《Reincarnated as a Prince but got abandoned afterwards》Chapter 11: Dismantling Contest!

Surrounded by many Machos, Yamihr didn't falter and instead faced them off like a brave hero.
A person of the Guild entered with the purpose of delivering the monsters to be dismantled. His impression when he entered the room is like David and the giant facing each other with intense aura as they prepared for battle.
"Oh! Martha-san! This… just what is going on here!?..."
"Oh, Julius! Well, they're having a contest… No, a duel right now."
Martha faced her coworker, Julius, and explained what happened earlier in return, he exclaimed in shock.
"What in the world! Then, I will be the referee for this contest!"
Julius scampered off to mediate on the contest. He went in the middle stage that was set just a while ago and raised his right arms.
"Yosh! Hands on your weapons! Ready...Start!"
"My, my. What a happy-go-lucky person… but still, Yamhs-sama…"
Seeing her co-worker like this, Martha shook her head in resignation but was replaced by worry as she stares at Yamihr nervously.
-----------------------+++++++++++++----------------------
Yamihr and Macchio went to their respective positions as arranged by other dismantlers. They only have a set of knives for skinning and a desk.
As the surrounding intensified, someone brought two carcasses of a monster. It was a B-rank bird-type monster, Casqued.
Just as its name suggests, It has a tall casque on its head with a large build three times that of a human.
It has a defensive power similar to a wyvern but much weaker. An arrow will be deflected with its hide and a normal sword can only leave a scratch on its skin.
This Casqued is hard to hunt but is highly sought after by the populace because of its delicious meat.
With the appearance of two Casqued bird monsters, the audience cried out in surprise. They didn't think that the Guild can produce two of those Casqued birds.

"Brat, this monster has a tough skin. I'm afraid that with your tiny arms, you won't be able to injure it in the slightest. You can still surrender to save face, you know?"
"You don't have to worry about me, old man."
Macchio kindly advised Yamihr to quit before it's too late but was rejected by him without hesitation.
"I see, I'll let you glimpse at what true dismantlers are!"
After declaring his intention, Macchio breathed in slowly as his concentration reached an extremely high degree.
Breathing out all those air he took as he yelled. His muscles bulged that you can see the veins popping out of it while his knife flies out at high speed.
Leaving only a trace of white light as slabs of meat piled on the desk.
Meanwhile, Yamihr holds his knife and clad his hands in mana as he activated his unique magic [Boost].
He then slowly cut the monster in the middle. He does it as if dissecting a frog with a scalpel.
Sounds of exclamations came from the audience filled with shock and disbelief.
"How in the world!? A child can cut open a B-rank monster like a tofu!?"
"Just who the hell is he!?..."
Yamihr's opponent also looked astonished. He didn't believe that a child could make a scratch on the monster's skin much less cut it open.
After cutting it in the middle, Yamihr removes the heart, liver, intestines, and other organs. He then separated its hide and flesh after cutting the wings.
Sometime later, its hide is separated completely exposing only the reddish muscles. It was like a snake shedding off its skin.
Yamihr twirled his knife then began slicing the meat starting from the monster's backbone as he slowly cut it with a slant.

Thin slices of meat lined up in the desk as the Meat on the monster's body decreases.
Only piles of bones were left after Yamihr finished slicing the meat on the bird monster. He then spread his arms wide as if to showcase his work to others.
"Ta-da! I'm done! 'Sashimi' style slices of meat! Although It's not a fish. A ready to cook raw meat with finger bite size!"
Hearing that, the referee, Julius-kun, walked on the middle stage after a sound discussion with the audience themselves. He then raised his arms and brought it down abruptly in the middle.
"End of the duel! The winner is, Macchio-san!"
"What?..."
Whistling sound and shouts of joy echoed in the room once the winner was announced. The Machos celebrated as they congratulated Macchio, the winner.
Yamihr was somewhat disappointed by the results as his face became sullen. Suddenly, the celebrating Machos parted away as Macchio walked towards Yamihr.
"Kid, I don't know what a 'Sashimi' is… but, you can't sell the meat with only small slices…"
Macchio became silent for a moment while staring down at Yamihr, who is hanging his head down in defeat.
"However, I admit that you have what it takes to be a dismantler… You barely passed. Fine then! From now on, you can start working here as a dismantler!"
Yamihr's ear perked up. He raised his head to look at Macchio, who was gently smiling at him. Hope appeared on his eyes that started gleaming like a star.
He clenched his fist and said.
"I may have lost this time, but I'll defeat you next time!
" Ho ho! I will look forward to that day!"
Macchio just laughed it off as he stretched his arms forward and went for a shake. Yamihr in return clasped his hand and smiled brightly as they stared at each other.

8 153Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
