《I study magic, for destruction?》Chapter 23

I conjured several roses and had the petals peel off, forming a heart shape with my head in the middle. I blew a kiss, but was interrupted by a fireball that ignited my petals.
Leah snorted and followed up with a stream of fire, keeping me on the back foot. I could only sacrifice more petals. Trying to formulate a plan in the midst of keeping my hair from being singed.
“What happened to Leo?!” Leah yelled, keeping the stream coming.
I jumped into the air and held my palm down at her, focusing my mana into the middle.
“Haven’t we been through this before? What is with this persistent question, my dear?” I said with as much suave as possible.
The head of a flower sprouted in my palm and a beam of light fired down at the angered minx below. Leah rolled out the way and the beam hit the floor. The ground started to erode upon impact. Turning darker until green moss replaced the tile.
“Plant Reconstruction.” I uttered while shooting the same beam below where I was going to land. “Turning anything it touches into nature’s garden. It’s truly beautiful, don’t you agree?”
“Sorry, but I do not take to things that are unknown to me.” Leah grunted, rubbing her hands together and slammed them on the ground to conjure a flame whirlpool beneath me.
“Harden.” I stood with an arm behind my back and the most straightest of postures.
The flame spell that was supposed to conjure beneath me, erupted in the space where I shot my first beam. Leah turned in shock and tried again. The blaze of the fire grew more intense with each slam to the ground she did. Frustration washing over her face.
“Fine then, if that won’t work then I’m going to have to get close.” she wiped the beads of sweat running down her forehead and coated her arms into flames.

Oho?
I flicked to the left. From the burnt spot sprouted vines that covered the whirlpool. It spiraled to the side and towards where Leah stood. I wasn’t going to kill her of course, I would never be able to live with myself if I hurt that pretty face.
She stood still, facing towards the hurling tornado. Fists clenched with the fiery aura.
My grin started to lower.
“Hey love, if you don’t move, you really will attain a few scratches. I no longer have control of that thing, it’s not weak, but you should dodge it wi—”
Leah blasted flames down her sides and flew into the air. She held her fist towards the face of the whirlpool and got a direct hit. Her punch cut through the vines and she spread the fire to burn all of the vine coating.
“Now… it’s… your turn.” Leah uttered with exhaustment, looking down at me with droopy eyes from the sky.
Her limit? But, the Mana Desserts?
I conjured another Sakura petal and blew it towards where she was falling. The petal enlarged until it was big enough to hold the cute princess.
“It seems her body is not fit for the benefits of the desserts.” said the Lady, with interest in her voice.
“What do you mean?” I said, curling my finger for the petal holding Leah to float towards me.
“The quality and mana speed only increases. Meaning, you will only be able to cast quicker and stronger. However, her mana pool is either too small or her spells take up too much mana. Using the desserts recklessly can have adverse effects. I would say it wise for her to not consume any for extended combat.”
“Too much you say, hmm.” I clapped my hands together. “I always knew she was strong. This will work just fine.”

The God Complex
Alon wishes to be remembered—to stamp his existence on this cruel world, to engrave the fact that "he was here" into the very Earth. This is his sole purpose; To be important. For what greater reason is there to exist if not to be remembered? People are special. People aren’t... Your actions in this life define how those left behind remember you. Once you die, you’re reborn and live on, if only for a time; The grander the actions in this life, the longer your second one becomes. Alon knows this better than anyone, and he will live in the minds and hearts of everyone in Krestelen longer than anyone that has come before. Krestelen is a place long forgotten by those outside its walls; known by most as the Cursed City of The Dead, with the Lower Tier of the City being abandoned by the Upper Tiers after an inexplicable Fog blanketed the entire sector thirty-four years ago. This Fog adds those unfortunate enough to be caught within it into the legions of Vacant roaming the empty streets of the city: A creature that has seemingly lost all reasoning and sanity, to wander around the streets crying into the palms of their hands as they beg for help, to be freed from their condition. This is the place that Alon, and the Gang led by his mentor Casian, shall steal the very source of what gives those in power—the rightfully ruling family, the Deramore's—their ability to live in luxury as those below in the Lower Tier struggles to survive. They will forever be cast into the annals of the history of this cursed place—for better, or for worse.
