Tesra woke up wondering where she was. She saw she was in a wooden room with lights in a tub full of warm water. By her side, she saw some clothes on a stool. Looking to the corner of the room she saw winds that look liked they had a head, tail, and hands.

She was surprised by it and saw it flying around slowly. She then saw it heads towards the door. She saw it went under the door. She wondered what happens next.

Then she heard footsteps. They were very light footsteps but with her keen ears, she could hear them. The door opens and she looked at the person in front of her calmly. It was a girl about the same age as her. She had silver hair, silver eyes, and pale skin.

The girl in front of her spoke. “Hello, my name is Jill, what's yours?”

She tried to answer back but only her hoarse voice came out.

“Looks like you can't speak yet.” Said Jill.

Jill then came close to her and Tesra wondered what she was going to do. Seeing her fears Jill stopped and spoke.

“I'm going to get you out of the tub and put clothes on you since you can't seem to move even after I healed you.”

Tesra looked at Jill and then nods. She felt she could trust the girl in front of her. Jill used wind force to carry her out and put clothes on her quickly. When Tesra saw Jill use magic she was very surprised. This mountain could be called a backwater place where not a single mage could be found yet such mage is here at a very young age.

The mages back in her home at around her age would not be able to carry her out off a tub like this with wind only. The girl in front of her also didn't look like a noble so it would be hard for her to get an education on magic unless some wondering mage decided to teach them magic because they had talent.

Jill saw what she was thinking and smile. She carried her to the kitchen and placed her down. Jill ordered one of the elements to feed her bread first. While Tesra was eating Jill simply watched her. After she was done eating Jill carried her to her room and placed her on the bed and she simply fell asleep.

After seeing her fall asleep she went back down the kitchen and looked outside. The girl was most likely a princess or some noble and the fact she didn't ask her to save her guards or escort meant that they were probably all dead.

Living in the mountain Jill had dealt with many creatures. There was a creature that she once met which she called the wood stalker. It was a mobile living tree that liked to take root over corpses for nutrients. One thing about the creature was that by its feet mushroom would grow.

The mushroom could help restore one point of mana once eaten. Creatures of all sorts love these mushrooms. They would stay by the wood stalker guarding it waiting for the mushroom to grow. When she first met the wood stalker she attacked and killed it along with its protector.

She thought that was the last of it but wood stalkers came around her house every morning until she noticed. After noticing she killed every one of them. To this day wood stalker would still come to her house. Two theory Jill had was that they knew her body was rich in mana and wanted to wait for her death or the other was that they liked the mental pressure she gave off because it made them produce more mushroom.

Anyway, Jill thought that if the girl was being hunted down then they might be able to track her and come to her place like the way the wood stalker did. Jill's constitution was amazing. She didn't need much sleep at all. She could go for days without sleep and still be fine.

Jill was also strong enough that a single punch from her could create wind pressure that could send bushes out of their roots. But that didn't mean it was strong enough to break tree with mere wind pressure. While looking outside, Jill watched the snowflakes fall. With her perception, she could see them falling at a far slower pace.

Jill then decided to get a chair and placed her arm on top of the kitchen table with her head in her hand. She closed both eyes and fell asleep while her mana perception spread out which would allow her to locate things in 120 meters. The snow kept falling silently and Jill too was silent.

Many hours passed by when Jill heard footstep in the snow. Jill didn't open her eyes though and kept sleeping. She heard more footsteps and counted at least seven people. From the stair, she heard footsteps. The footstep belonged to the girl she saved. The girl stared at her for a moment and tried to wake her up. The reason the girl was awake was because she had a magic necklace on her that told her if someone was trying to kill her.

But Jill didn't wake up for she had always been awake and asleep. The girl told her that there were assassins outside and she could see them through the window slowly coming towards the house.

The girl became scared when Jill didn't say anything and she looked out the window seeing the assassin approach the cabin with daggers. Feeling that this might be the end since she couldn't run away with the assassins this close she accepted her fate.

It was then that Jill spoke. “What's the matter?”

She saw Jill was awake and became hopeful.

“There are assassins outside, would you be able to take care of them?” She asked.

Jill nods and said. “They are already dead.”

The girl looked out the window and saw beast feasting on the assassins. She was surprised for a moment and wonder if the girl in front of her was a druid.

“Are you a druid?” She asked.

Searching her magical memory for the word druid she got that a druid was someone who controlled creatures through mana. Looking at her Jill shook her head.

“No, I'm not a druid,” Jill said.

The girl could only nod at her answer and didn't probe more. Jill told her to go back to sleep and she went back up the stairs into the bedroom and fell asleep. Jill spoke after the girl fell asleep.

“I forgot to ask her name... I’ll do it tomorrow.”

Jill then closed her eyes and fell asleep waiting for more assassins to come. After many hours It was morning and Jill woke up feeling refreshed. She went up the stairs and woke up the girl. By this time the girl had easily recovered from her malnutrition because of mana.

“What's your name,” Jill asked neutrally.

She spoke softly. “My name is Tesra Pal Taroz, you can call me Tesra.”

Jill whistled at her name. “Sounds like a name for royalty.”

She smiled and said thank you.

“Come, let's go eat,” Jill said.

Tesra followed her downstairs towards the kitchen. The food was already with a variety of dishes. Jill didn't like eating roasted meat every day so she started learning how to cook and her skills were pretty good. They ate silently for a few minutes until Tesra spoke up.

“Can you teach me magic?”

Jill looked at her and smiled. “I can but what will you give me in return.”

Tesra spoke calmly. “I can give you money when I return home.”

Jill laughed happily. “Everyone if not most people like money and I like money too but I'm looking for something more.” Jill then looked into her eyes.

Tesra was smart but she was too smart for her own good. “I’m willing to give you my body.”

“Hac, hac, ahem.” Jill regained her composure quickly and looked at her with a smile.

“Sorry but I'm not looking for that kind of thing, but maybe when you're older.” Jill joked with her.

Tesra blushed for a moment with wide eyes but regained her calm. “What would you like from me then?”

Jill leans back into her chair like a man even though she still looked like a little girl. “I’ve always wanted to try out swordsmanship, every time I slice at something with a sword it feels good, by the way, how old are you and what month?”

A year in this world was 10 months, 10 weeks for 1 month, 10 days for 1 week, 20 hours in a day, 100 minutes in an hour, and 100 seconds in a minute.

Tesra answered Jill. “I'm 10 years old born on the 7th month and I know the basics of swordsmanship which I can teach you.”

Jill thought for a moment and then gave her answer. “It seems I'm older than you by three months. I’ll will teach you magic in exchange for you teaching me the basics of swordsmanship, do you accept?”

Tesra smiled happily. “Yes, I accept.”

Jill smiled and poked her food with a fork. “Alright then, you can call me Jill, don't worry about the teacher-student relationship, anyway finishing eating and well get started on magic soon.”

Tesra nods and they both started finishing their meals. After they were done eating they went outside with Tesra wearing a fur coat since she wasn’t resistant to the cold outside like Jill.

While walking Jill looked at the status mission that told her the girl had talents and that if she taught her magic it would rewards her with a secret knowledge. Jill liked secret knowledge because she once got one for battling a Crane Croc and the secret knowledge was a crane croc recipe that tasted amazing while increasing her stats. She went on a hunting rampage and almost wiped out the crane croc population.

After a while of walking, they reached a meadow by the river. The meadow had snow covering it and the river was frozen. From around them, one could see pine trees with snow everywhere and the sun was shining down on everything.

Jill turn around and spoke to Tesra. “Alright then, let's start.”
