《Monster? So be it,》Chapter 10

I felt the air above me twist in place as I ducked tododge the demon's incoming limb, I grabbed a hand that looked to normal to belong to this grotesque creature; I felt a sliver of it's Life-Force enter my being before I had to back off as I pushed my heel on the ground to get out of dodge. The limb that came my way hammered the now empty ground.
The place that I was standing in before had a deep dent, and a bony yet featureless limb was still imbedded deep in it- looking at what might've happened really got me thinking: it's during times like that where I actually appreciated the fact that I'm a digitigrade.
With a new sense of danger; I brandished my spear, the fire had gone out the moment the two Javelins actually pierced it's skin, it did damage, but it was barely noticeable. "Should have gotten a blister near those wounds right about now."
Still, atleast it wasn't a demon from hell that actually thrives in fire- one of the, if not the only thing that I can actually use as a weapon against pure juggernauts like this one. Maybe the poison from the newts would've been useful, but I'll see as to whether or not that's true in the near future.
"But, what's done is done and I currently don't have any of those at my disposal. Alcohol or anything flammable would have been useful though." I cursed as I dodged another hit. Then the demon prepared for another one, the only opening to it's otherwise offensive defense. And I'm pretty sure if this thing's arm isn't so stiff, I would've had even more trouble than I do now.
Thank god that the demon is only able to use it as a sledgehammer. Because if he used it as a regular hand, including pummeling and punching me; then even the entire goblin village behind me wouldn't be enough to kill this thing.
And it's exactly for that reason that whenever he prepares throw another hit, I can easily leap to his side and attempt to thrust my spear into one of it's head- like what I'm doing...
Now.
As expected from the way too bloated head; the skin had thinned out, to the point that the goblin's naturally strong hide became too weak and nigh non-existent when it came down to receiving damage- the skin immediately got torn open as the tip of my spear touched it, blood and puss rushed out of the wound, but the demon didn't care and simply continued to relentlessly attack.
Dodging another hit; I continued to back off until I was a safe 2 meters away from the thing.
Unfornunately, staying away from the battle proved to be quite the problem, as my adrenaline - the very reason as to why I didn't even consider it in the first place - started to die down and I felt ragged panths come out with each breath. I was getting tired, but the demon itself seemed to not fare any better.
I hoped so atleast. I could feel it, but I wasn't able to see it's Life-Force, strangely enough. Still, if that gill wounded fish said anything about draining this energy, then making someone bleed is the best way to cap it out.
The bleeding didn't stop the demon from raising it's arm and clumsily making it's way towards me though.
With a deep breath- I took out a Javelin, pulled my arm back, then I locked my gaze at the creature's knee; giving it all I got, I pushed my arm arm forward and threw the Javelin towards my intended target.

As the weapon flew, I grabbed the spear I plunged deep in the ground and ran.
I bent my knee and leapt as I dodged another attack; The resulting slam from the demon caused a miniature quake, making me fall off balance as I landed on my toes.
The little time-frame that occured as I tried to stand back up was enough for the demon to pull his limb off the ground and run to where I was- before batting me square in the chest.
Both of us were once again seperated by another 10 meters, this time around though, I was coughing up blood instead of noticing my fatigue.
The demon repeated it's actions the first time round and once again made a beeline straight to me.
...
The Javelin stuck to the demon's knee did nothing to slow it down, and it's unfeeling frame simply kept on going without being hindered by the pain that would cripple most living organisms.
But the demon wasn't an organism, nor was it living. It is an unnatural creature born from life force that still wanted to live, it no longer belonged on this world; and it no longer needed to follow the laws that had once ruled over it's living body when the demon has gotten itself in this purgatorial state.
The demon ran and ran with it's un-ending stamina, completely ignoring the blood that ran down it's faces,
Seeing this, Faux coughed a mouthful of blood as his muscles started to compress and harden, a strain to be sure; but the skill needed to be kept up if he wants to stand.
The reptile grabbed another Javelin from his back, he pulled back his arm as he jumped back, trying to keep the distance between him and his assailant.
But.
The demon stopped, plucked all of the Javelins all over his body, and bent down.
Then...
It leapt,
And landed- shattering all of the bones within his legs in the process. And! with a sudden burst of speed- the demon made a dash straight to the reptile, the distance between them shortened as the demon continued to run, it ran,
And ran,
And soon, it caught up- the sound of breaking suddenly resonated within his stiff arm, the tough bones that held it place broke apart, and the muscles that kept it together ripped, and it continued to do so once the demon pulled his arm back; in preparation for a jab.
The punch hit, and the reptillian flew off into the distance.
The demon had a gleeful grin spread across his face, the thrill within his eyes increased as he looked at his broken body, and then-
he...
Walked. Slowly but surely, the sadism within his eyes increased with each step; and the claws on all of his hands lengthened.
The demon was sure to win, why not have fun while at it? Would be the thoughts of his collective conciousnesses. Together, they are strong, it did not matter if their body was broken, for their Life-Force would simply heal it. There's more than enough to go around after all.
His grin turned demented as his arm crackled, painfully healing itself; the muscles got stitched together, loose, but stitched. And the bones, the bones- they grew tumurous, the cancer present within them created spikes that pierced the regenerating tissue, they hindered the growth, but made the foundation stronger.
The demon got closer, and he smiled.
But, he did forget one thing, and that's the fact that his enemy was a demon as well.
The Death God at the back of Faux's mind took over and they switched places, the entity was now at the steering wheel, and a smile dawned upon the reptillian's face.

