《Svails: Chains of Nebulas》Chapter 1: Siyo Amano

The sky is cloudy giving off a gloomy feeling all around and suddenly a loud buzz is heard spanning all across a bedroom. Siyo gets up from her bed in a flash, startled by the alarm and in the process bumps her head. Glancing at her calender she realizes the date is that of the day she will take her entrance exam into the Svail Hunters for the city of Ryke.
"Oh my god! How stupid can I get?! I need to get ready now!"
Siyo jumps out of her bed and quickly rushes to her closet and slides the door open quickly. Reaching into the closet she pulls out a big black coat with a hoodie on the back and two pockets on the front of it. The coat also has zippers for both the pockets and a zipper right down the middle, the coat's length spans Siyo's entire body going down to as far as her heels. Putting the coat on Siyo proceeds to grab a hair band from her desk and ties her hair into a pony tail as a loud knock is heard from her bedroom door.
"Siyo! Don't tell me you're running late? I can't rely on you for anything can I?"
"N-No! Are you kidding? I would never be running late on a day like today! I will be right out Migro!"
Quickly realizing that the person at the door was her best friend Migro who had come to get her, Siyo rushes to get cleaned up so she could leave for the exam. Telling herself she would rather be on time to the exam she decides to not spend to much time getting herself cleaned up and rushes to the door to great Migro and leave with him. Opening the door, Siyo sees Migro standing there with his short dark red hair and brown eyes looking back at her with a surprised expression.

"I knew it! So you weren't ready at all, you totally just got out of bed!"
"I don't know what you're talking about! Good morning Migro, so you excited?!"
"Of course I am, I just don't want to be seen with someone as unkept looking as you this morning"
Siyo slaps Migro for his words as he thinks to himself how Siyo looks unbelievably pretty this morning with her bright green eyes and wide smile. Migro fiddles with his fingers in the pockets of his gray and white school uniform trying to keep himself from blushing infront of Siyo. As Siyo begins to close the door she stops and tells Migro that she forgot something, coming back out of the room with a red and black sword sheathe and proceeds to attach it to her waist.
"I almost forgot this, though I probably wont need to use it during the exam, it's just... Kinda a keepsake"
"Well then you ready to go Siyo?"
"You bet! Let's hurry we are already running late, Tohka is gonna kill me"
Siyo locks her door and the two proceed to sprint down the hallway and outside the building. As the two proceed outside they look around to see all the wrecked and half broken buildings around them, and the poorly dressed people trying to keep warm around small fires. Migro stares for a long time with a look of saddness as Siyo grabs his shoulder.
"There is only one thing we can do to help this people right now, and you know it."
"I know, it's just... It didn't have to be this way. I'm gonna make things right for this city, I swear it!"
"I'm joining to show these people that I am no different than my mother! I am glad to have you by my side Migro."

"You will be just as strong I know it! I know Jade is alive and I will do everything I can to help you find her once we are svail hunters"
The two sprint down the street towards the Svail hunter base at the center of the City of Ryke. Arriving a big gate which seems to be wired with electricity, the two notice two armored guards with swords out and guns on both their waist's. As they start a conversation with the guards to pass the gate a young girl comes rushing out from the other side. Her long bright blue hair flows in the wind behind her as she sprints pass both the guards as well as both Siyo and Migro.
"What was that about?"
"I don't know, she looked a little young I hope she is okay"
"Let's just get back to what we were doing"
"State your buisness! This gate leads to the hunter base of Ryke! Are you participants in it's exams?"
"Yes! My name is Siyo Amano, age 16, here is my citizens badge"
"My name is Migro Sulth, also age 16"
The guards check and verify both of their information and allows Siyo and Migro to pass to the other side of the gate and into the Svail Hunters base. Upon passing the gate the two lay eyes upon a huge building unlike that of the broken destroyed ones outside. Siyo immediatly recognizes it as the Svail Hunters base of the city of Ryke. The two are quickly approached by a tall woman with bright white hair and glaring yellow eyes, she wears a big white coat and black boots.
"Siyo! Nice to see you made it, you're all grown up now I see"
"Angel! I'm glad you're here, you gonna watch my exam today? I'm so excited I can't contain it."
"You kidding girl? Of course!"
"So who's the two behind ya?"
"Oh? I was sure you remembered Yui and Ren? You know? My two teammates?!
"Oh my god! I can't believe I didn't recognize you guys! I havn't seen you in ages"
Suddenly a beep sound comes from Angels wrist as she states that she has to get going. Angel and her teammates bid Siyo and Migro farewell and wish them good luck. The two proceed into the building and down a bright hallway with a marble floor. the pair eventually reach a big room full of people swinging wooden swords at a large amount of practice dummies. A girl with long brown hair steps infront of the two and puts her hands on both their shoudlers.
"Welcome to the Ryke Svail Hunter base you two!"
"Tohka!"

The Blight
Ten years ago, the Blight appeared. A beautiful forest, where the leaves and animals glowed brilliantly at night. It became a wonder of the entire world, and people began venturing from across the continent to visit it. No one took it any more seriously than that, not in the beginning. Then the disappearances started. At first, it was just farm animals and pets. Then, hunters and travelers close to dusk. By the time children started disappearing from villages, it was too late to do anything. The Blight was spreading, from tree to tree like a sickness, crawling out in all directions. The animals and beasts inside it changed as well. They grew larger, stronger, and more ferocious than anything seen before. Simple farm animals became horrific monsters, distorted to disgusting proportions and violently spreading chaos out from the forest. When the first reports came in of infected animals dragging people alive off into the forest... then the real panic began. Towns fell to the Blight, then cities. Armies were sent to push it back, and were overrun. Heroes and legends ventured out, to no avail. Soon, it was public knowledge to all: Those who entered the forest, never returned. ...So what happens when a young boy comes out of the forest, carrying nothing but a dagger and remembering nothing but his own name?
