There is not even a slight chance to know who he is or how he appeared in that vast, empty, space. The first thing in his new life was a thought - "I can't see anything. Where am I?" Instinctively he swung his hands in the hope to feel something, which would help him identify his location. All he could reach was his own naked body. Desperately he started to run his hands all over his body, legs, face. However, despite even putting hands on the wide-opened eyes and gently poking them until he felt a light pain sensation, he couldn't see a thing. Panic invaded his hurt, he grabbed his knees into his arms, he attempted to shrink and disappear from where he was. He was lost in darkness.
Loneliness and cold were an addition to his fear of staying in that place forever. Unable to reach anything in blinding, pitch black, darkness, "Help" he whispered with a broken voice. Warm drops of tears ran on his face.
After some time, suddenly he felt soothing warmth penetrating his closed eyes. Gradually opening his eyelids he could not hold cheers of happiness. Shouting in joy and laughing again and again.
It was his tears, that what it was, they gathered into a small shining ball hovering in front of him. Now he was able to see his hands and legs when he put them near to flickering dim light. The light coming from the ball was too weak, however, he felt hope and comfort around it. This piece of sparkling ball reminds him of something that he used to be familiar with, but no matter how hard he tried he was unable to remember anything, his memory was corrupted before he appeared in this place.
Deciding to touch it, he moved his hand closer to a ball. Slowly with the tips of his fingers, he pushed the ball. It swung back and forth but didn't move from its place for afar, when it stopped vibrating it seemed like light became a little brighter and the ball grew in shape. Not a big of a difference but one could notice it. He then came closer while light lay on his whole body shining and revealing it, he was a small boy. Two hands, two legs, ten fingers on hands, and same on feet, one head, two eyes. He looked pretty ordinary save for his long black thick hair falling to his waist. It was the first time he saw himself.
When fully discovered himself, the boy felt lonely and insecure once more. He couldn't remember who he was or where he came from, after all. The only thing that he had - was the warmth of the light sphere in front of him. Carefully, he touched it again with both hands and hold it for a moment, a faint tickling sensation felt inside of his body. From tip to toe hot energy flow was dancing around, considering the cold and dark environment he currently was in and the contrast of new hot stimulation from the warm ball was almost addictive. And it looked like it was beneficial in both ways because the bright sphere became bigger and bigger. The longer it was in contact with the boy bigger it grew in size, slightly vibrating. Very soon the miniature sun grew so much in size that it was ten times bigger compared to its owner and could light up and warm up almost the whole place.

On some subconscious level, a young boy always knew that the place, he was in right now, is unimaginably enormous. But fear flooded his heart when, with the help of his new personal white star, he saw its boundaries. Gathering all his courage together, the boy dared to go and explore a dark and unknown place.
However, his confidence was not that much after a couple of thousand kilometers from his warm place. Still, keeping in mind that now when he has some sort of a lighthouse, he could go and check every inch of his new home. Slowly bit by bit he flew to check in different directions. First, the vicinity of this sun, then farther and farther. Very soon he reached the end.
"Unknown dark material" - it was the only explanation of the wall that blocked his path. The walls created a perfectly spherical shape of the place that he was in. It was firm and solid, making a strong impression of impenetrability. This wall had no reflection from the light nor any sensible temperature could be felt from it.
He spent his time trying to find anything unusual or helpful and inspected the wall over and over. Unfortunately, eventually, he gave up the idea and returned to the center to his light ball which still was distributing shine and heat.
From time to time he had flashbacks of long-lost memories from his past or at least he thought that it was from the past life. The life before he found himself in a dark sphere, all alone. It was the unfathomable feeling that he was sentenced to remain in this dark place as a form of punishment. As if it became his prison cell. In another episode that he caught a glance from his flashbacks was an image of him standing in front of a huge, all-consuming fire. But that fire was more soothing than destructive, it reminded him of his ball made from his tears.
Assuming that he was stuck in this place, the boy, who didn't remember his name, started decorating it with new things that he soon discovered he was capable of making. Lots of new lands now were circling his big bright star. He decided to make his cage a comfy home to live in.

