《Epitaph of Everything》Chapter 3. Venture Forth!

Naive stumbled its way through the tunnel, mind fully concentrated on the complex intricacies of putting one leg in front of the other. Its focus was torn asunder upon reaching the next cavern, the shock of a new discovery flooding its mind. A strange, translucent film was bulging past the entrance. Naive considered it for a moment before looking past the barrier. Inside there were things of all shapes and sizes floating through the air. Some floating lazily along, others jerking every other moment, cutting a zig zag path ahead, all around were similar sights of activity.
Naive stared into the room, blasted and overwhelmed by stimuli. Its thoughts would get interrupted to consider this, then get interrupted to consider that. This cycle went on for quite some time before the new information waned and Naives’ thoughts could thrive again. When it did one thought rose to the forefront of the skeletons’ consideration.
How do I get inside?
Naive called on its memory, trying to piece together a solution to this problem. It trudged through all its experiences until now until it remembered the first words it heard. Arms raised in front of itself Naive moved towards the strange lid that kept it from the new cavern. Hand met translucent bubble and sunk through with no resistance. Now on the other side of the wall Naive was impressed how versatile Natus’ knowledge was.
Unfortunately for Naive, the second cavern of its life was very much different from the first. From within the barrier the differences were abundantly clear. Most noticeable of which was how different the air felt. The strange air took more effort to move through and almost clung to the surface of Naives bones. From inside the cavern Naive could tell that many of the shapes had a translucent film which housed brightly colored blobs. Coffins inside coffins. Naive wondered if the blobs were the skeleton of the strange little shape.

The floating translucent blobs holding the colored balls reminded Naive very much of the barrier that he had pushed through to enter the cavern. Slowly trudging its way towards one of the blobs, Naive assumed its “pose of opening”, lifting its arms stiffly in front of itself. When Naives palm met the skull sized blob, it pushed back against Naives hand for just a moment before giving out. As soon as Naive punctured the film, the blob shook violently, wobbling and spewing out the odd, un-air like substance within.
Startled, Naive jerked out its hand . The blob completely ceased moving and the bright colors within had gone dark. The film that had made up the blob’s shape was torn wide open and looked blobular no longer. Naive thought that it didn’t look anything like it had before, leading the skeleton to wonder if the blob would need a new name now.
So lost in thoughts was Naive, that it didn’t notice the far larger creature creeping up from behind.

8 95Naga rising (Final version)
Eshanai used to think that her life was pretty good, that the elders of her tribe of Naga sisters had their best interests at heart. But one suspiciously regular disaster after another sort of makes you question things. So when Eshanai decides to go out on the island to do the unthinkable, break some rules, and nothing terrible happens to her like the elders said it would, her questions start to multiply. What else could the elders be wrong about? Were the Naga really chosen by the spirits? And could there be other people out there, beyond their island? Follow Eshanai and some of her sisters as she tries to find a way to leave the island and comes up with increasingly creative ways to get into a certain Oni's pants. Author's note: This is not a rewrite of my original Naga rising story. It's more of a reimagining, as it contains many of the same characters and settings but will have a completely different plot. Be advised that the two are not related to one another. This should not be seen as any form of sequel or prequel story. So I have caught up to my backlog, and at first, I thought I could release a chapter once a week. That turned out to be unrealistic as I am writing in my spare time, so periods of inaction might not be uncommon. Some of the tags might not come into effect until later on in the story.
