《Fox Squadron》Chapter 10 - Eric

Eric looked back over to the very unhappy Frayin girl. The source of her displeasure was easy enough to identify, that being the vine-like plant that was currently wrapped around her left arm and the upper part of her body. It had even managed to weave itself into her shoulder length blonde hair as well as the fluffy bronze colored fur of laser ears and tail. He shared a bewildered look with Djimon before addressing the girl. "OK Remy, where did you get the Calotas plant?"
"Does that Really, ah, matter right now?" Remy's response was interrupted when a vine decided to give her tail a little tug. "Considering that plant is a class 3 hazard and is illegal to even take them off Fraya, so I think it does." His apathetic response was not what she was hoping for, so she turned her doe-like eyes on Djimon. Djimon for his part at least questioned what was going on. "These plants are supposed to be really dangerous right?" Eric confirmed the question with a nod. "So why aren't we cutting her loose?"
All things considered it was a valid question. "The plant is carnivorous but this one is currently too small to be dangerous to a person." As he spoke he pointed to the table next to Reny where the fist sized body of the plant was sitting. "This one is a bigger danger to Reny's chastity than her life." As if on cue Remy let out another squeak as the vines contracted around her body. This and the casual conversation her, would be rescuers, were having seemed to be enough for her. "OK, I got it from The Saraphel. Now please cut me loOse!" Just as she finished she had to slap the vine that had just pulled her tail.
With that, he pulled out his filter mask. Djimon looked more than a little concerned. "Ah, what is the mask for?" Eric finished securing the clear mask before answering. "To block pheromones." He could have elaborated but he wasn't really comfortable discussing such a sensitive part about Frayin biology. Instead he drew his sword and sliced through the vines holding Remy. The Calotas plant immediately recoiled, wrapping itself defensively with what was left of its vines. While severed vines wrapped around Remy began to constrict.
Remy gasped for breath as she pulled at the vines around her neck with her free hand and collapsed to the floor. She struggled as they gave one last attempt at killing her. He winced at the audible cracking sound that came from her wrist where the vines were the thickest and tightest. Ten seconds after the vines had been cut they started to turn from a bright green to a dark brown. Then finally the dying vines loosened enough, letting her take in a deep breath of air. Djimon had rushed to her side when she had first collapsed, grabbed ahold of the now dry brown vines and pulled them from her body. The wrist that had been cover by the vines was now swollen and showing signs of being broken

Once she was free of the vines Remy used her good arm to pull herself up into a very passionate kiss with Djimon. The Terrain male did have any clue on how to react. Remy’s body, and the air around them was currently flooded with pheromones. This was a natural defence reaction that was left over from when they were hunted by creatures of their home world that would use those pheromones to track prey, one that only took place when a Frayin was dying or thought they were going to die. This was the reason Eric had put on his mask, and the reason he was prepping a tranquilizer from his first aid kit. Remy let out a little whimper when he hit her with the double strength tranqu.
“What the hell was that all about?!?!” Djimon exclaimed now that he wasn't being sexualy assaulted.
“I think you should have the medics explain that. Needless to say it's the reason I put on my mask.” While Djimon was yelling at him for once again avoiding the question he activated his com unit to call for a medical and hazmat team. They didn't have to wait long for the hazmat team, who quickly boxed up the plant before taking it to the nearest airlock for disposal. When the med team arrived they quickly determined that Remy’s wrist was broken but otherwise there was no lasting damage. The medic even gave a brief explanation on Frayin biology and what happens when they are in, life threatening situation This made Djimon feel a little better about not immediately cutting her free. So with the emergency now fully handled they started back to the liaison office.
Djimon was quiet until they got back into the office. “So are you going to give an actual explanation or just keep deflecting?” There was more than a little irritation in his voice as he spoke. Eric sat down at his desk then looked back at Djimon. “Look Remy knew what she was getting into when”
“Don't give me that. That plant broke her wrist. If we had waited any longer it probably would have killed her!”
“No it wouldn't. It was by far too small to be any real danger and even if it had she knew the risks of being a smuggler.” Djimon paused. “How do you know she is a smuggler? For that matter, how did you know who she was?”

Eric began a search of the Imperial database. A moment later the information he was looking for popped up.
Criminal Report
Remy: Tenya,
Age: 426, Sex: Female, marrige statuse: single Home world: unknown
Convicted in acts of smuggling in the Andotha sector as well as being suspected of forgery, counterfeiting, impersonating an imperial officer, impersonating
Exiled by order of Governor Lantana Rendal.
He then turned the display so Djimon could read it. He blinked a couple times before responding. “Wait Isn't your last name Rendal?”
“It is. My mother is the Governor of the Andotha sector and I was with her the day she sentenced Remy. That's how I know who she was”
Djimon was about to respond when the office door slid open and a very distressed Elvira rushed in breathing heavenly. “Quick, we need your help at the temple!” Djimon and Eric didn't hesitate and rushed out the door in the direction of the temple with Elvira close behind them. The liaison office was just off to one side of the Central Common area so it only took them a second to reach the temple. Once they arrived it was easy to see what the problem was. Two Terrain males were currently just inside the temple, one was currently arguing with Amara while the other had the Water Priestess Solles pind against the wall. Djimon started yelling at the two while Eric drew his sword, never breaking stride in the process. The interjection of the metal blade was more than enough to get the second Terrain male to release Solles. “What the fuck!” The male yelled as he threw up his hands in a gesture that apparently meant surender. “Oy we didn't do anything wrong.” The first males complaint only produced a chiding response form Amara. “You were trying to rape Solles!” Whatever argument the two males had was drowned out by Djimond yelling. “ALL OF YOU STOP RIGHT NOW!” they all froze, which was lucky for the second male as a second later he would have found himself disembloud by Eric’s sword.
Djimon did give any of them time to recover. He turned on the Terrains with his phaser pistol drawn. “You two are going to leave and never come back. And I don't mean the temple. I mean the entire section.” The two looked like the one of the great sprites themselves had suddenly manifested before them. Whatever fight they had in them was lost and so they did exactly as they were told. “Djimon, we can’t just let them walk away.” Amara pleaded. But Eric knew exactly what Djimon was doing. “Nayomi, there are two human male leaving the Frayin temple right now. Could you get IDs to station security and have them picked up once it's safe to do so?” Nayomi’s response was immediate. “Already done. I will say though, that was a close one.”
“It's a lot safer to have station security arrest them than have a fight here.” Eric explained to the stunned girls. Elvira tilted her head. “But weren't you about to kill one of them?” He ignored the question and turned to Solles. “Are you alright?” She was visibly shaking. “Y-yes. They tried to treat me like some kind of whore!” with that it was like someone had flipped a switch. “Those two came in here like it was a brothel. Talking about wanting to spend a night with one of the priestesses. I tried to explain that it was only the Air Priestesses who spent nights with patrons and only by their discretion but they wouldn’t listen. If Amara and Elvira hadn't come by, I don't know what would have happened.” As Solles finished she took a deep breath and sunk to the floor. By the sound of her rant even if they arrested the two offenders this was not going to be a one time thing.
