《The True Jack of all Trades》Cause and Effect

Dean went back to his home and began to set up a shop, a different type of shop. Although he wasn’t going to be open anytime soon, Dean needed to prepare. He realized what he could do as a jack of all trades. The first stop Dean was going to was the library. Dean thought it would be a good idea to finally put his photographic memory to some use. Dean walked down the street and saw the town of Edgewalker at its fullest. Although the town was quiet, people still covered the stone streets like ants surrounding a piece of food that was dropped on the ground.
Dean walked towards the library and walked inside. The library smelled like books, as it should. Dean walked throughout the library in search of books he could use as a reference for learning new abilities. He grabbed a couple of books he thought he needed and flipped through the pages, using his memory to take snapshots of the pages. Dean left the library with the knowledge and set off back to his house
Dean walked for a couple of minutes before he saw something that caught his eye, it was Walter. Dean saw Walter on his knees in front of some girl. Dean hid behind a corner and eavesdropped on the conversation. The first step of his plan was right in front of his eyes, he couldn’t lose this chance.
“I’m sorry!” Walter cried, “I’ll get the drugs to you by tomorrow.”
“You better!” The girl that Walter was talking to was sitting on top of a car, holding a baseball bat. She had pale blue hair that fell to her shoulders and was wearing a school uniform. Getting tired of hearing the conversation Dean changed his outfit and put on a mask as he walked into the alleyway. Dean formed a handgun and a suppressor in his hands. As Dean was walking down the alley, Dean twisted the suppressor on the gun for dramatic effect. The girl’s head perked up when Dean entered the alley. “Who’re you?!?” she yelled. Dean stayed silent as he kept walking towards the group of kids. The girl hopped off of the car she was sitting on and started to walk towards Dean. She stopped in front of him and pointed at him with the bat. “What is your business?” she asked.

“None of your business,” Dean said. He walked past the girl and straight towards Walter. Seeing what was happening, Walter tried to run away, but not before Dean pointed his gun at Walter and shot both of his kneecaps. Walter instantly collapsed to the floor, crying out in pain. Dean slowly made his way to Walter before he pointed his gun at him again and sent some lead straight through Walter’s skull. Blood splattered on the concrete floor as Walter fell lifeless, on the ground.
Dean turned around to see the girl in complete amazement at what Dean just did. “Are you from the HQ?” she asked. Dean saw her slightly tilt her neck, revealing a tattoo; the same tattoo the people who killed him had.
“No,” Dean responded, “I need some answers from you.” Dean made some knuckle dusters and slowly walked towards the girl. He grabbed her by the collar and asked her a question. “What gang are you a part of?”
“Go to hell jackass!” the girl yelled. Dean smiled and punched the girl in the stomach with all of his force. He let go of the girl who crumbled to the ground in pain. “Will you answer my question now?” Dean asked.
“Equinox.”
“That’s your gang’s name? I could’ve come up with something better.” The other gang members that were in the alley were making their way towards Dean, hell-bent on attacking him. Dean picked up the girl and put a knife to her neck.
“I have some more questions. Will you answer them?” Dean asked.
The girl nodded her head vigorously. “Good. Now, what is the main thing your gang does and how big are they?”
“Equinix is very big, t-they usually sell drugs for money and have a lot of influence.”
“I need you to now write the officers’ names on this paper.” Dean dropped the girl and handed her a paper and a pencil. The girl scribbled the names onto the paper and handed it back to Dean.
“Thank you!” Dean walked out of the alley, disappearing around the corner.

Dean changed out of his clothes when he arrived home and climbed the stairs to his room. He smiled at the hard work Nancy had done cleaning the house; she made it look brand new. Dean walked over to a desk in the corner of his room and took a seat. This was it, he was going to run through the snapshots in his head and learn how to do more things. First, Dean went through the enchantment book.

