《Questers, a litRPG tale》Chapter 19

Jester Wildlands VR World
A corpse to not self explode meant there was something of value in it. Looking deeper, Dona found a silver chain pendant in the rotting bear's throat. There was a tag attached to it. She went forward and grabbed it with extreme displeasure visible on her face.
You received a fallen adventurer's pendant. Handing over the pendant to the guild in the closest city/town to receive appropriate rewards.
Looking at the chain made Dona want to vomit. Thankfully it was a VR world and the system removed these features. Dona threw the pendant towards Sam for safekeeping who took out a mana potion and washed the pendant before keeping it in his inventory. Justin clicked her tongue seeing the childish play happening in front of her eyes and the rest suddenly felt like they were being looked down upon.
While Maya and Sam were sitting back and recharging their extremely low mana, the rest stood around making sure nothing came their way.
"Why don't you just use another of your mana potions?" Justin asked. She saw him wasting one to clean a pendant earlier.
"We don't have a lot of potions," Sam said with a turn face. He knew why she asked him that and he wasn't going to dignify it with an answer. With a minimum of 10 gold, it wasn't possible to open the gold store and purchase a few extra potions. Outside the towns, they charge a massive service fee for the delivery and they could only order 10 potions in a bundle. If they had to last till level 20 in this wilderness, they had to be conservative with their mana and potions.
"How long has it been since we started playing?" Asked Dona who was pacing around the two sitting down impatiently.

"Almost thirty minutes. We have plenty of time. Don't worry." Maya said watching her slightly regaining mana pool.
Please note: the dungeon Paradise Falls has been released. 40N129E.
Difficulty: Tier 9
Thank you.
"An announcement?" Dona said looking at the rest. "It's about time, the last dungeon was released two months ago. Looks like a lot of powerhouses will be visiting our school soon." Sam said, looking a bit down. "Well, it also means a lot more breaks for us to level up. Hopefully, they don't all send TA's this time instead."
Whenever a dungeon release occurs, the closest town would reserve a mass influx of questers as the bonus experience one received was worth the effort to travel. If the dungeons are of high tier like 9 or 10, the chances are that even the top brass of the continent would come looking for a piece of the bone. It also meant trouble for the locals as the law and order tend to weaken due to the sudden surge in visitors. Qwakamolly was the city lord of the region and was responsible for holding the peace.
"Hey, maybe your mom will come too?" Jim said a little excited. "I doubt that. She might just send her butler. It's only a tier 9 dungeon." Said Sam, pouring water over Jim's thoughts.
"Fine then, let's finish this quest and go look for Astra," Maya said dusting her behind. There was a slight trace of dust lining her behind. Sam too got up as they set off looking for the wolf.
Justin was an expert when it came to wolves. She soon was able to find a trail. It looked as though this one dragged someone back to its lair. The trace amount of blood suggested that the sound might have already coagulated. It looked like the man had already died before he was dragged away.

"It's close by. This trail is fresh. There are no crossovers. Let's go." Justin took the lead as they followed the trail looking for the wolf's den. "Isn't it dangerous to hunt it in its den?" Asked Sam. "Dangerous? No, it's a lot easier if we can trap it inside. If you can cut off its mobility, then the wolves are easy to kill." Justin said, removing the sword from its sheath. "Get ready. We are here."
Justin approached the small cave with light steps trying hard not to make any crunching noises. It was an arduous effort considering she wasn't used to the heavy armour. A low howl echoed out from within the cave as if to let them know that the master of the place was aware of their presence.
"Looks like its sense of smell is still good. Guys get ready. It will attack the moment we try and barge in." The wolf was indeed preparing for her visitors inside. She stood still at a corner of the face entrance which was well hidden away from the crowd.
"Sam, can you send a flame ball to the entrance? Dona, swing wildly to the right side. I will take the left." Justin went towards the left side gripping her sword tightly. "Make sure you aim at knee height. Sam, now."
Justin and Dona jumped out to try and hit whatever they could that was behind the entrance. The fire spell gave them enough smoke and cover to confuse the wolf which was hiding to the right preparing to jump upon them. Dona's sword pierced its neck clean making it bleed uncontrollable. The wolf thrashed around on the floor while Justin jumped on it cutting the bead clean off.
"What the hell? You're amazing Justin." Dina jumped on Justin with excitement wanting to pull her into a dance. "Watch it. It's not dead yet. Said Sam, killing it off with the flame ball.
You killed a zombified mother wolf.
You received 10 experience, 1 gold.
You received 10 bonus experience.
You completed the quest.

Sam levelled up twice thanks to the quest and he looked at the others. Everyone had a smile on their face. 'Quests were indeed awesome.'
Since the experience shared was set to percentage, they all were in the same level. For now at least till they could reach a city, Sam wanted everyone to be together. So, they got up preparing to walk back towards the place where they left Astra.
