《Riches of the Heavenly Kingdom (A Grant Foreman Adventure)》Chapter 4: The F Team

The only frozen yogurt shop near the Trioli University campus was a place called Bowls of Health. The shop sold overpriced frozen yogurt and justified the costs by advertising their yogurts as organic and packed full of all sorts of essential nutrients.
The day after making the deal with Makenna, Grant took Tim out to eat frozen yogurt.
"Whats good hear?" grant asked the lady behind the counter.
"Honestly I love all the flavors," she said cheerfully, adjusting her glasses. "But my personal favorite is the Super Berry Detox. I would also recommend getting the granola and vitamin power jam toppings."
Grant looked up at the menu to see that the cost of granola and power jam toppings combined would come out at five dollars alone.
"I'll just have the yogurt," said Grant. "Make that a small."
"Eight dollars please," said the girl with glasses.
Once Grant and Tim had gotten their yogurt cups, they sat at a table by the window.
"Scoot your chair back a little further," said Tim. "I don't want us thinking that we're a couple."
"I don't think people think that way," said Grant, shooting him a look of confusion.
"Cmon," said Tim, leaning in. "Most people who come here are girls who wanna lose weight or feel like their eating healthy. Two good looking guys like us enjoying cute cups of yogurt on a weekend?"
"Ok well when you put it like that it makes me feel uncomfortable," said Grant putting his hands up. "Though personally I have nothing against the gays even if that isn't my thing."
"Anyways, what did you want to talk about?" said Tim. "I didn't think we'd go out for yogurt so soon. Not that I'm complaining."

"I need people to go on an archaeological expedition with me," said Grant, getting straight to the point. "It's for a....history class project thing."
"Why ask me?"
"Cause I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Yogurt hangout I promised and you seem like a guy who can handle himself.
"Sorry I have a packed rest of the year," said Tim. "But if your looking for muscle I have just the guy."
"Does he go to our school?"
"Nah but he lives in the neighborhood. Name is Rourke. He dropped out his freshman year. He makes a living working at this mixed martial arts gym. Rourke's probably the best fighter I've ever seen. As a matter of fact he lived for it. He picked fights in the ring at the gym and on the streets. He told me he's had over 200 fights. Won most of them too."
"Sounds perfect," said Grant. "Tell him that where we are going, he will have a chance to prove just how powerful of a man he can be."
"That's all he will need to hear bro," said Tim, digging into his yogurt. "Sorry I couldn't come."
"It's no problem," said Grant, sampling his own yogurt. "Hey this is pretty good."
"I've had better but it's up there in my top fives I would say," said Tim scooping up some more. "By the way I hope Abigail hasn't been bothering you."
Grant set down his yogurt and sighed. "I gotta me honest with you. I did hook up with her right after you left the library restroom that day."
"Get out," said Tim. "Wow she must have really had the hots for you."
"She's was sensible enough to understand it wouldn't have worked out between us though," said Grant. "I didn't give her my number. Probably won't be seeing her anytime soon. But hey knowing her. She'll move on and find some guy that will fit her like a glove."

"Well I've moved on to," said Tim, smiling. "There's this girl in my math class. Real smart girl. We work together on classwork all the time. I never realized how pretty she was until now."
"Good for you," said Grant. "I'm happy for you really."
"Thanks but what about you? Guy like you must have had a lot of girlfriends in the past," said Tim.
"I ignored them in high school and middle school," said Grant, leaning back. "I always hated that gooey school drama stuff."
"Word," said Tim. "Who else do you have coming with you on this trip?"
"A girl erm...classmate oh yeah my friend Monty. He's the fat guy who stared at Abigail's bottom."
"Wait you need guys like Rourke but brought that guy?"
"He's paying for the airline tickets so yeah I owe him a spot in the club so to speak."
"Fair enough."
Grant spent the next day seeing if there was anyone else that he could count on to join his expedition. Professor Floris looked at Grant like as if he was a nutcase and the boys he was friends with on his dorm floor thought he was wasting his time. Just as Grant was purchasing airplane tickets to China online however, a knock came at his door. It was Frankie Mullins.
"I think I know why your here," said Grant, beaming.
"And I think your glad I'm here," said Frankie. "I'm not an outdoors guy let's be honest. But I think I deserve to go."
"Your the reason why I'm in this," said Grant. "Make yourself at home. Monty's got snack in his closet he wouldn't mind a guest having. I'll purchase you a ticket."
"I heard that Makenna Nellis is coming," said Frankie, sitting on Grant's beanbag.
Grant sat in front of his computer. "Your know her?"
"She's a history major just like me. Small world huh?"
"I would have never figured her for a history major. She's a pain in the ass Frankie. It's her carelessness that got her laptop smashed. By the way did I mention she's a pain in the ass? Well here's me telling you that she is."
"She'll drop the whole thing once she sees the treasure," said Frankie, clearly unable to contain his excitement. "This is a dream come true for me man."
Grant smiled as he purchased another ticket. "Well I got a lot on the line. I bet my car."
"Hey," said Frankie, putting a hand on Grant's shoulder. "We may not be much but we got this bro."
Grant nodded. "Yes we do."

Star Wars Episode 7: A Corpse Through Which the Force Speaks
The fall of the Empire heralds dark times for humanity. As the New Republic concedes much of the galaxy to alien rule, a group of special forces stormtroopers must find a way to survive the "new normal". This fanfiction sets an alternate course of events in response to general dissatisfaction with the sequel trilogy. In terms of continuity, this story only takes into account the events of the first six movies and Rogue One. Please note: This story comes from the school of thought that the purpose of art is to provoke thought, rather than distract us from reality. I hope that the disturbing parts of this story do just that! This story is COMPLETE.

... And My Skillet
A long time ago, a child was born under the great blue sky. Many a Dwarf grumbled at the auspicious event, tugging furtively at their beards at this ill omen. A year later as the expedition had begun digging into the virgin hills of their new home, the grumbling of the doughty mountain people rose to a disbelieving furor when the yearling passed over the ritual offerings that would determine his lot in life. Instead, the as of yet unnamed child crawled over to a skillet fresh out of the fire and begun picking at the rock bread, unconcerned with the heat. Shouts turned into laughter, frowns lifted into craggy smiles. Upon placing a handful of the bread into his mouth, the infant’s face grew so grim and stony not even the eldest of the present Dwarves could match him. There was a durable ore within this babe, of that the Lore Keeper was sure. Yumly Ironhand was thus named, the beginning of his great tale immortalized on the rune walls of his clan’s history. “It’s pronounced Yoom Lee and no, rock bread isn’t a misnomer.”
