《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 124 Almost There

In a dark lake filled with fog, there was a small boat. Jill was laying inside the boat. She had her eyes close and was breathing the fog in through her nose. When she breathed out, fog came out of her nose.
She was at this foggy lake so she could clear and calm her mind. Everything had been very hectic lately. Everyone was trying to manipulate and force things on each other. She comprehended everything as she took in the information from Jelly's last battle.
They had a hierarchy, one that determine what they could do. At the bottom of the hierarchy were the pieces of soul. Rade, Snap, Snip, and others were at the very bottom. Up next were the selves, they were Jie, Jade, Juju, Jolly, and Joy.
Above the selves were the pillars. They included her, Jack, Jim, Jelly, and JJ. Above the pillars was Jay, the one who was all of them. Above Jay was Jules, she had done her job of supervising them well enough, she was currently living and helping Tai Shen. Above Jules is the current supervisor Eszero.
Above Eszero would be AE, someone who represented their emotions. AE was very erratic, he did things beyond reason. Above AE would be Absolute Eszero. Absolute Eszero represented their mind, he was the first of them all, without him, they would not and could not exist.
Currently, many things from all sorts of worlds were after Absolute Eszero. They were currently trying to poke him as he went about fulfilling Jill's and the other's wishes.
The fog moved over Jill and she felt cool and relaxed. Her mind was becoming calmer and clearer. She thought about where she was at and what was going to happen from now on.
With the ways things were going, they were soon going to enter the two-dimensional world after AE was done helping his sibling out. Currently, all everyone had to do was relax and enjoy themselves as AE and Absolute Eszero took care of everything.
Jill had always been someone who could wait for things. It would be a while and she would wait. She leaned over the side of the boat and played with the water. It made small ripples all over the lake.
Looking through the dark lake, she could see everything, everything that would be unknown if she could not see through the dark.

She leaned back into the boat and looked at the foggy sky. She reached out her hand and touched the fog. They passed around her hand and she could only feel them.
"What is it?"
Jack showed up from the fog and sat on the edge of the boat.
"Could I lay next to you?"
Jill looked into Jack's eyes, he seemed tired and weary.
"Sure."
Jack got in the boat and lay next to her. Both of them were staring up at the sky. Silence and time passed as the two lay next to each other. Jill broke the silence softly with a soft voice.
"Did you want to talk about something?"
A moment of silence hung in the air. Jack replied softly with a tired voice.
"No, I just felt I would be better if I laid next to you."
"Ah, do you like the smell of herbs on me?"
Jack smelled Jill and the herb came into his nose.
"It doesn't smell bad."
Silence hung in the air as the boat stayed still.
"Jack, could you tell me what your life was like?"
Silence hung in the air as Jack thought for a moment to himself.
"It wasn't anything special, circumstances pushed me to kill people and I simply got better and better at it."
"Do you regret anything?"
"Other than my failure to ward Valine away from JJ, I have no regret."
"Do you hate our daughter?"
"No, it's simply a circumstance she was born into."
"Do you still hate Valine?"
Jack paused for a moment and thought to himself.
"Like Reese, she's quite manipulative, I don't like manipulative people."
"You've had troubles with them?"
"Yes, a lot of troubles."
"Was there any manipulative person you like or respected?"
"No, I don't think so."
Silence returned as the two continued staring up at the sky filled with fog. The two took in the sight and felt it. It was very calm and peaceful.
"Jack, are you ok with us dying once and for all?"
A moment of silence passed.
"I'm ok, it's our wish after all, but a part of me isn't ok with it."

