Chapter 17 Turning Myself Over To The FPD
After Iyana left the Gomez residence in a hasty posture, Selene enjoyed her last meal with her parents. Their mealtime lasted longer than expected due to the lengthy conversation they were having.
“Mom, I know you don’t like me very much but I’m going to miss you too.”
“Humph!” Hearing Selene’s kind words, Isabel Gomez crinkled her face into a vexed constitute and got up from the dining table without saying another word.
“She is going to miss you too, baby girl. As much as she acts as if she doesn’t care.” Clifton Gomez tried to make his daughter feel less apprehensive about her mother’s unusual behaviour.
“Thanks, dad.”
When it was finally time for Selene to handle her nefarious affairs, her father contacted some trusted FPD officers who he was still affiliated with since his time as senator. Before the officers arrived at their home, Selene made sure to quickly freshen up and donned herself in a fresh set of apparels.
[Knock! Knock!]
“They’re here already?” Coming down the stairs, Selene heard the banging on the front door, moreover, she saw her father opened it and invited two FPD officers.
[Thud! Thud!] The two officers that stepped inside the Gomez residence were in their mid-thirties. By the stride carried out by their legs, a keen observer could realize that these men weren’t strangers to the Gomez abode. Both of them paid their respects to the former senator of Bay City before carrying out their official duties.
“Senator Gomez, we came as soon as we received your call. You did the right thing by contacting us. We’ll see to it that this matter concerning your daughter doesn’t blow out of proportion.”
These assuring words brought some comfort to Mr Gomez’s palpitating heart. He was worried that his daughter would receive ill-treatment but with these officers bringing her in, his mind was at ease. Mr Gomez tapped the officers’ shoulders and thanked them wholeheartedly. “Officers Gon, officer Mart, this means a lot to me. My daughter is over here. Please take good care of her.”
“Don’t worry, senator, we’ll handle it.” The officers spoke a few words with Selene. Amidst their conversation, she told them a summarized version of the actual events that took place yesterday. “We understand your situation. But we still have to take you to the station due to the ongoing investigation and vanity protocols. Please come with us.”
“Alright.” Selene went quietly outside with officer Mart and officer Gon to where they had parked their vehicle in the driveway. They didn’t cuff her butt with the Rump Imprisoner, moreover, they allowed her to bring the mini-suitcase she had received from Iyana. This went against the FPD’s vanity protocols. By right, Selene’s disrespectful rump should have been imprisoned in the most gruesome way possible. She was being handled with care because of her father’s connection with the FPD officers.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” Selene said one last goodbye to her parents before entering the passenger section of the police vehicle. [Vrm! Vrm!]
The officers reversed out of the driveway and set out on the main road. Their destination was the central precinct located in the downtown area of Upaya. Bay City was among one of the world’s larger countries situated in vast oceanic wetness with a number of inhabitants in the 50 million range. It possessed the form of roughly shaped buttocks that was split into 8 major sections. The left butt cheek had three main regions: Upaya, Cantaloupe, and Citrus. As for the right butt cheek, there were four major regions: Rambutan, Lime, Pine-melon and Kiwi. In the centre of these two butt cheeks was the capital of Bay City known as the Butthole or otherwise Sweet Cracker. Butthole was the smallest portion of Bay City’s regions, however, it was the central hub for all major corporation and functionality of the entire country.
[Vrm! Vrm!] While Selene was on her way to the police station, news of her apprehension had already been leaked to the various media outlets. A CN7 News crew was the first to swarm the central precinct when they received the shocking report. [Thud! Thud! Thud!]
“Good day viewers, I’m Dadra Gordon reporting for CN7 News. Thank you all for joining me today. Our news crew are currently broadcasting from Upaya’s central FPD precinct due to a tip we’ve received earlier this morning stating that the 22-year-old, Selene L. Gomez who was involved in yesterday’s major incident at the Ketsuga Burger Restaurant has apparently turned herself over to the authorities. We are currently waiting at the station’s entrance for the escort vehicle to arrive. We’re hoping to get a few comments in from the criminal suspect before she is brought inside the station for questioning.”
[Vrm! Vrm!] Shortly after the reporter Dadra Gordon had spoken, a suspicious squad car drove through the blockade of people and pulled over at the stations front entrance. [Screech!] This vehicle caught the attention of the surrounding swarm of inquisitive individuals.