The God was glad, it had been so long since he felt the pain's of being a mortal afterall.
With a thought; the Life-Force that was present all over their body surged, the vigorous energy that was present on the reptile's limbs decreased as they made their way towards the wounds.
Scales that had been imbedded deep into their skin fell off as the flesh healed. Then, more and more Life-Force went missing all over their body, all being distributed to their body's damage.
It took less than a second to fully heal the vessel, and the Death God stood up. The Life-Force within him constantly moving, almost emptying themselves from one part of the body as they all compressed and collected on the parts that weren't wounded, but the one's that required support.
And so, the reptile's untiring legs got even more energetic, the limbs were filled with so much energy that the Death God wanted to kick them around. Though, he did resist the urge. Instead, he expended the unbalanced energy by running-
-straight for the walking demon.
Once he was 4 feet away from the thing, the God bent his knees downward; he crouched, causing him to slid across the ground- causing small canyons to form on the ground as he did.
Then, he released all of the tension on his legs and he jumped.
The Life-Force within his vessel shifted once again, at his arms and tail this time around- the little energy he gave to his tail guided him as he spun through the air, whilst the remaining and most of the energy that moved inside his arms blackened and elongated his claws.
Faux's thatch armor decayed and wilted as the Pastrues' unique weapon pierced and torn it apart; the little Life-Force within the plant fiber joined the one's within his claws, causing them to darken further.
Then, it was the scale's turn- their lustrous blue hue got lost as their shimmer faded, what was left once the claws did their job was a white, weakened enamel that resembled their beautiful shape.
With his claws absorbing the light all around them, the Death God moved his tail to resist the air; making him stop midway through his jump and fall to the ground feet first.
Then, giving a little bit of energy to his legs- the Reptile made a dash straight for the demon fearlessly.
The scales had tipped, and this time around; the weight was on his favor.
He slid across the ground as another jab attempted to connect.
with his body moving slithering across the ground- the death god used the momentum to effortlessly scratch the arm above him; his blackened claws attacked and tore through the bony limb as if it were butter, absorbing Life-Force as it did.
And for the first time ever since it was born anew, the demon wailed in pain.
And as it did, the reptile stopped moving, the momentum from it's slide had finally been caught by friction- but that wouldn't stop him. Of course not,
With a fully revitalized body, the God bent his vessel's arms and proceeding to push himself up. Then, he repeated the motion again, this time, with the intention to jump off the ground with his arms alone-
-and he did, the reptile successfully passed through the demon's legs. And the God didn't forget to slash the two Achilles heels openly presented to him on his way out.
Sensing the damage, the demon fell down to his knees with a grunt, his assailant stood up from behind him; then, he felt his kin's claws mutilate his back- his skin got peeled off along with the bone and muscles beneath.
"I have never liked spears, but whips? Ohhhh... I love them." A hoarse voice behind him said, the sound entered the demon's ears and into his head, and like a broken record- it echoed there, over and over.
A cracking sound that only belonged to a whiplash resonated behind him, prompting the demon to look; and there he saw his very own flesh moving like worms! Squirming as they slithered across a small tether made of sinews. And with more muscles mass getting added, the thin yet fine line grew and grew! Then bones from the ground around them soon stuck to the whip as it moved and coiled, slithering across the ground as it did.
Then the bones sharpened and turned into serrated blades that protuded all around the weapon's snake like body, and soon, the final piece got added: a sternum that belonged to the spear beside the reptile got placed at the whip's very tip- the beautiful, glamorous star that completed the fleshy christmas tree.
With a simple move from his arm- the reptile cracked his newly formed whip. The demon shivered but that wasn't the end if it, the God added energy into the weapon, causing it's ornaments- in the form of serrated blades,- to glow.
Another whiplash came, and this time- it was targeted towards the kneeling demon, the pointed tip gave him a small cut, but the worst has yet to come; the resulting shockwave from the breaking of the sound barrier didn't spread out around him. By the gods no,
The shockwave had a starting point, a place where it originated-
-and unfortunately for the demon, that point of origin was the tip of the blade currently embedded deep into his flesh...
... the shockwave came into existence-
- and what was supposed to be a small cut: became a wide, fleshy crater on the demon's body.
The Life-Force that had kept them together left, a conciousness within them was lost and the demon felt anger, but he couldn't do anything, he had been cripped, and all he can do is simply kneel and await for their demise.
And their demise came; fatty acids sweat through the whip, and when the weapon came into contact with flames- it got set alight.
With the whip practically blazing, the Reptile gave it more Life-Force; the flames grew green, and a pitiful gaze soon made it's way to the vessel's eyes.
The God of Death gave one last whiplash with the shockwave resulting into a ball of flame that swallowed the demon's 8 foot body whole,
The fire immediately died down, and what was left of the once hulking beast was nothing but ashes, perhaps a sliver of Life-Force that still wanted to remain, but the God gave it no chance and took it- putting it back in the cycle.
Then, once the battle was done, the whip got absorbed by the reptillian body: adding more Life-Force to the already maxed out capacity.
The whip became the vessel's own flesh and bone, assimilating with it and adding more mass, more places to store Life-Force in.
Once the process was done, the vessel reached a staggering height of seven foot. Then, the God of Death gave the steering wheel back to the man who had been watching in his place.
"Ok, what the fuck?" Faux said in disbelief, or perhaps the serial killer now believed that he and a God had become a demon together?