"Tell me about it."
"I don't know how to explain it, but being with everyone does make me happy."
"You don't wish to let it go?"
"No, but I know I have to."
"For our wish?"
"For our wish."
Silence hung in the air and the two closed their eyes. They relaxed and fell asleep. Time seemed to stop as everything around stopped moving. It was like a picture of a painting.
The picture disappeared and AE sighed. Things had been hard and were getting hard. He wanted to let it all loose. He turned and looked at another picture, it was a picture of a dandelion. The picture was nice, he liked looking at it.
Back at the boat, the two woke up and stretched themselves.
"Jack, can you cook for me?"
"Sure."
Jack pulled out a fish from his shirt. Jill wondered how and why it was in his shirt. He pulled out more fish and they floated in the air. Jill watched carefully as the fishes were sliced and thin. What was left in the air was transparent fish meat.
A fire formed in the air and the fish meats flew around it. Jack took out ingredients from his shirt and threw them towards the fire. The ingredients and fish meats circled the fire. It looked like a solar system. They then rushed into the fire and were engulfed.
The fire burned brightly and got smaller and smaller. After the fire disappeared, only food was left in the air. Jack threw two plates and the food landed. The plates came back and the two started eating.
“Jack, remember when AE blew up that world.”
Jack nodded, he remembered it very well. Although he wasn’t there at that time, he was able to access the memories of it. It made him question everything about himself and AE till Jelly rebelled.
Jelly’s rebellion revealed a lot of things to him and the others. Absolute Eszero was practicing making worlds. The world Tai Shen was in was made by Absolute Eszero. Most likely, making worlds had to do with progressing as an Externity.
There were many stretches of things Jack and the others could not see. They mostly understood what Absolute Eszero was doing, but some part of it remained a mystery. What they knew for sure was that Absolute Eszero was doing everything they desired.
“What do you think about him reforming it.”
After AE destroyed the world with the fake Externity, Absolute Eszero stepped in and reformed the world. Everything in the reformed world was the same except that there was no longer that fake Externity.
“Perhaps he was trying to see and change the future of that world,” Jack replied and bit through his food.
“Do you think he succeeded?”
“Most likely.”
“How long do you think till everything is over?”
“By the time we reach the age of one thousand, I’m mostly sure it's going to be the end of us.”
“A thousand years huh, such a short and long time.”
The two of them finished their food and laid back on the boat. They looked up at the misty sky and relaxed. They closed their eyes and fell asleep.
Far into the mist, watching the two, was a ball of water. The ball of water fell into the water and a ripple formed. The ripple traveled far and wide, it did not slow down or grow smaller.
On the other side of the misty planet, the ripple collided with itself and formed a ball of water. The ball of water grew smaller and tightened into itself. It became so small that it could not be seen.
A dot of mist formed in the air and became part of the surrounding mist. The planet became silent and continued being silent.
Watching the planet, spying on Jack and Jill, was a blade-like serpent. It had scales of blades, tail of blades, spikes of blades, crests of blades, limbs of blades, head of blades, eyes of blades, mouths of blades, and a tail of blades.
Something reached out from the unknown and grabbed the serpent. The serpent thrashed and violently struggled. Something enveloped the serpent and it became still. The serpent was pulled into the darkness and disappeared.
AE who was watching the world saw everything. He moved and followed.

8 115Candor: The Forgotten House
*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. As the fourth son in his family the possibility of him becoming the heir to the household was very small. But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. However, on what would otherwise be an unremarkable night, everything he had ever known, the only people he ever cared for, and all of the plans for his future were destroyed. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. By imperial decree, all those bearing the name Candor were hunted down and executed as traitors of the Empire. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

""""Duty is heavier than a mountain, death lighter than a feather."Warning: Contains a whole bunch of stuff young'uns shouldn't be reading, like intense violence, graphic descriptions of gore, and some possibly controversial opinions. But hey, that might just be me.

8 115The Epiphany Colony
Brad Asher has been a private detective on the Epiphany Colony orbiting Mars for about a year before stumbling into a conspiracy that threatens the safety and stability of the colony. Note that the story here is the first draft and has a lot of ideas, characters, and plotlines that I ended up dropping in the final version that I released here currently available on Kindle Unlimited. The entire second half was restructured, as I ended up not being satisfied with some of the things that I introduced and felt like it had strayed too far from my initial vision of a space-based detective noir story.
