《Devour》Chapter 13: Lets Spar

Somewhere outside the city, Aera leads everyone to a mansion since she is the one who organized Jio's request and makes everything happens thanks to her wealth.
"The Midas family owns this building for a very long time, and if you guys need something, just ask Mr. B," Aera let out and think out loud, "I didn't know that we own this dusty old mansion..."
"Many thanks, Aera. I know it's sudden, but I want you guys to know that the Blood Moon Cult plans the rampaging beast on the auction day," Jio frankly declares in the group that surprises everyone, including Mr. B.
"Why tell us but not the teachers?" Kiba asks in confusion
"Did you guys questioned, 'how did the beast get in the school ground in the first place?' When we have a barrier that only students, visitors, and staff members can pass through," Jio replies as he looks at everyone with a serious face.
The mood changes dramatically, and Dino asks, "So what do you want to do now?"
"Get ready! Since we don't have any lead, and I want to know how strong we are as a group," Jio answers and looks at Aera, "I know your family trust someone inside the school to investigate this matter."
"It's interesting that you already know what I'm planning, but tonight we spar!" Aera announces and requests something to Mr. B, "Can you be the referee, Mr. B?"
"Certainly, miss," Mr. B complies.
They follow Mr. B behind the house and notice a plain field with few trees around.
"I'm delighted to see my young miss with many talented friends, and I'm honored," Mr. B bows and demands, "Young miss and Kiba, to the center,"

Aera and Kiba walk towards the center and prepare to fight. Aera took out her soul umbrella with a long handle, making it looks like a spear while Kiba's soul bracelet enlarges like before.
Aera's Soul umbrella: Has the bouncing and parachute effect. It provides enough defense, and Aera founds a way to utilizes this unique weapon to its fullest. With magic stone as supplementary.
Kiba's Soul Bracelet: It is made from a legendary giant dwarf dragon that can shrink or enlarge (nobody knows its actual size) and a rare heavy featherweight pig that can change its weight. Some say that this soul weapon could destroy mountains and cities with one stroke.
The only reason that Kiba can use his father's soul bracelet is because of their blood. His father didn't talk about the soul bracelet's power but told him to figure it out as he left home and enroll in Hell School.
Mr. B took out a bell and announced, "When I hit this bell, the fight begins," Without any warnings, Mr. B hits the bell, causing a single ringing sound wave visible to the naked eye.
Kiba unexpectedly throws a knife attached to a chain towards Aera while the size increases along with its weight, but this didn't make Aera panic; but instead, she opens her umbrella and uses it as a shield. The umbrella has this bouncing effect causing it to bounce back while she backflips, removing all force as her arm and leg wraps around the umbrella's handle while in the air.
Kiba swings the chain around with the blade on the end as he tries to shoots Aera down, but every time it reaches her, she uses her umbrella to block his attack, granting her force to go higher in the air.
Aera looks down, smiling innocently as she closes her umbrella, falling straight towards Kiba in a flash. At the same time, she uses two wind stones, causing her to descend faster than before with her umbrella-like spear lock towards Kiba's location.

Kiba knows that if he didn't move, he'd get heavily injures and wouldn't be able to participate in the raking competition. Before the umbrella hits Kiba, the soul bracelet releases an energy pulse that travels from his hands to his head, learning few secrets. His soul bracelet shrinks back, and his body weight decreases like feathers.
With the umbrella's might, the ground explodes, and Kida gets blown away by the wind from the explosion, but the debris hits his body badly in the end. Mr. B stops the fight and calls the winner.
"The winner! Young Miss Aera!" Mr. B announces.
Who would think that Aera is an expert on defense and offense at the same time using an umbrella?
Mickey swallowed as he watches the fight, he admits that Aera is beautiful and strong, but deep inside, he is swearing and thinks that he's not free anymore.
Aera looks at Mickey and winks at him like she knows what he's thinking right now, forcing Mickey to smile warily.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK TWO: One Cold Trail)
After their fateful misadventure in the mountainous Norther Reaches of RUNDAO, a dark new threat to all of RUNDAO has been revealed to the mercenary band of THE CREEPING BAM and their newest member, half-orc bandit SHAYLINE SWIFT-KILL. Returning their hard-won cargo to THE SILVER ORDER in their city stronghold in BAVAT, they find their well-deserved rest will have to rest – half-elf wizard GAEL FOXTAIL’s father has disappeared while performing an investigation in the coastal city of UNTERMER, and it’s up to our motley crew to find him. As a son of Untermer, wily bakaneko thief ART OF SHADOWS is the perfect choice to lead the way, but he has ghosts of his own to face as their investigation brings them into the orbit of the THIEVES GUILD. But there are daker forces at work here, and as they uncover a dark conspiracy and form an uneasy alliance with a trio of tough sellswords with their own stake in the game, led by dwarven warrior THELGAEWYNN FROSTFORGE, the Creeping Bam begin to suspect this may be connected to that unfinished business they started back up north … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

REAL
An ancient hunchback named Finnel is the principal of a school where students’ special abilities might be called magical, supernatural powers. Or, maybe those students’ heightened attributes are more like honed talents any ordinary person could discover and dedicate to developing. Either way, at Finnel's school, even the most otherworldly of traits always finds its source in something REAL . . . in actual human capacities, like intuition, empathy, awareness, strength... REAL is a series of ongoing tales, each centered around an individual student at Finnel's school. Framing slice-of-life authenticity with cool powers and uplifting humor, REAL maintains a light, fun tone while never shying away from digging down deep into weighty themes like identity, connection, and meaning.
