《You and I, me and you》Extra - Valentines

“Sorry hun…”
I lied on the bed curled up in pain.
“It’s ok, we can still go next year. Just relax.”
With a kiss on the forehead, he pulled me into his arms while I settled on his chest to smell his familiar scent.
The pain I felt every month was unbearable and I hated the fact that I cannot even go out to dinner for Valentine's.
He kept on patting my head and for a couple of minutes until I eventually passed out in pain.

I don’t know how long I was asleep but when I opened my eyes, it was already dusk. The room was dark, the house was quiet and the warm human pillow I was hugging before is now gone.
“Hun?”
Still in pain, I slowly marched to the bedroom door. As soon as the door opened, dim lights shone through the gap and there I found my husband humming while setting the table.
A candle-lit dinner table was set up perfectly with roses. Then he ran to the kitchen to remove the meat on a cast iron pan.
“Hehe, you’re awake. Good morning!”
After setting the pan down. He ran to me with his designated apron with oven mitts and hugged me. I could smell the faint rosemary and garlic on him.
Maybe because I’m on my period or because I’ve been busy as heck these past few months or because that he went excavating for a month and haven’t seen him until yesterday but tears soon fell from my eyes. The pain also didn’t help so I ended up wailing.
“Wah, why are you crying?!”
Panicked, he hugged me tighter and patted my back.
“Were you sad because you woke up alone? I’m sorry… I selfishly wanted to have dinner with you so I started cooking.”

“*sniff* ...no…”
I looked up and gave him a peck on his lips.
“...I’m happy… thank you!”
That night, I ate my fill of his cooking. Then fell asleep warm on his embrace.

“Mom, are you okay?”
Peeking from my bedroom door was a white head with ruby-red eyes.
“...I’m fine dear, just in a bit of pain but I’ll be fine tomorrow, don’t worry.”
I smiled wryly from my bed bundled up in my blanket. Even though I was technically reconstructed by Silvio, couldn’t he have removed this monthly agonizing pain?!
Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if he based my reconstructed body from my old one.
“You see, mom…”
He fidgeted as he opened and entered the door.
“Uncle elf came this morning, and we umm… we made dinner…”
“Uncle elf…? Ah, you mean Gael?”
He nodded bashfully and trotted smiling towards me.
“Are you feeling okay, mom? Want to have dinner?”
As he leaned on the bed to look at me, I could smell the scent of seared pork chops, rosemary and garlic. It made me remember the dream I had earlier.
“It’s the same…”
“The same? Can you stand?”
From the door, a red fluffy hair that curls upwards entered. In his face sat two bright green eyes resembling the trees in spring.
“Gael… yeah, I can stand. Gimme a sec.”
Lex smiled happily and pulled the blankets off me. Even as short as he was, he tried to support me and we walked to the dinner table with Gael.
The dinner table felt nostalgic. Although without the candle lights, the dining table set for three made my eyes water.
“Mom, I helped Uncle elf with dinner! He also taught me how to make a cake with magic!”
“Yes, it may sound like a waste of time for most mages, but if he practices with something he likes, this way of cake-making will help him control his magic better.”
The dinner was sublime. I even forgot the pain with how much the two told stories of how they hang out.
...maybe it would feel like this if he was still with me and we had a son like Lex…?

8 179Absolute Power
A story about a teenager named Aarav trying to find his place in the world, while trying to make it a better place to live. NOTE: Please remember the word 'TRYING'. Guys I have edited the prologue and uploaded it after I uploaded the fourth chapter. Although the story hasn't changed much, I have tried to make it flow smoother. Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.

8 231Tale of the Bloodstained Hero
To succeed is to forge a path of your own, liberated by your own hand to combat fate in a way that you decide. To fail is to walk the corpse-riddled road of the Bloodstained Hero, tethered by a fate you cannot control, and doomed to walk it forever alone. After managing to stumble his way into a fantastical new world, twenty two year old Cyr is almost immediately tricked into an alleyway and jumped by a brutish thug out for his head. Bloodied, beaten and near death, Cyr is saved by a strange power that temporarily allows him to copy his opponent's fighting style. After leaving to join an affluent mercenary group known as the Adventurers Guild, he is soon contacted by a mysterious figure that sheds light on his eventual destiny of warring with an enemy of overwhelming, near godly power. Follow Cyr's adventure in his rise to Herohood for the Seynith Dynasty all while slowly uncovering a plot with roots spread deeper than ever thought possible. It doesn't take long for him to realize just how brutal and unforgiving this new world can truly be. This is an edited version of the original, which is where new chapters will be found. The unedited release can still be found on my page, but it will no longer be updated.
8 147To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
8 239Coalescence of Two Lifetimes
Cilen was you typical, run-of-the-mill kinda guy. Well, until his parents passed away when he was 17 forcing him to learn to grow up. Fast. He figured it wouldn't be that bad. He had a house, he had an inheritance, he had friends that kept him company. And at first, it really wasn't anything But sometimes, the loneliness just gets to you. Sometimes, the expectation to not disappoint just gets to you. Sometimes, life just gets to you. And it brought Cilen to his knees, lamenting, cursing, questioning, "why?" "Why did his parents pass away as they did, forcing him to fend for his own?" "Why wasn't he born in a rich household, with a silver spoon in his mouth that catered to his every need?" "Why was every step forwards so difficult, in this accursed society?" He wished that everything would be easy, like inside the worlds of the wuxia novels that he had grown up reading. Special constitution, lucky breaks, fast powerup, get all the chicks and defeat the big evil guy. Simple, easy, satisfying. But life ain't cut out to be that way. The main actors were already set, and there was no changing them. Unless, you moved to a different stage... But this ain't one of your friendly neighborhood transmigrations. It rewards those that are patient, creative and willing to adapt. But perhaps Cilen is able to make use of this opportunity and become something more. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ This story is a personal love letter to all the pieces of fiction that I have read. Its a culmination of the things that made me laugh, cry and smile when I first read them and It has been a personal wish to craft a story that makes me feel the way I did when reading those stories for the first time. Its gonna be a slow ride but worth it. Promise. Photo by Johannes Plenio on Unsplash
