《Pilgrim》The Fearful Angel

Sam jumped at the sight of Evangelos appearing instantly across from him.
“You nearly gave me a heart attack! I wish you wouldn't make such a sudden theatrical entrance...”
“Apologies. I chose the path of discretion.”
Sam thought for a moment on how crazy it would have looked for this rather large angel to come inside through the front door.
“It's okay, don't worry about it. Is something wrong?”
Evangelos showed no sign of emotion. He obviously was very serious about his job, and went about it with a dry, almost robotic personality.
“Yes. I have come with another message for you. Lumen City is in grave danger.”
Sam pushed his plate aside and focused on the angel's message.
“What kind of trouble?”
“The Fallen Angel is hard at work in this city. You know him as Satan. He has tricked many a folk into working for him. Most are ignorant to that fact, and just enjoy chaos, hatred, instability. But, there are others who know exactly what they are doing, and have allied themselves with him.” Evangelos paused and looked outside the window at the rain, which was still falling hard. The lone cook, amazingly, was still asleep on their smoke break.
“One individual in particular, has sold his soul to him in order to come back and finish what he started.”
Sam's heart sank into his stomach.
“I sense that you already know of whom I speak. Levi Lyon, the murderer you presumed dead, is now very much alive, and now more powerful than even his guns could make him.”
Fear seeped into Sam's heart. A fear so insurmountable that he became light-headed, and thought he may faint.
“Fear not, for you carry with you the power of angels, and the heart of a fighter. You must continue the mission that Eli started. The mission that you started tonight when you preached. You are the light of the world, and it must shine through.”

“I can't... I can't do this,” Sam muttered, the fear in his voice now very tangible. “T-tell God that He has the wrong person. I can't do this.”
“You can do this. God has chosen you. He has a habit of taking the weak and making them strong. No offense, of course,” Evangelos said with a slightly embarrassed cough.
“No, you're right. I'm weak. I'm scared. I've only gotten this far on adrenaline and luck. Those muggers from the other day? It was all just a power rush. I can't handle a murderer, I can't face him. He took everything from me!”
Slightly agitated, Evangelos now leaned forward to face Sam.
“God knew how you would respond. That's why He is sending someone your way now, just as Moses had Aaron.”
Standing up from the table, he stretched out his mighty wings, and read from a scroll.
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”
With that, he rolled up his scroll, and managed a small smile.
“Keep the 'Pilgrim' moniker. We've gotten attached to it.”
With a nod, Evangelos had disappeared.
Sam was alone again, with only the thunder to keep him company now.
Wait, that isn't thunder now... oh no...
Gunfire.