Part of the story of Safo
Name: Safo Nur
Year: Present days
City: Tashkent
Country: Uzbekistan
Planet: Earth
Galaxy: Milky Way
Galactic system: (unknown)
Another beautiful summer night in Tashkent, a city of joy and peace. It wasn't one of the richest cities in Uzbekistan. But it could charm in its own, calming, way.
Night fell on the city, people were heading home, after a long and joyful day, that they spent in the biggest and best amusement park in the country.
Less and fewer sounds of women screams could be heard on a tall, free-falling attraction. Half of the kids were sleeping on the hands and shoulders of their parents, exhausted but happy.

"Alright, girls see you tomorrow at the same time, at the same place." Said 18-year-old Safo Nur waving his hands to his female co-workers. He recently started working as an operator of attractions. Short-cut black hair, thick black eyebrows. Slightly squinted dark eyes covered with, too long and curvy eyelashes, those eyelashes made lots of girls envy him. Having handsome and young face features made him popular among the opposite sex which he overused often.
"See you tomorrow, Safo."
"See you, thank you for covering me on my lunchtime, I owe you one."
"See you guys tomorrow, say hello to your girlfriend."
"Bye-bye, good night."
"Every young girl working in this park knows you, Safo." Said his companion and close friend. His name was Haddar Nana. He was a couple of years older than Safo Nur. Short, black-haired, attractive guy. Motivated by his love for money he worked triple harder than any of his peers would've liked to.
"When do you have time for such things, anyway? We work together at the same place every day." Haddar Nana continued. Safo Nur came to him asking for a job since he was determined to live independently.
"Haha, I don't know, man. Girls start talking and the next moment we are already good friends. We work at the same place so I try to keep in touch with staff here." Safo Nur was a charismatic and easygoing young fellow. He had a good sense of humor and manners, making him a pleasant person to chat with and make acquaintance with. His extrovert character never stopped others to get along with him, however. Which always frustrated his jealous girlfriend.
"You're still in the game, aren't you?" Haddar Nana said mockingly, referring to his girlfriend.
"Get out, I love only her, you know it." Safo Nur and his girlfriend were about to celebrate their first-year anniversary in a couple of weeks. In an eventful year, which ended with a big pleasant surprise that made their bond became stronger.
"When will you propose then? You knocked her up real fast but slow with a proposal?" He laughed, knowing that Safo Nur made her girlfriend pregnant and was gathering his courage to tell both, his and her parents.
"Be quiet, will ya?! The entire world heard you just now. It's still top-secret. I told you because you are supposed to be my friend." Safo said half-jest.
"Okay, okay. I just can't believe that you're getting married in your 18's. You're not ready, you're too young, man"
"I'm young but I think I'm ready, besides I love her and I love kids. I'll be a great husband and father, you know. I hope."
"I hope so too, man. Okay, this is my car, same as always I'll keep half of your daily salary, to save on your behalf, here take the other half." Haddar Nana said giving Safo Nur half of his daily paycheck.
"Thank you for doing this for me, I'm, really, not good at saving money." Safo finished his sentence turning his head in a different direction, not looking at Haddar. A beautifully shaped girl clad in black leather pants and jacket, wearing a black motorcycle helmet passed by them.
Haddar Nana didn't hear what Safo Nur's last sentence was, he was hypnotized by the seductive sight. They both were staring and complimenting the girl in silence.
"You're unbelievable, you almost married, shame on you, man." Haddar snapped out of his gaze.
"Fuck you, you were staring too. She is gorgeous though, right?" Safo said smiling, it wasn't cheating if you just look admiringly, he thought.
They laughed and said goodbyes. Next morning they will meet again at work.
Every night after work Safo Nur went to meet his girlfriend to chat and share any possible free time. He lived a couple of blocks further so it wasn't an issue. They made plans, dreaming about a future life together. They knew 18 was a young age to make a family and never in their mind were thoughts about giving up on a baby.
While in his anticipating dreams of seeing his girlfriend Safo Nur felt a sharp pain in his arm, he took a look and saw a girl in a black helmet holding something resembling a gun.
"What the hell are you doing lady?"
She was quiet, just stood there waiting for something.
A million thoughts ran through Safo Nur's mind. "Are you my ex or something?"
He felt that it became harder to keep his posture. Soon his legs declined to keep him stand up, on a halfway to kissing the ground, he fainted.

Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
