(If you are confused about the lack of dialogue in the story, it's because the main protagonist of the story is the one telling the story.)

"That's me"

(Yeah it is you, but the readers don't even know your name yet)

"Or probably waaaay later than that"

(Yeah maybe)

(Anyways the reason it's being told like this is so the readers can have the feeling of having the fourth wall breaking, since the story is still being told inside his head)

(Since his conciousness is stuck in one mind he can't have the 3rd person dialogue for himself)

(Yet)