“Is that it? Could that be the vehicle carrying the criminal? Let’s go take a look!” [Chep! Chep! Chep!] Many reporters along with inquisitive bystanders began making their way towards the squad car that just drove in.
From within the vehicle, Selene took notice of the throng of people crowding around outside and was veritably nervous. “Where did all these people come from? Is a celebrity making a public appearance?”
Officer Mark who was in the driver’s seat glanced back at Selene when he heard how startled she was. “Those people you see outside are mostly reporters. They must have rushed their way to the station when they found out about your arrest.”

“But how could they have known that I was going to turn myself in?” Selene wanted to know the reason behind this sudden intrusion.
“Naturally we contacted the station beforehand and informed them of your surrender.” Officer Gon answered. “Someone in the precinct must have tipped off the media. It can’t be helped now. I’ll escort you inside.” [Open!]
“Somebody came out! Move! Move! I want to get a closer look.” [Flash! Flash!] The vicious reporters weren’t subtle at all in their approach, especially when they saw officer Gon stepped out of the vehicle, moved towards the passenger’s side door and began opening it. He carefully helped Selene out of the vehicle and gave her mini-suitcase over to officer Mark to carry.
“Is that her? The unmannered lady who release her flatus in public? Hey, look over here! Face the camera!”
[Thud! Thud!] The moment Selene’s head became visible to the throng of reporters, cameras' lenses started flashing nonstop. [Flash! Flash! Flash!] The incessant glare caused both Selene and the two officers who were escorting her up the flight of stairs leading to the station’s entrance to slightly wince their eyes and covered their faces.
“Wait a moment, officers! I’m Dadra Gordon from CN7 News. Before you carry the suspect off into custody, mind if I asked her a few questions?”
“Sorry, we can’t allow that right now.” [Thud! Thud!] Officer Gon ignored the female reporter in red and continued walking ahead. He made sure to keep a firm grasp on Selene’s arm, preventing her from being easily dragged away by the vicious crowd.
“Please officers! Just one question.”
“Me first! Ms Gomez, what do you have to say for yourself? You caused a major uproar yesterday which almost resulted in the loss of several officers’ life. Did you know that they are injured officers battling for their life in Upaya’s Public Hospital as we speak?”
“Is it true that you’re with the Fahtier rebels? Do you also possess hybrid farts that can topple the balance of our society?”
“Do your parents know that you’ve been convicted? What are their thoughts on your current predicament?”
“Were you just acting out by breaking the law to garner the former senator’s attention?”
“Please! Leave us with a comment before you go! Ms Selene! Ms Selene!”
No matter how officers Mark and Gon tried their best to push through the unstable crowd without answering any of the many questions being tossed at them, the reporters still insisted on having their way. They weren’t prepared to leave unless they received at least one comment from Selene’s mouth.
“Please clear a path, people. You’re obstructing official police business.” Seeing the swarm of people hindering the officers advanced, more FPD troops poured out of the station to aid with their escort of the criminal. “You are all in the way. Move! Move!”
“Why are you being so courteous with these reporters?” At that moment, officer Hizen came out behind the FPD troops who were cordoning the entrance of the station and lashed his disrespectful tongue at the surrounding crowd. “All of you piss off and create some room for the criminal!” Immediately after officer Hizen spoke, a visible path opened up for officers Mark and Gon to advance with Selene.
[Thud! Thud!] Finally, Selene made it to the entrance of the precinct without being torn to bits by the swarm of reporters’ ludicrous enquiries. This didn’t mean that she was in any way relaxed though. If anything, she felt publicly violated for having her face circulating the news without her consent.
“Hurry up and get inside, Ms Gomez.” Officer Gon urged Selene to enter the station before the swarming reporters commenced a second wave of bombarding questions.
“Thank you both for escorting me.” Selene thanked the officers for their service and followed inside the station.
“That girl really handed herself over to the authorities.” On Liberal Vista, Pac was eating lunch with Babe at an outdoor restaurant when he noticed the live broadcast on a nearby TV showing Selene arriving at the station. “I hope she knows what she has gotten herself into. The Societal Gods don’t go easy on rebels who challenged their regimes.”
[Screech!] Babe got up from the table and tugged on Pac’s shoulder. “Hurry up and finish eating, we have a job to do.”
“Yeah, I’m right behind you.” Pac took one last glance at the monitor then abandoned his half-eaten burger and followed Babe.
