and identified the dead body.
Her plan should've been perfect. Yet these clowns infront of her just tell her now that they doesn't make sure they did their job perfectly. She regret her decision again more than ever. Moreover the city guard that she hired haven't report any good news yet. Is it because he still got job due to yesterday earthquake, or is it that he doesn't found anything.
She start biting her nails due to nervous. She can only hope that it would go well.
"Why... why would you do that?" Ask some old voice.
The woman recognize the voice, it's Old Wu's voice. All of the sudden all of them move their heads to the corner of the courtyard.
"I don't understand. " Ask Old Wu with sad voice. His sad face just stare at the sky.
"You! When did you get in? How dare you to come in here!" Ask the woman furiously. Yet, Old Wu just ignore her, which make her more angry.
"Is it because the rumored inheritance?" Old Wu know that there are some rummor that due to his loyalty to his late master he got some inheritance, yet he doesn't believe it due to that he feel that he doesn't deserve it. Even if he got it in the future he probably would give it to the master's son.
"You hyporcrite!" The woman shout to him.
It's worse case scenario for her. Not only her plan failed, only God knows since when did he heared their conversation. Why did no one notice her. She already made sure nobody is around and close all door, and the mansion wall is around two meters high. With Old Wu's low cultivation it's impossible to jump through it without tools.
There are no options available but one for her, she need to kill him right him right now, or the consequence will be fatal.
"Oi you clowns, finish your job now!" command her to the mercenaries.
'We understand. Guys, let's go!" Said the commander. All five of them then pull out swords which their carry on their backs. It may be overkill for four man of intermedieate plus one leader of advance Qi level, however they, or more exactly their employer would not accept it this old man survive again, be it by blind luck or another.
See the incoming agression Old Wu is not afraid, yet his heart saddened beyond belief. He felt that he do not deserve this. Hasn't he already serve this family well. Even if he no hero, hasn't he did everthing with straight path in his life. He never hurt anyone.
He always believe that if he doesn't stray from the good path, life would be good to him also, at least God would give him a quite death. Yet, it seems that he realize that he just wrong.
"No hard feeling old man, it's just your bad luck!" Said one the man as they storming their way to Old Wu with their weapon swinging up high/

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
8 258The Triumphs and Tribulations of Kai Jameson
Kai Jameson is an average everyday young man. He still lives at home with his parents after having just graduated from college. He loves playing video games and his job at the local Buy More is tolerable. Of course that all changes the moment the system arrives and the Earth is connected to the Nexus. Turns out Kai was trapped in time for about eighteen months while the people already here got a headstart on him. He lucks into being rescued by some people from a town called Donnyton and learns that if he wants to survive in this New Earth he'll have to work harder than ever before. The rewards are worth it. This is Kai's story, the moments of his triumphs, and the moments when he feels that things couldn't possibly be worse. Thanks to puddles4263 and his story The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound for the inspiration on the world this is set in. If you have never read that I highly recommend it, and if you have read it and enjoyed that story then I hope you'll enjoy mine as well. This is the first story I'm ever putting out for public consumption so reader beware on that. Any constructive criticism is always appreciated, simply leaving a half star review tells me that you're a moron who doesn't know how to use words. I'm constantly trying to improve my writing and feedback and criticism on what works and what doesn't is the only way to do that at the point I feel I am at. Last, I just marked all the content warnings because you never know where a story will take you and I don't want to exclude anything (though there will never be a harem). I am going to release 1-2 chapters per week on Fridays. Thanks and enjoy.

8 174Night Changes: Teen Wolf Vampire AU
Stiles Stilinski was the token human. He was always the man with the plan. Turning into a vampire was not part of the plan. Falling in love with Theo Raeken was also definitely not part of the plan.