Enchantment is a fairly easy concept to comprehend. It is the application of AMC to items and weapons to apply magical properties, enhancing the item or weapon. The first step, of course, was to make the mana circuits. Dean flipped through the pages in his head and tried to make the AMC. The process consisted of flowing mana out of your fingertips into some sort of item of choosing. The flowing mana will then attach itself to the item and form circuits that will allow spells to be applied to the item in question. Dean, following the steps, attempted to apply mana to a piece of cloth. At first, Dean had trouble trying to apply his mana to the cloth, but eventually, after an hour, Dean succeeded and made the enchanted item. “Fuck yeah!” Dean yelled, “It works!”
“What are you screaming about?” Nancy asked as she was coming up the stairs.
“Look at what I made!” Dean lifted the piece of fabric, and Nancy clapped her hands in applause. “Congratulations Boss, you made an enchanted item.”
Dean then put the fabric on the table and began to weave mana with his fingertips. The fabric began to glow and let out a pleasant smell. The glow subsided and Dean picked up the fabric.
“Boss,” Nancy said, “What did you do?”
“I made an air freshener!” Nancy wafted in the smell and was surprised by the sudden smell of roses. “What a splendid creation, Boss.”
“Now,” Dean said, “I’m going to go through the other books.”

[Later That Night, Somewhere in the Grimm Empire]
Atop a hill stood a large castle that seemed to be made of mysterious material. On the outside, it looked to be abandoned, but the inside of the castle was filled with life. The person that was inhabiting this castle was going through a rough time, spending her days in war and bloodshed. After a day of stress and war, the woman decided to take a bath. The bath was about the size of a pool, filled to the top with hot water that fogged up the room. The woman was sitting by the edge of the water, sipping on wine as she delved into her thoughts. The woman was tall, around 6 feet tall. She had long blonde hair and crimson eyes that pierced the soul of whoever looked at them. Her body was riddled with scars that no ordinary woman might have. Her face was the only place that didn’t have scars, a ruler has to keep an impressionable face right?
*KNOCK KNOCK*
A knock directed the woman’s attention to the door to the bath. “Come in,” she said.
A butler walked into the room and bowed. “My liege,” he said, “I have some news.”
The woman took a sip of her wine. “Continue.”
“It seems the wolves that were giving us trouble have been completely eradicated.”
The woman raised her eyebrow, “Do you know who did it?”
The butler nodded his head, “Yes ma’am, it seems to be a girl of the age 16 named Blanchette.”
“Is there anything else?”
“There was a man there as well.”
“A man?”
“Yes, he seems to be new to the area, but he instigated the fight between Blanchette and the wolves. It seems he knew the wolves were there before,”
“Interesting, is there anything else?”
“It seems Charming is launching an attack on Edgewalker.”
The woman crushed the wine glass in her hands and stood up. “When is he going to be there?”
“The march will begin in the early morning.”
The woman put on a robe and stomped out of the bath. “Let us give him a surprise."

Home of Laplace
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar mountain peak standing tall above me like seeing a skyscraper from the street. Soon the chilling burn of the snow that covered me began to invade my senses and I flung my torso upward, sitting up straight. I grabbed my head in confusion as my eyes surveyed the area around me: The corner of a mountain wall stood menacingly in front of me accompanied by thin, dangerous looking paths on either side. The likes of which only adrenaline-seeking psychopaths would use. I turned my head backwards and felt my heart drop as what looked like an infinitely long freefall met my gaze. I was sitting on the ledge of a snow-covered mountain. "CRKKKK" A heart-shaking croaking sounded from above me further up the mountain and I jolted backwards at the impossibly loud sound. 'Shit, wasn't there nothing behind me?' The sound of cracking stone accompanied the heart dropping sensation of descension. As I plunged down backwards, the last thing I saw was the deep-set brown eyes of that blue-skinned monstrosity further up the mountain. ----------------------------------------------------- Levi Laplace is a former genius biochemistry student that died a simple and laughable death on earth.
