《The Magi Magic Games》Ch.1 Wake Up!

“Master, it’s time to wake up! You can’t afford to be late for the opening ceremony.” A voice yelled in my ear.

I opened my eyes to see the floating body of a girl staring at me. No, I’m not joking. There was a floating body above me. Normally, people would’ve yelled ghost and ran off but, I’m not your average normal person, far from it. I’m a Prophet, a person who can use Mana in the form of Magic. That floating girl is in fact, a result of Magic. My father was a person who could you spiritual Magic. So he created Tangela, that spirit floating above me as a personal servant of sorts for my 12th birthday. Although, we’ve been more buddies, than master and servant. I threw her a pillow and went back to sleep.

“Five more minutes.”

The pillow smacked her right in the face. Taking it in her hands, she placed it on the ground and pulled off the blankets of my bed.

“Master get up now!”

“Fine fine, jeez I was joking. Also, please stop calling me master. Tangela we’ve been over this a million times.”

“Very well Ma- Elenore. I’ll be downstairs making you your breakfast in the kitchen. Please get ready for school in the meantime.” She then vanished through the floor of my room.

I dragged my half-asleep self to my wardrobe to get changed. I put on my new school uniform: White jeans and a white shirt. I took all the remaining uniforms and shoved them in a suitcase. I looked myself in the mirror and gave a smile. My name is Elenore Magnus, I’m currently 17 years old and this is going to be my first year at my new school: Golden Sierra Mana academy. Like I said before, I’m a Prophet, someone who can use Magic because of the Stigma in our bodies, a mutated D.N.A strand that allows Prophets like me to wield Mana in the form of Magic. There are a lot of different types of magic users, ranging from conjurers to necromancers to elementals to enchanters and more! Personally, I’m a Chaoser, which is kind of a rare honor. These types of magic users are quite rare and extremely powerful. Unlike ordinary Prophets, Chaosers, can draw their magic from the Chaos Essence, which basically makes up the entirety of the universe. This allows me to use magic from other arts, some I’m a jack of all trades type of girl. Anyway, I stared into the mirror, straightening my uniform, brushing my ash gray hair to get rid of the knots, due to my sleep. My golden eyes still had some sleep induced fog in them, making me miss the comforts of my bed, but they started to sparkle. I finished up, picked up my suitcase and gave my room one last look. I wouldn’t sleep in here for three years.

As I was walking down the stairs, the sweet, sweet smell of pancakes and bacon hit me like a bullet. I rushed down the last couple of stairs, dashing into the kitchen, where Tangela had just finished placing the food on the table. As we sat down, we silently glared at each other, then our plates, then each other. It was on! We always did this in the morning, seeing who could finish their plate first. As soon as the oven beeped, she and I started to eat like animals. At first, it was shocking to find out that spirits can still eat even though they’re, you know, dead. Since I found that out when I was 12, we’ve always had these eating contests. I took my last bite, slamming my fork onto the plate, pumping my fists into the air.

“I did it! I won!” I yelled with a mouthful of food still lodged in my mouth.

Tangela was finishing her last bite and immediately pouted.

“I can’t believe I lost! I gave you extra food and everything so I could win!”

“You even cheated? Cheating won’t make you win Tan.”

She simply giggled. “Well, I learn from you Elenore.”

She wasn’t wrong. In the past, when I was younger I had the habit of cheating in contests since Tan would normally win the majority of them.

“So you’ll be accompanying and staying with me when I’m at school Tan?” I asked while placing the dishes in the dishwasher.

“You know it! But don’t expect me to help you cheat on exams.”

“I know that.”

When all was done, we went outside the house. We stared at it for a while, remembering the warm memories we shared.

“Goodbye mom, goodbye dad, I’ll make you guys proud.”

And I left.
