《The Legion》Chapter 12 - The Gods (Update with Short Hiatus)

"It seems we have been summoned again." She says cooly leaning against the hallway door.
"Haha!" His deep belly laugh made his long flowing beard hair seemingly shimmer over his shaking belly, " You say ‘summoned again’, but the last time we were summoned was like some 600 years ago."
Her eyes narrow, "And? The last one was our standard millennium check-in, this summons is 400 years early. Something's up. Did you see Tally? She seemed distraught when she ran by here."
"Tally's always been distraught since humans came into the picture. It’s always hectic with those little critters roaming around, but I am surprised she can keep up to the demand. I can’t imagine having to keep up with processing all those souls for new lives. They are like those bunnycorns but with advanced souls.”
He walks over to the entrance of the meeting room and peaks in. His expression stiffened suddenly after looking in the room, "Wait...Everyone's here… wait, 'everyone' was called? Not just us regulars?"
Her eyes softened, "Yes Bolgar, that's why I said what I said. I forgot you can be such an oblivious idiot."
She waited for a usual retort back, but Bolgar had a frantic look on his face. Snapping her fingers, Bolgar's attention quickly focuses on her, "Come now, let us take our spaces and find out what this is all about".
"I wished you stop snapping to get my attention." He muttered quietly under his breath so as to not be heard, “I am not one of your damned dogs.”
…
"Thank you everyone for coming on short notice. This has to do with the universe's current energy. Normally I just reach out to Tally about souls and energy, but in this scenario, it's more than what the percentage of error and flux that can be accounted for." God then waves over Tally and takes a seat on the side.

Tally nervously shuffles her feet and takes place at the front, "W-w-we noticed an influx of energy from a little while ago into this universe.” She takes a deep breath in and seems to get a bit more comfortable presenting to everyone, “That… W-well that shouldn’t be possible… as we all know, are universe is a closed systems, but we need to know if anyone in this room has been doing any experiments or seen anything in the universe that just seemed 'wrong'."
The room full of deities looked at each other waiting to see if anyone would report anything. After a minute of no response, Tally started wheezing, a whine could be heard on her exhales.
A hand was raised hesitantly.
"I don't have anything to report, but could anyone really have something to report?" He lowers his hand as he started speaking, "I mean it's a closed system and we can't create energy out of nothing."
Tally frantically looks around pleading for anyone's input.
God stands back up and places a bit of its’ form on her shoulder, "Tally, thanks for coming up and trying, but let me take lead for this meeting and sit yourself down. You know I can't take that wheeze and whine that you do when you are stressed. "
Tally obediently sits down.
God comes back to the center, "You are absolutely right Lonieal, as you and Tally reiterated, this is a closed universe, but we cannot overlook this tremendous spike in energy into this universe. It would have had to come from other universes, so has anyone seen any tears between dimensions or anything of that matter? We need to understand where this energy came from."
The room hangs silently with no responses, "Then we have to assume we are under attack from other universes. We are doing investigations, and we will find the source of the anomaly, so it’s not something anyone can hide. If you have been contacted by other universes, just tell me now, before we find out during the investigation. You wait until then, the punishment will be much more severe than now.”

A firm, confident voice shoots through the room, "You keep saying universes, plural. What makes you believe it's from multiple sources, My Lord?"
"The energy in our universe has increased by about 6 fold."
The room erupts with questions. God, looking around the room, pausing for a few seconds slams his fist down, shouting.
"SILENCE! Calm yourselves. This influx looks to have happened about a few days ago, but we just detected it about 24 hours ago. What should concern everyone is that there is nothing out of place."
God adjusts himself and lowers into the seat again, "Seeing as no one seems to have the information I am seeking, this meeting is adjourned. If any anomaly is detected by any of you, you are too report to me immediately, understood?"
"UNDERSTOOD" the room echoes back
“Agatha, I task you to check over the fate of those humans and see if there are any adjustments to the fates are within the expected spectrum. Report back to me directly if you see any wild deviations. Any of those out of the ordinary, keep one of your dogs to track them.”
“Understood!” Agatha reports back.
"Good, you are all dismissed!" God blinks out of vision.
Tally stands up immediately, "G-g-guys, if everyone can stay longer, I think we should discuss this a bit more together."
No one made a move to leave.
