Joyce drives Cang Yan, Rovell, Bai Xiaoli and Long Lan to the hotel, then goes to pick up Ainy, who is shopping in the down-town with her friends and hasn’t yet come back.

While waiting Joyce and Annie, Cang Yan keeps observing the interaction between Bai Xiaoli and Long Lan. Long Lan always cares for Bai Xiaoli like he is a child. When Long Lan goes to the bathroom, Cang Yan follows.

Getting out of the toilet, Long Lan finds Cang Yan standing beside the sink and he asks doubtfully: “Captain, are you waiting for me?”

“Yes.” Cang Yan replies, “I have something to ask you, about Bai Xiaoli.”

Long Lan becomes more curious, “Do you know him before? If not, how can you know that Xiaoli likes eating meat so much?”

This question is not easy to answer; he can’t say no, because Bai Xiaoli is his soul beast, but if he says yes, today it is just the first time they have meet each other.

“Kind of, can you tell me how you meet him?”

Long Lan smiles, “It’s a coincidence; it’s right here where I meet him.”

Then, Long Lan tells all those stories to Cang Yan about how he meets Bai Xiaoli in Tianjing Hotel, his guess about Bai’s memory loss, and his bittersweet experience of raising Bai Xiaoli as his son during one year and half, which have been hidden in his heart so long, but today he finally finds someone to tell.

Cang Tan keeps listening quietly, blaming himself. Bai Xiaoli does not have memory loss, but doesn’t know how to live in the human society. He summons Bai to come here, but fails to take care of him. Cang Yan feels deeply guilty.

Long Lan met Bai Xiaoli one year and half ago which doesn’t correspond to the time when he summoned his soul beast, so, before meeting Long Lan, where has Bai Xiaoli been? How has he passed that period? Has he spent so long time in the forest far from the city? “Now that you know each other, do you know where he lives? Does he have a family? Are they looking for Xiaoli? Even his identity certificate is handled through some relation of my mother. I don’t know who he was, so that’s the only way.”

“I should be his closest person. I have been looking for him, and I have never thought that he is with you. Long Lan, thank you for taking care of Xiaoli so long a time. I will remember your kindness.” Cang Yan appreciates sincerely.

Soul beast master’s life is connected with his soul beast.
